5th May 2023, 9.30 p.m

Dear Diary,

Today was the best day of my summer vacation. I went on an outing in a forest along with my
family and relatives We all went to Chikmagalur in Karnataka, so we started early in the
morning in a car. We were stunned by the view of the city as it was fully on a mountain.
We booked a room there which was in a dense forest and stayed there for the night. In the
morning we decided to go to a mountain that was 6,318 feet above sea level. On the way we
saw mini waterfalls which branched out from the bigger one. There we climbed almost 1,000
steps. It was full of clouds and it felt like heaven. We took a group photo and selfies. Then we
went to Jhari Falls which was deep inside for which we had to go on a jeep provided by the
local guides. There were many trees and a small water passage. We enjoyed the view and
returned back to the room by lunchtime. Then we took a rest for the day as we were already
worried about the tiny leeches which were all over the forest. The next day we went to
Manikya Dhara Falls which had a very good view of the mountains full of greenery. It was so
beautiful. Those mountains were filled with lavender-coloured flowers which appear every 12
years. We plucked a few flowers and left. Then we went to a cave temple called Baba
Budangiri Cave. We returned back to the room, packed our bags, and got into the car. On the
way, we saw 2 peacocks on a tall tree we captured that amazing movement in our camera and
came back home.
