Rio Plant starts delivering the first pump units to ALCOA

Back in late 2006 and early this year FPD Brazil was
awarded with three orders from ALCOA/ALUMAR in the total
amount of USD $ 6.95 MM. The orders involved 68
complete pump units with carbon steel casings and ss inner
parts and FSD seals for capacities from 35 to 2800 m3/h
(154 - 12,330 gpm), 12 to 170 m (39 - 558 ft) TDH and 15 to

orders has just been possible because of professional and

production complexes. Opened in 1984, it comprises the companies
ALCOA, Alcan, BHP Billiton and Abalco, performing a major role in the
industry base from the State of Maranhão in Brazil. ALCOA holds a
stake in the two main businesses of the undertaking: the Reduction
Plant and the Refinery. The Refinery produces alumina from bauxite. At
the Reduction Plant, alumina is electrolytically processed into primary
aluminum.

FPD's strategy was fully based on influencing ALUMAR's engineers to have similar sizes and models to the existing pumps
specified since the basic design phase and then to assure our products to be written up in the specifications at the bidding
phase. This work has been developed through almost two years and counted on the support, assistance and collaboration from
various groups, units and divisions of the Corporation around the world and, of course, the commitment and strong efforts of
the Brazilian teams.

ALUMAR's alumina expanded plant is scheduled to startup in the first Quarter of 2008 and the first units were delivered in June
2007 and the shipment of remaining ones will continue until January 2008, when the last units are scheduled to be delivered.

the competition.
The pumps are currently being manufactured at Rio facility and are
