ABSTRACT

5G technologies will change the way most high-bandwidth users access

their phones. With 5G pushed over a VOIP-enabled device, people will

experience a level of call volume and data transmission never experienced

before.5G technology is offering the services in Product Engineering,

Documentation, supporting electronic transactions (e-Payments, e-transactions)

etc. As the customer becomes more and more aware of the mobile phone

technology, he or she will look for a decent package all together, including all

the advanced features a cellular phone can have. Hence the search for new

technology is always the main motive of the leading cell phone giants to out

innovate their competitors. Recently apple has produced shivers all around the

electronic world by launching its new handset, the I-phone. Features that are

getting embedded in such a small piece of electronics are huge.

Chapter 1

Brief About Evolution of 5G technology:

a) 1G:

The first generation of mobile phones was analogy systems that emerged

in the early 1980s. The second generation of digital mobile phones appeared in

1990s along with the first digital mobile networks. During the second

generation, the mobile telecommunications industry experienced exponential

growth in terms of both subscribers and value-added services. Second

generation networks allow limited data support in the range of 9.6 kbps to 19.2

kbps. Traditional phone networks are used mainly for voice transmission, and

are essentially circuit-switched networks.

b) 2G:

2.5G networks, such as General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), are an

extension of 2G networks, in that they use circuit switching for voice and

packet switching for data transmission resulting in its popularity since packet

switching utilizes bandwidth much more efficiently. In this system, each user’s
packets compete for available bandwidth, and users are billed only for the

amount of data transmitted.

c) 3G:

3G networks were proposed to eliminate many problems faced by 2G

and 2.5G networks, especially the low speeds and incompatible technologies

such as Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and Code Division Multiple

Access (CDMA) in different countries. Expectations for 3G included increased

bandwidth; 128 Kbps for mobile stations, and 2 Mbps for fixed applications.
d) 4G:

It is expected that initially the 4G mobile systems will be used independent from

other technologies. With gradual growth of high speed data support to multimegabits

per second, an integrations of services will happen. In addition, developments in

photonic switching might allow mobile communication on a completely photonic

network using Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) on photonic switches and

routers.

e) 5G:

There are lots of improvements from 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G to 5G in the

world of telecommunications. The new coming 5G technology is available in

the market in affordable rates, high peak future and much reliability than its

preceding technologies. The 5G technology has been able to penetrate both

manmade and natural obstacles while delivering speeds consistent with

line-of-sight locations. 5G customers receive dependable, high-speed

Internet access without the usual installation delays and at significantly lower

costs than most major competitors.

How fast is 5G ?
5G speed max out at 10 gigabits per second (Gbps).
According to the February 2020 matter of Prosperity Magazine, average 5G speed travels done
in Q3/Q4 2019 range from:
220 megabytes per second (Mbps) in Las Vegas,
350 in New York,
380 in Los Angeles
450 in Dallas.

What makes 5G faster?

The use of shorter frequencies (millimetre waves between 30GHz and 300GHz) for
5Gnetworks is why 5G can be faster. This high band 5G spectrum affords the predictable
boost not only in speed but also in capacity, low latency, and quality. However, 5G
download speed may vary widely by area.
Chapter 2

How does 5G technology works?

 As with previous cellular networks, 5G technology uses cell sites that transmit

data through radio waves. Cell sites connect to networks with wireless

technology or wired connection. 5G technology works by modifying how data

is encoded, significantly increasing the number of usable airwaves for carriers.

 OFDM

 Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an essential part of

5G technology. OFDM is a modulation format that encodes high-band airwaves

incompatible with 4G and offers lower latency and improved flexibility

compared with LTE networks.

 Smaller towers

 5G technology also uses smaller transmitters placed on buildings and other

infrastructure. 4G and previous cellular technology relied on standalone mobile

towers. The ability to run the network from small cell sites will support many

devices at superior speeds.

 Network slicing
 Mobile network operators use 5G technology to deploy multiple independent
virtual networks over the same infrastructure.

Chapter 3
Features of 5G Technology:-

• 5G technology offer high resolution for crazy cell phone user and bi-directional
large bandwidth shaping.

• The high quality services of 5G technology based on Policy to avoid error.

• 5G technology is providing large broadcasting of data in Gigabit which

supporting almost 65,000 connections.

• The 5G technology is providing up to 25 Mbps connectivity speed.

• The uploading and downloading speed of 5G technology touching the peak.

Advantages Of 5G Technology;

 lower latency

 higher capacity

 increased bandwidth compared to 4G

 higher download speeds

Disadvantage of 5G technology:-

 Insufficient Worldwide Coverage

 Smaller Broadcasting Range

 Weakening of gadget Batteries

 Cyber security

Challenges of 5G technology:-

 Infrastructure Support.

 Increased Energy Consumption.

 Exploration of Tower usage.

 Hardware and Software Upgrades Regarding Timing and Compatibility.

Chapter 4
5G Applications

 Using the Internet of Things (IoT) to its optimum capabilities

 Better business management

 High-quality streaming and gaming

 More accurate information regarding location tracking

 Production of autonomous vehicles

 Revolutionizing the entertainment and education industries

 Waste management and water treatment

 Smart cities infrastructure

Chapter 5

Future of 5G technology: -

 According to a report by Sequoia and BCG, India’s online

gaming industry is booming and is predicted to reach $5
billion by 2025.
 In terms of the economic impact, 5G technology is expected
to bring about significant growth and job opportunities in the
technology and telecommunications sectors.
 It is also expected to boost productivity, reduce costs and
improve the overall competitiveness of businesses.
 The global 5G market is expected to grow at a 17% CAGR
between now and 2028.
Conclusion

 5G Technology stands for 5th Generation Mobile technology. 5G mobile technology

has altered the means to use cell phones within very high bandwidth. Users never
experienced continually before such a high value technology. Nowadays mobile
users have much awareness of the cell phones (mobile) technology. The 5G
technologies include all the types of innovative structures which makes 5G mobile
technology most powerful and in a huge demand in near future.

 A user can also catch their 5G technology cell phone with their Lap top to
get broadband internet access. 5G technology with camera, MP3, video play-
actor, large phone memory, audio player and much more you never imagine.
For children astounding fun Bluetooth technology and Piconets has become
in market.
