What did you learn about yourself from the back- to- back drawings, nail on a string challenge, Escape
the Boom, and the mock interviews? Share specific examples.
Some things that I learned about myself when doing the back-to-back drawings is that I am not an
incredibly good explainer. I am not good at relating drawings with real life objects, I tend to just say
what is on the paper. When doing the escape, the boom activity, I found myself as a good listener, and
found myself asking good questions as well. When doing the mock interviews, when a question was
asked, I could not say my response right on the spot, I had to think of my answer before speaking. I also
learned that I constantly stutter or fumble my words when speaking, but I would like to work on these
weaknesses and improve my communication skills.

How can you improve your communication skills? Be specific.

I think I can improve my communication skills by trying to relate to what other people are saying in a
conversation, and asking more questions when someone says something about themselves, for example
if someone says that they like to play basketball, then the other person would ask if they play in a club
or a team, or how long they have been playing for, asking more questions is a good way to keep the
conversation going and I need to improve on asking more questions to keep the conversation going.
Another way that I can improve my communication skills is by improving my vocabulary and not
stuttering or fumbling with my words.

Why is effective communication considered a fundamental skill to have in the workplace and in life?
Provide a minimum of SIX reasons with EXAMPLES.
A fundamental ability that is essential for both personal and professional success is effective
communication. It guarantees understanding, prevents disagreements, builds solid bonds with others,
supports persuasion, encourages professional growth, and eases problem-solving. In the personal field,
it facilitates healthy relationships and conflict resolution. In the professional field, it may prevent costly
can errors and foster teamwork. It's essential for reaching objectives and making a good impression on
people. For example, a salesperson who can articulate the benefits of a product effectively is more likely
to close deals and generate revenue for their company, or a manager who can facilitate a constructive
conversation between two team members with opposing views can help reach a compromise and
maintain a harmonious work environment. Another example can be a project manager clearly outlining
the project goals and expectations can help the team avoid errors and delays.
