INCREASING NUMBER OF GARBAGE AROUND THE CITY AND OCEAN

Garbage has become an extremely common and concerning issue in our cities.
People are unaware that the level of garbage is increasing on a daily basis as a result of our daily
activities. India is one of the countries that generates large amounts of garbage. Growing,
urbanization, changes in lifestyle, a lack of waste management, and a lack of efficient
government plans are the causes of this problem. Garbage is made up of organic, domestic,
agricultural, industrial, and inorganic wastes such as paper, plastics, leftover fruits, foods,
vegetables, glass containers, iron cans, wooden objects, animal feces such as cow dung, hen, pig,
and so on, as well as industrial effluents. These wastes create an unhealthy environment by
attracting a large number of vectors such as flies, mosquitoes, and houseflies, which spread
diseases and emit a foul odor. Garbage can now be found in every nook and cranny of the city.
During the rainy season, it becomes mixed with the bodies of water. We can, however, take
several steps toward waste disposal and management of the things thrown in waste by recycling
various objects in garbage. Many objects can be reused in garages. Composting and the use of
vermiculite can be done in rural areas. It reduces pollution caused by garbage rotting. ‘If the
government manages waste properly, the environment can be protected from pollution.
Let MrBeast be an example.
An article titled ‘TEAM SEAS’ BY MRBEAST AND MARK ROBER RECEIVES
MILLIONS IN DONATIONS written by Chaitra Krishnamurthy. It contains the following: After the
unimaginable success of #TeamTress, MrBeast and Mark Rober are coming together to clean the
world’s dirtiest beaches and oceans with their new campaign, ‘Team Seas’.
The YouTuber duo launched #TeamSeas on Friday, October 29, 2021. In his latest video, MrBeast
said, “For every one dollar you guys donate… one pound less of trash will be in the ocean.”
MRBEAST AND MARK ROBER PLEDGE TO REMOVE 30M POUNDS OF TRASH: The YouTubers’
philanthropic initiative aims at removing 30 million pounds of trash from oceans, rivers, and
beaches by raising $30 million by the end of 2021. With the same project, they are looking into
expanding their audience bases and generating a large number of views that would bring more
awareness towards the cause. It’s been less than a day since #TeamSeas was launched and the
campaign on teamseas.org has already raised more than $3 million.

“Littering is a crime, but they are not enforcing the law. We need to educate the youths
on why littering is bad and the effect litter has on neighborhoods”
~ Johnnise Downs

When you come across someone littering. Stop them right now. Inform them that what
they are doing is incorrect. People will change if you do this repeatedly. If you want something
to change, you must first be the change. Change the bad things you do, and then influence others
to do the same. Simply telling them that throwing garbage anywhere is bad and can literally
harm our environment is not enough. Do the right thing and the good thing, and good things will
come your way.
