“Avengers: Endgame” is one of the most famous and interesting films in the world I have
ever seen. The film serves as a conclusion to the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe
up to that point, ending the story arcs for several main characters such as Ant-Man, Thor,
Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man,… Despite my preference for romantic films, I am
absolutely interested in watching this movie. The plot of this film is logical and
attractive. The actors are exceptionally great as they can express the character’s mentality
naturally. What I like best about this film is its visual effect. The effect of this film so
great that it makes everyone and everything look real and inspiring. If anyone runs out of
movies to watch, I highly recommend the “Avengers: Endgame” as a change of appetite.
Now, let’s talk about your favorite childhood game.
- What was your favorite childhood game?

My favorite hobby is playing video games. Video games are very entertaining, so it has
attracted many young people. It is undeniable that the positive side of video games has
helped students relieve stress after tiring hours at school, reduce stress, regain spirit and
energy to study and work. Video games are an inexpensive means of entertainment, and
players of any age can find the right game with varying degrees of difficulty.
Moreover, video games also require us to use our minds flexibly. If you know how to
play properly, video games will bring into full play its effects, being a useful tool to help
us relieve pressure and stress.
2. Solution Discussion (4’)
Situation: A school is investing money in improving the quality of education in the
school. Three areas are suggested: the teachers, the students, and the facilities. Which
do you think is the best choice? Why?
I think the facilities is very important in the school. The important role of school
facilities on the quality of education plays an important role in the quality of education
that students receive. If facilities do not meet basic standards, this can affect the learning
environment and reduce teaching and learning effectiveness.
In summary, the facilities of a school have a very important influence on the quality of
education that students receive. Therefore, school units need to have adequate equipment
to serve the teaching and learning needs of teachers and students to improve the quality
of learning for students.

Lợi ích và tác hại của TV đối với trẻ nhỏ
It is obvious that there is an increasing use of the mass media such as TV, the Internet
and the radio among children. While I believe that the mass media offer children great
advantages, I also argue that they are negative for children in several
ways. Therefore, children should be supervised while using the mass media.
On the one hand, children benefit a lot from using the mass media. To begin with, the
mass media enable children to broaden their knowledge. To illustrate, the Internet
provides children with an unlimited source of information about various fields.
Moreover, watching numerous educational and informative TV programmes benefits
their study a lot. In addition, the mass media are great tools for entertainment. For
example, children can release stress after hard studying hours by watching comedies or
exciting game shows on TV or the Internet.
On the other hand, the downsides of using the mass media are various. First and
foremost, they have negative impacts on children's health. Taking a lot of time to use the
media makes kids suffer from health problems like shortsightedness, obesity and
exhaustion. Furthermore, the mass media contain the content that is inappropriate to
children. For example, some websites or programmes show violent and sexual images or
content, which leads them to imitate negative behaviors and learn negative things. Last
but not least, the media influence children's academic performance badly. To be more
specific, spending a great deal of time on the mass media makes children become
addicted to using them and distract children from their study. As a result, they get bad
learning results.
To summarize, the mass media have two-sided effects. Despite some shortcomings,
they make children's life become more convenient than ever before. Parents had better
limit the time children spend on the mass media so that children can make use of their
benefits.
TOPIC 1: Air pollutants have left harmful effects on human health and the
environment. In big cities, these pollutants are principally the products of
combustion from space heating, power generation or from motor vehicle traffic.
Pollutants from these sources may not only prove a problem in the immediate
vicinity of these sources but can travel long distances.
Write an essay to discuss the effects of air pollution on people and the environment
and suggest possible measures to deal with this problem.
Since air pollution is leaving bad effects on human health and the environment, we
need to act responsibly to reduce the damage. This essay will explain the effects of air
pollution and what can be done to address these problems.
There are many negative effects of air pollution. First of all, global warming is a
result of gas emissions from factories and exhaust fumes from vehicles. With increased
temperatures worldwide, the sea levels will rise and ice from the poles will melt quickly,
leading to numerous natural disasters such as floods, tidal waves, soil erosion, landslides,
and typhoons. In addition, air pollution is known to create several respiratory and heart
diseases along with cancers to humans. Several millions have died due to the direct or
indirect effects of air pollution every year.
To tackle the problems of air pollution, actions should be done. First, the
government introduce laws to put a limit on factories’ gas emissions or force companies
to use renewable energy in production. Second, they should also innovate the public
transport system to become more convenient and greener. By this way, the government
can encourage people to use public transports instead of driving, therefore reducing
pollutants in the air. Besides, individuals should stop littering in the streets and recycle
old papers, bottles or cans to reduce the trash in the environment. They can also plant
more trees in their neighborhoods to make their places greener andcleaner.
In conclusion, it is important to recognize the harmful effects of air pollution on
the environment and people’s health, and both governments and individuals are
responsible for improving the air quality and protecting the environment.
TOPIC 2: As the world is getting complex, more housewives work or participate in
their social activities. Then, working people prefer to go out to eat than to cook at
home. However, some say that home-cooked meals are much better for them.
Which one do you prefer?
Write an essay to say whether you like to eat out in restaurants or eat at home.
Eating at home or eating in a restaurant? [ăn nhà hay ăn nhà hàng]
Today people are interested in not only what and how they eat but also where they eat.
Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants. Other people like preparing and
eating at home. In my opinion, I would rather eat at home than at restaurants.
To begin with, there are many benefits of eating at home. First, eating at home is much
cheaper than eating at restaurants. Instead of spending money on restaurant food, people
can prepare their own meals and save lots of money. In addition, some people like
cooking and they want to prepare meals by themselves, and they do not want to go out
for a lunch or dinner at restaurants. Also, some people choose to eat at home just because
they would like to spend time with their families. While having dinner at home, they can
share many things with their family members or even talk about a television program
they like best.
Those who like eating out may find it enjoyable. Firstly, they will have a chance to enjoy
a variety of food. Everyone has different favorite dishes and restaurants may satisfy all
tastes of its customers. Secondly, someone says that it takes a lot of time to cook at
home. Therefore, they prefer to eat at food stands in order to save time andenergy.
However, in my opinion, when it comes to food safety, home-cooked meals are thought
to be cleaner andsafer.
In conclusion, there are many reasons for me to eat at home because it is a way to save
my money and spend a good time with my family.
TOPIC 3: One way to solve problem of congestion in cities is to build sky trains
which run overhead rather than on or under the ground. What are the advantages
and disadvantages of using this solution to solve congestion?
Write an essay to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of building a sky strain
in the city.
Building a sky strain in the city [xây tàu chạy trên cao trong thành phố]
It is said that building sky trains is a better way to solve traffic problems in cities
than building ground railways or underground tubes. In this essay I will discuss the
advantages and disadvantages of sky trains in terms of their ability to ease traffic
congestion. On the one hand, there are many benefits of having sky trains. To start with,
overheard railways occupy minimal land. They do not require much space except for the
land required for constructing the stations. Hence, they leave enough space for other
forms of ground transports and eventually reduce traffic congestions. Secondly, this
mode of transport will take much less time than cars or ground trains to go from place to
place. Thus, they save commuting time and at the same time reduce traffic, not to
mention the fact that they prevent passengers from road accidents.
On the other hand, there are a few drawbacks of building sky trains which cannot be
overlooked. One disadvantage is the high cost to construct overhead tubes. That means
the government has to pay a large amount of money for the sky train system in the city,
but the tickets should be cheap so that many people can use it. Next, safety is another
concern. Since the tubes move on narrow paths up high, it is considered a dangerous type
of commuting. Therefore, it is hard to attract many users, especially old people and
children. In conclusion, sky trains are certainly more effective than surface or
underground trains in reducing traffic congestions in cities; however, their downsides
cannot be overlooked.
TOPIC 4: Art education is vital for future students. Art classes affect students in
ways that many other classes cannot. They can help develop children’s creativity,
thought process, and their way of expression. However, some people think that
studying Arts at school is such a waste of time, and students should study other
useful subjects like Maths or Languages.
Write an essay to say whether you agree or disagree with the statement above.
Learning Arts at school
The question whether art education is necessary for children at school has drawn much
attention from the public. While some people argue that teaching art subjects is a waste
of time, I believe that it is significant for children to learn art subjects.
To begin with, it is thought by few people that art education at school is a waste of time.
They believe that there are more important subjects that would benefit children for their
future life. Science, technology and mathematics, for example, are of great significant
subjects which allows students to find a good job after graduation. On the other hand,
studying arts does not lead to a successful career. It is easy to see that those days, most
artists have been struggling to make a living from selling their work of art.
Despite the above arguments, from my view, learning art is necessary for students at
school because of some reasons. Firstly, art subjects including music, drawing, painting
and sculpture allow children to enter a state of relaxation. After concentration on STEM
subjects, what learners need is to unwind by usefully physical activities in order to make
a balance. For instance, singing a song in the musical class could bring positive emotion
to students. Secondly, studying art could improve performance in other subjects. It is true
that art enhances fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and problem-solving skills
which may assists children in attaining better learning outcomes.
In conclusion, although several individuals claim that it is a waste of time for art
education, it seems to me that having access to art classes is essential for children.
TOPIC 5: In today’s world, knowledge is fast replacing physical resources and
cheap labor as the driver of growth. There is a lot of evidence that economic
development is now increasingly linked to a nation’s ability to acquire and apply
knowledge. Therefore, learning should be a lifelong process to gain knowledge and
practise new skills.
Write an essay to say whether you agree or disagree with the statement”It is never
too late to learn.”
Never too late to learn Learning is the most important thing in our life. It is about
knowledge at school, in books and experience in life. In my opinion, I totally agree that it
is never too late to learn.
There are many reasons why people should keep learning and discovering new things.
Firstly, studying something new keeps learners’ mind active. It is especially important
when people get older and become slow in thinking and making decisions. Learning
gives people a chance to activate their brain and broaden their knowledge. In addition,
learning keeps people motivated and helps them spend their time healthily. More
importantly, the new skills people learn may help them get better jobs, promotion, and
self-improvement.
Some people may argue that they have spent many years learning since they are young,
so it will be difficult for them to continue learning when they get older due to health
problems. Moreover, people of middle ages have no motivation to learn as the young
ones because they have fewer needs to try their best to get a scholarship to sudy abroad,
find a good job, or make money for their family. Therefore, most of them choose to stop
learning.
However, the morden life is changing rapidly. If people stop learning, they will quickly
fall behind others and get isolated from the society. Lack of new skills or knowledge may
disturb people’s life because they cannot enjoy the conveniences that modern technology
brings to them. Furthermore, unlike the past, people today can learn in various ways from
books, schools, media, or from the Internet. This makes their learning easier and more
comfortable than ever.
In conclusion, learning gives equal opportunity to everyone, so people should never stop
getting knowledge and discovering new things.
TOPIC 6: Write an essay to say whether you agree or disagree with the statement
above.
Public transport is faster and more convenient [ phương tiện giao thông công cộng
ngày nay nhanh hơn và tiện hơn]
It is true that the public transport system in many cities has been improved so much that
it is believed to be faster and more convenient than private vehicles. In my opinion, I
totally agree with this opinion.
The first reason why I agree is that people who use public transports such as buses or
subways do not have to worry about finding a parking space. In fact, many car drivers
find it hard to park their cars in the city centers because many areas are now reserved for
walking, and the parking fee per hour is rapidly increasing. On the contrary, it is easy to
get on a bus or subway train and get off where you want.
The second reason why I agree is that public transports use their own lanes to carry
passengers, so they do not get stuck in the traffic jams during rush hours. Also, people
can avoid traffic accidents on the way. In short, using public transport is now faster and
safer than driving.
Last but not least, more modern equipment has been installed in mass transports, which
brings many comforts to riders. There will be no more old and dirty busses or trains in
cities. Instead, commuters can now use new and smart public transports which are well-
equipped and controlled by computers. This makes them less use their cars or
motorbikes.
In conclusion, because public transportation has become more successful in cities,
compared to private vehicles, people should use public transports more often.
TOPIC 7: The developing world is increasingly concerned that too many of its
skilled and educated citizens are moving abroad. This exodus of the best and the
brightest — the so-called “brain drain” — is supposedly depleting the stock of
human capital of poor countries and hurting their prospects of economic
development.
Write an essay to discuss the causes of brain drain in developing countries and
suggest possible solutions.
Brain drain (Chảy máu chất xám)
In today world, many developing countries today are facing the issue of professionals or
skilled workers migrating to other developed countries to look for better employment
opportunities. This essay will discuss the causes of the situation and suggest possible
ways to deal with this problem.
To begin with, there are many reasons that lead to brain drain in many poor countries.
Firstly, the unemployment rate in these countries is very high, and many people find it
hard to get jobs. Every year, a large number of university graduates place much pressure
on the job market, which makes job-searching a very difficult task.
Another factor behind this problem is the low average salary. The income does not
response to the dedication and effort that a person puts in his or her job. Moreover, the
working environment does not satisfy the needs of experts or professionals. For these
reasons, talented people prefer to leave their country and find jobs abroad.
To tackle the problem of brain drain, suitable measures should be considered. One
solution is that the labor market needs to be expanded to create more jobs for the
working people. Furthermore, extra pay or promotions can also help to keep the talents.
In other words, employers need to offer bonuses and regularly promote the staff with
good skills and high productivity. Lastly, it is important to set up a professional working
environment which can help employees to develop their own abilities and devote
themselves to work. In conclusion, it is clear that there are obvious reasons encouraging
the brain drain in developing countries. However, I understand that if proper steps are
implemented, we will be able to tackle the problem for a better future.
TOPIC 8: First-time mothers are more likely to be 35 or older than their
counterparts from two decades ago, according to the Pew Research Center. While
the number of first time moms between ages 20 and 24 falls, the number of births to
women in their late 30s keeps growing. This is the result of an increasing number of
women delaying marriage to seek more education or establish themselves in jobs
and careers.
Write an essay to discuss the effects of women having babies after 35 on family and
the society.
Having babies after 35 [có con sau 35 tuổi]
Nowadays, first-time mothers are more likely to be 35 or older than in the past, and this
trend keeps growing quickly. In this essay, I will discuss the effects of women having
babies after 35 on family and the society.
On the one hand, there are several effects of women having babies after 35 on family.
First of all, delayed births badly affect the mother and the baby’s health. Old women tend
to face dangers during birth, and their babies may get fatal diseases before being born. As
a result, this costs the family a fortune to deal with the health problems. In addition, old
parents are likely to retire, while their children are growing up, so they may not have
enough money to support their kids later in life. Their children have to start work early to
make their living.
On the other hand, there are also many effects of women having babies after 35 on the
society. One effect is that the government has to pay more money for mothers and
children’s health care. They may lack money for other important sectors such as
education or economy. Another effect is that delayed birth among women may cause the
lack of labor when fewer and fewer young people enter the labor market. Also, aging
population is another riskwhen more women avoid having babies early. This will put
more burden on the society.
In conclusion, I think that having babies late has many negative effects on family and
society development. Therefore, suitable actions should be taken to support young
families.
TOPIC 9: Road traffic accidents now make up a surprisingly significant portion of
the worldwide burden of ill-health. An estimated 1.2 million people are killed in
road crashes each year, and if present trends continue, road traffic injuries are
predicted to be the third-leading contributor to the global burden of disease and
injury by 2020.
Write an essay to discuss the causes of traffic accidents and suggest possible
solutions.
Road accidents [tai nạn giao thông]
It is true that traffic accidents are the main cause of the global burden of ill- health. In
this essay, I will discuss the causes of road accidents and suggest solutions to this
problem.
There are many causes of traffic accidents. First, some drivers do not respect the traffic
laws. For example, they drink alcohol before they drive, or use cell phones while they are
driving. Besides, some drive very fast, exceed the red light, or take the wrong lanes.
Second, the bad weather such as heavy rains, strong winds, and storms can increase the
number of accidents on roads. In bad weather, it is difficult to control the vehicles.
Moreover, the traffic facilities are not good. That means people do not have enough
public transports such as buses, trains, trams, or subways. Therefore, a lot of people use
private vehicles in crowded streets. This will lead to many traffic accidents.
There are some solutions to the problem. One solution is that the government should
punish careless drivers who break the law. For example, the policemen can keep the
vehicles and the licenses for 6-12 months, and the drivers have to pay 5-10 million VND
per case. Another solution is that people should not go out in bad weather, or they should
drive carefully to avoid accidents. Finally, public transports and other traffic facilities
such as street signs, traffic lights, or walking bridges should be improved to reduce the
number of traffic accidents.
In conclusion, it is important to understand the causes of traffic accidents and suggest
suitable solutions to the problem.
TOPIC 10 Children should spend most of their time on studying and playing, and
they shouldn’t be required to help family with household chores, such as cleaning
and cooking. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Some people say that children should spend most of the time playing and studying while
other people say that they should be required to help the family with household chores,
like cooking and cleaning. In my opinion, they have to help the family. We can learn
about how to help others through house work and how to do household chores that is
needed for future by helping our family.
To begin with, we are society. Thus, we need to help each other. If we want it, we have
to help others. However, we don’t know how to aid others and we must know how to
assist other people. For example, If your young sister needs your help but you are not
around, she will have a hard time. So we have to know how to help others. We can know
how to help others through helping the family with household chores when we are
young. In addition, children become an adult after time. Children have to learn how to do
household chores for future, when we are adult. We should not ask parents to do
housework. If you become an adult and live apart from your parents, you should do your
housework. So learning about housework when we are young is very good thing.
Therefore, children need to help the family with household chores for their family,
neighbors, and oneself.
TOPIC 11: Forests cover about 30 percent of the planet’s land mass, but humans
are cutting them down, clearing these essential habitats on a massive scale.
Deforestation can involve conversion of forest land to farms, ranches, or urban use.
Write an essay to discuss the effects of deforestation and suggest possible solutions
to this issue.
Deforestation [phá rừng]
It is true that people are damaging many forests, and it causes serious effects to life on
earth. In my opinion, we should know about the effects of deforestation and find ways to
solve these problems.
To start with, clearing woods and jungles results in ecological disorder. The truth is that
forests serve as habitats for plants and animals, so the loss of these green areas will lead
to disappearance of the wild life due to the lack of food source and living environment.
While some of wild animals move to other places to survive, others are unable to adapt to
the changes and die out.
Deforestation also causes climate change and global warming. In fact, trees are a rich
source of oxygen, and they can absorb harmful gases in the environment. They clean the
air and keep the surrounding safe for living. Therefore, cutting a lot of trees means
destroying the environment and increasing the global heat. Besides, cutting down trees
makes storms and floods more destructive because nothing can hold up water and soil as
well as tree roots.
To tackle the problems of deforestation, suitable measures should be taken. First, heavy
fines should be applied to stop those who kill the forests. In many developing countries,
for example, the number of forests destroyed is increasing rapidly due to city expansion,
but the laws are not strict enough to limit this act. Second, the government should build
more national parks and completely ban forest damaging. Finally, planting and protecting
trees should be encouraged in order to raise people’s awareness of environment
protection.
In conclusion, it is significant to recognize the serious effects of deforestation and take
suitable actions to protect the “green lungs” of the earth.
TOPIC 12: Childhood obesity is a serious medical condition that affects children
and adolescents. Children who are obese are above the normal weight for their age
and height. Childhood obesity can also lead to poor self-esteem and depression.
Write an essay to discuss the causes of childhood obesity and suggest solutions to
the issue.
Childhood Obesity [béo phì ở trẻ em]
It is said that childhood obesity is a serious medical condition that affects young
people. In this essay, I will discuss the causes of childhood obesity and suggest some
solutions.
There are many causes of childhood obesity. First, children tend to have an unhealthy
eating habit. That means children like to eat out in fast food restaurants such as KFC,
Macdonal, Lotte, or Pizza Hut. They usually eat fast food with their friends at the
weekend or after school. As a result, the kids will gain a lot of weight because fast food
or snacks contain a lot of oil, sugar, and salt. It is not good for their health. Second, today
children are busy studying at school and outside school, so they do not have time for
exercise or outdoor activities. For example, on Sundays, some children stay at home to
play computer games or study online instead of going out to play sports or exercise in the
park. This will easily lead to obesity.
To deal with the problem of childhood obesity, some solutions should be suggested. One
solution is that parents should cook healthy meals for their kids every day. For example,
they should buy fish, vegetables and fruits fortheir family. They should not let their kids
eat fast foods or snacks. Another solution is that parents should encourage their children
to play sports such as swimming, football, volleyball or table tennis. Besides, on the
holidays, families should travel together to the zoo, the park, or the camping sites so that
children can have a chance to relax or enjoy outdoor activities. It is really useful to deal
with obesity.
In conclusion, there are many causes of childhood obesity, so dealing with this problem
requires effort from school and family.
TOPIC 13: Because of the advances in communication technology and internet
access, working from home has become a popular practice in many offices. This
saves companies money while allowing workers the freedom to create their own
schedules and work from wherever they please. It can be a win-win situation.
Write an essay to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of working from home.
Working from home [làm việc từ xa]:
It is true that working from home has become common in various companies thanks
to the development of information technology and the Internet. In this essay, I will
discuss the advantages and disadvantages of working from home.
On the one hand, there are several advantages of working from home. First of all, it is
flexible and convenient. That means office workers can choose the time and place
suitable for them to work, and they do not have to go to their workplace every day.
Second, it is easy to contact with the boss and colleagues via cell phones, computers, or
social network sites. They can call, text, chat, or mail to each other. Another good point
is that companies can reduce the cost of rentals, travel, and energy use. They can hire
smaller office rooms and workers don not have to travel much to work, which leads to
higher profits and productivity. Last but not least, flexi-working gives people more free
time at home, which is important for a happy family. For example, working parents can
share time to look after their children, do the housework, or have meals together.
On the other hand, there may be some problems of working from home. One problem is
that workers may forget their duty due to the relaxing time at home. They may spend
time running their own business or doing their hobbies, so they cannot meet the
deadlines, forget important reports, or fail to finish their projects. In addition, not all
businesses can apply this way of working. It depends on technology and types of work
they are doing. To sum up, despite some problems, working from home is beneficial in
many ways, so this trend should be widely promoted in the future.
TOPIC 14: Some people agree that children should read books with pictures, while
many people disagree because this can affect children's imagination. To what extent
do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays, reading has become an essential part of children's lives. While some people
say children should read books with lots of illustrations, others argue that reading books
with pictures is not good for children's imagination. In my opinion, I partially agree with
this statement for the following reasons.
On the one hand, reading illustrated books has several benefits for children. First,
children will feel more interested in the content they read when there are pictures to
follow. Obviously, reading text-only content will be frustrating and boring for children.
Second, through pictures, children can more easily understand written content that is
difficult to express. For example, instead of text about the severity of a disaster, a picture
of the disaster will make a stronger impression on the reader.
On the other hand, reading books with lots of pictures also has some disadvantages for
children. From a psychological perspective, children will easily become lazy when
exposed to content with too many illustrations. It is true that when pictures are available
in a book, children tend to only see the content of the pictures and ignore the writing.
Besides, in terms of education, it will be difficult for teachers to convey the full meaning
of the story or lesson if all the books include too many pictures. For example, there are
formulas or theorems that must be presented in written form.
In conclusion, while reading with illustrations is no doubt good for children, its potential
risks should not igorned.
