KEY STATISTICS
BIRTH STATISTICS
· The preliminary number of registered births from January to September 2022 reached 783,199. With the cut-off date by end of October
2022 in processing the birth certificates, this is lower by -20.6 percent than the total registered births of 986,369 in the same period in 2021.
· Among regions, Region IV-A (CALABARZON) recorded the highest number of registered births from January to September 2022 at
118,919 or 15.2 percent of the total births in the country.
· The National Capital Region (NCR) registered 88,033 births from January to September 2022, or a -24.7 percent decrease from the
116,940 births registered in the same period in 2021. Among its cities/municipality, Quezon City recorded the highest number of registered births
at 16,785 or 19.1 percent of the total births in the region.
· Cavite recorded the highest number of registered births from January to September 2022 among provinces at 31,516 or 4.0 percent of the
total births in the country, followed by the provinces of Bulacan (26,498 or 3.4% share) and Laguna (24,466 or 3.1% share).
MARRIAGE STATISTICS
· The preliminary number of registered marriages from January to September 2022 reached 286,555. With the same cut-off date in
processing the birth certificates, this preliminary count is higher by 13.1 percent than the total registered marriages of 253,426 in the same period
in 2021.
· Among regions, CALABARZON recorded the highest number of registered marriages from January to September 2022 at 42,122 or 14.7
percent of the total marriages in the country.
· NCR registered 33,811 marriages from January to September 2022, or a 25.0 percent increase from the 27,059 marriages registered in the
same period in 2021. Among its cities/municipality, the Quezon City recorded the highest number of registered marriages at 11,236 or 33.2
percent of the total marriages in the region.
· The provinces of Batangas, Cavite and Pangasinan registered the most numbers of marriages from January to September 2022 with
10,212 (3.6% share), 9,940 (3.5% share) and 9,191 (3.2% share), respectively.
DEATH STATISTICS
· The preliminary number of registered deaths from January to September 2022 reached 418,027, lower by -38.6 percent than the total
registered deaths of 680,597 in the same period in 2021. The cut-off date for processing the death certificates is the same with the birth and
marriage certificates which was on 31 October 2022.
· Among regions, CALABARZON recorded the highest number of registered deaths from January to September 2022 at 63,617 or 15.2
percent of the total deaths in the country.
· NCR registered 49,421 deaths from January to September 2022, or a -41.6 percent decrease from the 84,559 deaths registered in the
same period in 2021. Quezon City recorded the highest number of registered deaths in the NCR from January to September 2022 at 9,775 or
19.8 percent of the total deaths in the region.
· The province of Cavite recorded the highest number of registered deaths among provinces from January to September 2022 at 15,974 or
3.8 percent of the total deaths in the country. This was followed by Bulacan with 14,933 deaths (3.6% share) and Pangasinan with 13,924 or 3.3
percent share.
