• Five (5) current trends in the accommodation industry

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Chatbots have proven to be a customer service asset both during the booking process and in responding
to recurring questions. This is especially important in an which is expected to be on 24/7. The AI model
can learn from guests and adapt over time while answering questions, fulfilling simple booking tasks,
and improving its own speech over time.

2. Digitalized guest experiences

This means that guests are able to access information about their stay, services, and amenities through
their smartphones or other digital devices. In addition, guests can use these devices to interact with
hotel staff and other guests. While some hotels have been slow to adopt this technology, others have
seen great success with it.

Creates opportunities to improve the hotel’s overall experience. Improves the hotel’s ability to serve
guests in new ways.

3. Virtual Reality Tours

Virtual tours/ 360 videos can help some customers to better understand the facilities available. A VR
hotel tour provides website visitors with a means to obtain a digital first-person point of view of your
premises. This is particularly useful when presenting the rooms you have to offer, as customers can
obtain a “feel” for what is in store. By displaying how guests will be able to interact with this splendid
environment, the viewer is provided with a first-hand glimpse of what he or she can expect to enjoy.

4. Social Media for promotion

Hotels use Social Media not just as one among the hotel promotion ideas, All these social media posts
act as a reference for other people who want to go for a vacation, looking for a stay, and seeking what
are the available exciting menus there. Here, the hotels have the great opportunity to get into the
conversation to spread the excitement and also build relationships.

5. Sustainability

Many hotels have implemented recycling in common areas, reusable food service materials and have
made newspapers available in common areas rather than delivering to each individual room. Hotels
have also implemented the use of reusable water bottles by having filtered water stations and giving
guests a reusable water bottle instead of using plastic bottles. There are more than 10 common
sustainability practices in hotels which can be implemented. As we move towards more conscious
consumers, hotels must be able to adapt to this type of consumer, offering them the chance to travel
more sustainably.

The automated meal-serving robots, called Jollibots, The Jollibots may be considered as the store team’s
on-ground assistants, ready to extend a helping hand in dispatching orders straight to customers’
tables—allowing the crew to focus on other important tasks or attend to special requests of customers

desire for more sensorial experiences. Global Flavors will always be popular because they provide a
unique experience for diners. People want more than a bowl of noodles, they want the noodles to be
sourced, cooked, seasoned and presented.

4. Eatertainment

and drink. Usually, this is a venue like an attractions/leisure center that provides activities for guests and
a cafe/restaurant area in-venue. Have food options that would interest both parents and children. Offer
virtual reality games that cater to parents and teenagers and less complex activities like arts and crafts
for younger children.

environment conducive to shared experiences and fostering connections. The incorporation of
competitive elements, such as leaderboard systems and multiplayer games, adds an extra layer of
excitement and engagement.

introducing alternative, meat-free options into their existing menu. Ticking off those suffering from
hypersensitivity of select food groups, making conscientious choices and pursuing healthier lifestyles are
high up the list for many.

Now fully adopted seasonal happenings such as Veganuary provides restaurants with a great chance to
get creative, offer alternative ingredients and be part of the internet hype that seems like it’s here to
stay.

social media or mobile gaming while working on my homework. I did myself research and completed
this activity on my own.

3. How long did it take you to accomplish these tasks?

It depends on the activity and the tasks I have to do. I recently accomplished this task a day ago.

4. Rate your overall contribution to the group on a scale of 1–10 (10 being the highest). Justify
