Dear Parents and Guardians,

Last fall, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) was formed. It is a tax-exempt organization and is part of
the Colorado PTA and National PTA. This structure brings many additional resources to enhance the
success of our students.

The Sierra Vista PTA has already been active in the school by setting up the organization and hosting the
Holiday Store earlier in the year. We appreciate their support and want to continue the partnership with
our community.

Unfortunately, the PTA officers are unable to continue in their role and we are looking for a few
parents/staff that might be interested in stepping up to lead the PTA. Specifically, we need a president,
vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. There is guidance and training for the roles.

A meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 14th at 5:00 PM to elect officers and plan the remainder of
the year. We have already heard from some parents that are interested in stepping up to a position in
the PTA. If you’re not interested in one of the roles, but still interested in participating in the PTA, please
plan to attend. Karen Hobson, the Colorado PTA Region 6 Director, will be attending the meeting and will
be available to answer questions.
