Beef Stir Fry

Ingredients:

Beef:

 250g Steak – Flank steak or sirloin steak work really well. Rump
steak is also fine.
 1tbsp Cornflour
 1tbsp Chinese 5 spice
Veggie:

 1 Green pepper – Or another colour if you prefer

 1 Spring onions
 1tsp Red chilli
 1 Clove of Garlic – Fresh or jar/paste/frozen is OK too
 2cm Ginger – Same for this (cheat or fresh)
Sauce:

 1tbsp Tomato ketchup

 1 ½ tbsp Soy sauce
 1 ½ tbsp Sweet chilli sauce
 1 ½ tbsp Rice vinegar
 2tbsp Water
Noodles:

 75g Dried egg noodles

 1tbsp Sunflower oil – This needs to get hot so don’t use olive oil.
Sesame oil also works well for a little extra flavour.
Method:

Prep:

1. Cook noodles in boiling water until soft

2. While noodles are cooking, prep veggies
3. Slice steak into thin strips and mix with flour and Chinese 5 spice
4. Prepare sauce by mixing all listed sauce ingredients in a bowl

Cook:

1. When the noodles are nearly cooked, heat up a pan with oil until hot.
2. Add the steak strips prepped previously, once crisp and cooked, remove from the pan and
place on some kitchen roll.
3. Add pepper and chilli to the empty pan, cook for 2 mins and then add Garlic, Ginger, and
Spring Onion.
4. Cook for another minute and add the sauce, cook for a further minute until it is glossy.
