Symptom

The message fails in SAP Cloud Platform Integration system with the following exception:

org.apache.cxf.interceptor.Fault: Response was of unexpected text/html ContentType. Incoming portion

of HTML stream

Environment

SAP Cloud Platform Integration for process services

Cause

There can be multiple causes:

1. The configured endpoint (e.g. /sap/bc/srt/*) is not active, or does not exist in the receiver system.
Because of this, the response is "500 Internal Server Error", which is coming back to the SOAP
adapter in text/html format.
2. You have configured the endpoint of the SOAP adapter to an URL which responds with a HTML page
(e.g. https://api4.successfactors.com), which cannot be accepted by the SOAP adapter.

Resolution

1. Please go to transaction SICF in the receiver system, and check if the configured service exists, and
active.
2. Since this error is happening due to a wrong server URL configured, you need to configure the correct
server URL which responds with a correct format for SOAP adapter, for further details check the SAP
