Write a literature review of a research proposal and references about An Investigation of the Impact of
Workload, Organizational Support, and Coping Mechanisms on Employee Wellbeing

Introduction:

The wellbeing of employees is a critical factor for the overall success of any organization. Research has
shown that employee wellbeing is influenced by several factors, including workload, organizational
support, and coping mechanisms. This literature review aims to investigate the impact of workload,
organizational support, and coping mechanisms on employee wellbeing.

Workload:

The workload of employees is one of the key factors that affect their wellbeing. A high workload can
result in stress, exhaustion, and burnout, which can lead to various negative outcomes for the
employee, including decreased job satisfaction, reduced productivity, and increased absenteeism.
Studies have shown that reducing the workload of employees can lead to increased job satisfaction and
improved mental health (Liu et al., 2020; Sorensen & Nussbaum, 2018).

Organizational support:

Organizational support is another critical factor that can impact employee wellbeing. Research has
shown that when employees feel supported by their organization, they are more likely to be satisfied
with their jobs and experience lower levels of stress (Aronsson et al., 2017; Halbesleben & Buckley,
2004). Organizational support can take many forms, including providing resources to employees,
promoting work-life balance, and fostering a positive work environment.

Coping mechanisms:

Coping mechanisms refer to the strategies that employees use to deal with the stress and demands of
their job. Effective coping mechanisms can help employees manage their workload and maintain their
wellbeing. Studies have shown that employees who have access to effective coping mechanisms, such as
social support and mindfulness techniques, are less likely to experience burnout and other negative
outcomes (Baron et al., 2016; Grawitch et al., 2006).
Conclusion:

In conclusion, this literature review highlights the critical role that workload, organizational support, and
coping mechanisms play in employee wellbeing. These factors can have a significant impact on
employee satisfaction, productivity, and overall mental health. Employers can take steps to reduce the
workload of their employees, provide adequate organizational support, and promote effective coping
mechanisms to support the wellbeing of their workforce.
