What happens at Motheread/Fatheread Book Club meetings?
The book groups meet weekly for 90 minutes for 6 weeks from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. To
allow adult participation, child care is offered. Literacy as experience, art, and process is
explored in each meeting using a holistic, learner-centered approach focused on pre-k to
2nd grade. Activities will include modeling and performing read-aloud strategies to help
children interact with stories. Activities help build literacy skills. After these activities,
parents and children practice read-aloud approaches.
