COMMON NOUNS

A common noun is a noun that describes a type of person, thing, or place or


that names a concept. Does not beging with capital letter.

Examples: caw, apple, girl, school, dog, book, flower.

PROPER NOUNS

A proper noun names a specific person, place, or thing. A proper noun is


always capitalized.

Examples: Colegio Del Bosque, Fernanda, María, México, Monday, June.

SINGULAR NOUN

A singular noun names one person, place or thing.

Examples: A cat, a girl, a house


PLURAL NOUN

A plural noun names more than one person, place or thing. To form plural
add “s” or “es”.

Examples: cats, girls, houses

IRREGULAR PLURAL NOUN

An irregular plural noun has a special form for the plural.


SINGULAR POSSESSIVE NOUNS

To show that one person, animals or thing owns something, use a singular
possessive noun. Add an “’s ”.

Examples:

 Maria has a book. Maria’s book.


 The dog has a ball. The dog’s ball.

PLURAL POSSESSIVE NOUNS

To show that two or more people, animals or thing share or own something,
use a plural possessive noun. Add an apostrophe “’” to plural nouns that end
in s, es, ies.
