ABSTRACT

Stimulation of development and developmental abnormalities in child

development is more widely discussed following more and more cases found in all
groups. Unfortunately, the cases found are too late and even too late. This has a
negative impact on the future of the child, a burden on parents and also the loss of
the potential for labor in the future. The purpose of this study was to determine
the differences in the growth of children aged 5-6 years (Apras) who went to
school and those who did not go to school in the Benai Health Center. This type of
research is a quantitative type with comparative descriptive studies. The
population in this study were all children aged 5-6 years in the Benai Regional
Health UPTD Health Center with a sample of 38 people. The results showed that
the growth of children aged 5-6 years who went to school were all in the good
category ie 100% and the growth of children aged 5-6 years who did not attend
school was 78.9% in the good category and 21.1% in the poor category. The
results of the independent t test statistic in the group of school and non-school p
value obtained 0.035 because of the probability <0.05 so that it can be concluded
that there are significant differences in the growth of children aged 5-6 years
(Apras) who go to school with those who do not school in the Work Area of the
UPTD Health Center in Benai. It is recommended that the results of this study be
considered by Benai Puskesmas to further enhance activities that increase
community knowledge about the importance of nutrition so that community
knowledge increases.
