Introduction: For this week, job interviews and self-recognition for talking about myself in a job
interview.

Important vocabulary: interview, interviewer, interviewee, job interview,…

Class sequence:

 Answer the following questions based on the information about job interviews from the PP
presentation (stand for excellence, week #4).

 What is a job interview?

 A job interview is a conversation which occurs between a potential employer and a job
applicant. the employer hopes to determine whether or not the applicant is suitable for the
job

 Summarize the “process” in a job interview.

 an applicant responds to an advertised job opening in internet or in the newspaper,
providing a resume and other requested materials.
The employer reviews all received applications, and decides who should be invited back for an
interview
 In some cases, a preliminary interview may be held on the phone, to save resources
 Depending on the size of a company and its organization, an applicant may only have one
job interview. Or in other companies maybe can have more than 1 interview.
 In other cases, a representative of the human resources department may interview a
candidate first, and then he or she will go through a series of interviews with potential
supervisors and other personnel. Larger companies may also have interview panels with
multiple members who cooperate to make a decision.

 Describe the two kind of questions in a job interview.

 Behavioral questions: these questions about hypothetical or actual situations,
in an attempt to learn more about a candidate and how he or she act in a
situacion. For example, the interviewer might ask “What was the worst
situation you have ever had to deal in a team work?”
 Stress interview:,these questions make that the applicant feels very nervous.
which keeps the interviewee on the spot may be used. Typical stress
questions include “How do you think this interview is going” or “What makes
you think that you would fit in well at this company?

 Mention and describe the most common questions.

 Questions about you: Interviewers will ask questions about you to gain insight
into your personality and to determine whether you're a fit for both the job and
the company, they want to know you, to see what do you do and also how
your professional life is. Example;tell me about you.
 Questions About Leaving Your Job: the interviever wants to know is you
have a bad past with other jobs.Employers almost always ask about why you
left, or are leaving, your job. Be prepared with an explanation for why you're
moving on. Do make sure the reasons you give match what past employers
will say about you if they are contacted for a reference.why you left your last
job?
 Questions About Salary: they are questions about what do you expect
about the salary .Some of the hardest questions to answer during a
job interview are about compensation. How much money do you
expect as salary?
 Qualifications Questions: they are questions to know if you are
qualifited for the job. The most important thing for interviewers to
determine is whether you're qualified for the job. What are your skills?
 Job Performance Questions: How you performed in previous roles can
indicate how you will perform in the job for which you're applying. Be
prepared to answer questions about what you did well. were you a
good worker in the last job that you had?
 Management and Teamwork Questions: they are questions to know if
you are good working with others. Are you a team player? Do you work
well with others?

 Why You Should Be Hired: they are questions to know how excited are you about
the job Here's when you'll have the opportunity to make a case for getting a job
offer, and the chance to sell yourself to the interviewer. Why You Should Be Hired:?
The New Job and the Company: they are questions to know how much do you know

about the company. What do you know about the company?

 Summarize the steps to prepare for a job interview.
 research the company.
 it is a good idea to dress neatly, as though you are dressing for work.
 In addition, it helps to be organized and well put together.
 It helps to be able to answer questions about material on your resume, for
example, and it is an excellent idea to put together a list of questions of your own.
 After a job interview, it is conventional to shake hands with the interviewers, and to
follow up with a thank-you letter to keep your face fresh in the mind of your
potential employer.

 Arrange a virtual job interview with a classmate. You will carry out a live job interview with
one of your classmates (organize previously) and you will develop it during the virtual
session for July 30th. You will have around 5 to 8 minutes. Go to the following link:

teacher will send feedback to each student through the established channel of communication, according to the
educational scenario of the student. This evidence will serve as an input for the follow-up of the student by their
