IMPORTANT
3.1 Disassembly
1) The replacement set of the pump (see sectional
drawing) consisting of motor (7), rear wall (3), impeller
(2) and slide ring seal (17) can be dismantled without
disconnecting the suction and pressure nozzles from
the pipe union.
2) Drain the pump with the drain screw (12).
3) Unscrew the connecting screws of the housing (1) and
rear wall (3).
4) Press the complete replacement set out of the
centring of the pump housing (1) with two forcing
screws.
5) Remove the loosened replacement set from the
housing (1).
6) Loosen and screw out the impeller cap (20) (with right-
hand thread).
7) Unscrew the impeller nut (13) (with right-hand thread)
with a socket spanner.
8) Press the impeller (2) off the shaft.
9) Remove the key from the shaft keyway.
10) Unscrew the connecting screws of the motor (7) and
rear wall (3).
11) Remove the rear wall (3) aligned from the shaft.
12) Remove the slide ring seal (17) from the rear wall (3).
13) Remove any deposits and dirt on the motor shaft with
very fine emery cloth.
14) Check the disassembled parts for any damage and
replace damaged parts.
15) Completely renew defective slide ring seals.
3.2 Assembly
Clean all parts with alcohol and cellulose towels (no
fabric or cleaning cloths). The outer areas of the O-
ring can be coated with a separating fluid or
lubricant, like water, glycerine or soap, for an easier
Note assembly.
Caution – do not use oil or grease!
1) Press the counter ring of the slide ring seal (17) into
the rear wall (3) by hand.
2) Carefully slide the rear wall (3) over the motor shaft
onto the centring of the motor (7).
Do not damage or twist the counter ring of the slide
ring seal on the thread or transition point of the
shaft!
IMPORTANT
3) Screw together the rear wall (3) and the motor (7).
4) Assembly of the rotating slide ring
Push the slide ring and O-ring combination over the step
of the motor shaft up to the fitted counter ring. Now slide
the conical spring along the motor shaft. The driving end
of the spring must latch into the groove of the slide ring.
The spring end must align under tension with the shaft
step.
5) After having assembled the slide ring seal, insert the
key into the keyway of the motor shaft.
6) Push the impeller (2) onto the motor shaft and screw
together with the impeller nut (13).
7) In the case of impellers with exposed blades, an air
gap of 0.5 – 0.7 mm between the front face of the
blades and the opposite face of the housing (1) must
be set during the assembly (check with depth gauge,
etc.)
If the impeller gap is too small, i.e. the impeller (2) would
make contact with the housing (1), a second housing seal
must be installed between the rear wall (3) and the
housing (1).
If the air gap is too large, a shim (34) must be installed
behind the impeller (2) to reduce the air gap.
A too large air gap causes a significant reduction in
the capacity of the pump.
Note
8) Insert the complete replacement set with housing seal
(11) into the housing centring and screw together.
9) Check the free-running of the impeller (2) by turning
the fan!
4 Troubleshooting
Some malfunctions can occur during operation. The most common and best known
