Re: Manbasket Operation on Franna AT22

10 November 2021

To Whom It May Concern,

Terex has been made aware of the concern regarding the sensitivity of the Manbasket
duty on the Dynamic LMI fitted to AT22 cranes. Under certain circumstances, it may be
difficult to raise the basket without reaching the overload condition.

The following points should be understood by all personnel conduction

manbasket operations:

 The operator’s manual guidance for manbasket installation and operation

should be thoroughly understood and adhered to.
 The fall block must be removed from the crane during manbasket operation.
Failure to do so will immediately create the overload condition with the
manbasket duty selected.
 Control operations should be smooth and motion speed minimized.
 The manbasket is only designed to carry persons with a small amount
of tooling to complete a task

Should difficulty with raising the manbasket continue, the manbasket may be used with
the following changes to the installation and operating guidance:

 Section 4.5.4.1 Installation

Step 8 – Select Winch or Winch – Manual Extended duty on the LMI system in accordance with the
crane’s physical configuration.

 Section 4.5.4.2 Manbasket Operation

NOTE – Manbasket TARE weight: 225kg. Manbasket Rated Capacity: 275kg.
NOTE – The total weight of the manbasket plus occupants and equipment (max.
500kg), is not to exceed 1/3 of the safe working load as read on fall block load
chart, for the boom length and radius being used.
