OBJETIVOS DE APRENDIZAJE
PROGRAMA
The origins of the First World War, 1890-1914: The alliance system, colonial rivalries,
developments in the Balkans, the crisis of June- July 1914 and the outbreak of the war.
Western and Eastern front. Breaking the stalemate.
The peace treaties of 1919-23: the roles of individuals such as Wilson, Clemenceau and
Lloyd George in the peace-making process. Their motives, aims and disagreements. The
impact of the treaties on the defeated countries. Contemporary opinions about the treaties.
The birth of the league. The work and structure of the League. Successes and failures
during the 1920’s. The impact of the World Depression on the league´s work after 1929.
The failures of the League in the 1930’s. Case studies: Manchuria and Abyssinia.
Main features of Tsarist rule: the 1905 revolution and its aftermath, attempts at reform.
The First World War and its impact on Russia. The March Revolution of 1917.
The Provisional Government and the Soviets. The Bolshevik seize of power, the role of
Lenin. The Civil war and War Communism. Reasons for the Bolsheviks’ victory. The
New Economic Policy, the scissors crisis, the economic debate of the 1920’s.
1964-2021
Stalin: The Five-Year-Plans, collectivization and famines. The Purges. The Cult of Stalin.
Industrialization.
The collapse of the international order in the 1930’s. The increasing militarism of
Germany, Italy and Japan. Hitler´s foreign policy. The policy of Appeasement. The Nazi-
Soviet Pact. The outbreak of war.
COMPETENCIAS
CRITERIOS DE EVALUACIÓN
Las evaluaciones de carácter sumativo tienen por objeto verificar los logros del alumno
respecto a las expectativas definidas. Estas constituirán un 50% de la nota del trimestre.
Serán evaluaciones con carácter integrador realizadas al término de un recorrido de
aprendizaje, pudiendo coincidir o no con el final de una unidad. Puede tratarse de
evaluaciones orales o escritas.
La evaluación formativa, cuya finalidad es verificar la marcha del proceso didáctico
constituirá el 30% de la nota del trimestre. Se tendrá en cuenta el trabajo en clase, la
realización de la ejercitación asignada, presentaciones orales formales e informales,
proyectos de investigación, etc.
