HEADLIGHT SYSTEM * Halogen bulbs have pressurized gas inside and require special handling. They can burst if scratched or dropped. Hold a bulb only by its plastic or metal case. Don't touch the glass part of a bulb with bare hands. SRS (SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM) ‘The LAND CRUISER / LAND CRUISER PRADO is equipped with an SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) such as the driver airbag and front passenger airbag. Failure to carry out service operation in the correct sequence could cause the SRS to unexpectedly deploy during servicing, possibly leading to a serious accident. Before servicing (including removal or installation of parts, inspection or replacement), be sure to read the precautionary notices in the RS section. Wire Horness TIMING BELT WARNING INSPECTION 1, RESET TIMING BELT WARNING The timing belt warning light lights up when the vehi- cle has run 100,000 km. When the belt has been replace, remove the screw from the “0” position at the rear of the meter and reinstall it in the "10" position. HINT: When the warning light lights up after 200,000 km, remove the screw from the “10” position and reinstall it at the “0” position. After 300,000 km, install the screw back at the “10” position. 2. INSPECT TIMING BELT WARNING MICRO SWITCH (a) Remove the speedometer unit from the combination meter. {b) Read the number indicated by the timing belt micro- switch in the speedometer. REPLACE SPEEDOMETER (2) Remove the speedometer unit from the combination meter.
