1. Two bodies of masses 1kg and 2kg are located at (1,2) and (-1,3) respectively.
Calculate the coordinates of centre of mass.
2. Two bodies of masses 5kg and 2 kg are placed on a frictionless surface and
connected by a spring. An external kick gives a velocity of 14 m/s to the heavier
block in the direction of lighter one. Calculate the velocity gained by the centre
of mass.
3. A flywheel rotating at 420 rpm slows down at a constant rate of 2 rad/s2. In
how much time will it stop?
4. A grinding stone of radius 2m revolving at 120rpm accelerates to 660 rpm in
9s. Find the angular acceleration and linear acceleration.
5. The moon is about 3.8×10 5 Km from the centre of the earth. It takes about 27
days for completing the orbit around the earth. Calculate the angular velocity of
the moon.
6. Show that the vectors 2i-3j-k and -6i+9j+3k are parallel.
7. If a=i+2j-k and b=-i-2j-2k find a×b.
8. Does centre of mass of rigid body lie always on the body?
9. Three particles of mass 1 kg,2 kg and 3 kg are placed at the corners A,B and C
respectively of an equilateral triangle ABC of edge 1 m. Find the distance of
