Metal/ Graphite Gasket is
manufactured with concentric, Temperature Limit:
isolated convolutions in sheet –328°F (–200°C)
stainless steel that trap pure to 932°F (500°C)
graphite against the flange face. atmosphere
As the flange is tightened, the –328°F (–200°C)
convolutions are progressively to 1200°F (650°C)
flattened, thus trapping the steam
graphite sealing media. –328°F (–200°C)
Not only is a highly effective to 1650°F (900°C)
seal effected against both faces inert media
of the flange, but the graphite Pressure Limit:
is protected against oxidizing vacuum to
atmospheres and corrosives. 6000 psi (415 bar)
Steel Trap gaskets can remain Chemical Resistance:
in place and will continue to pH 0 – 14
seal effectively until removal
is necessary for equipment
servicing or repair. These seals
pay for themselves many times
over in reduced maintenance
and downtime. The unique,
self-locating design allows the
same size gasket to be used
in the vast majority of flange
pressure classes. This results
in unmatched time savings
in locating the right gasket,
while reducing inventory and
virtually eliminating the chance
of incorrect gasket selection.
