PREFACE

About the User Guide


This manual is a User Guide for using HcMonitor 2.0 during the operating process, which is
produced by CHC Navigation Ltc.

About HcMonitor 2.0


HCMonitor2.0 User Guider articulates how to set up, configure, and use HCMonitor2.0. This
manual is concise and understandable. We aim to describe the operating process understandably and
briefly, to allow first-time users learn each functions easily, rapidly, and accurately.
Since HcMonitor 2.0 is highly related to Internet IP address, please make sure to remain the
same IP address and do not change your Internet connection type during your usage.

5 Install and Uninstall

5.1 Install
Extract the installation package to local disk, then click [Setup.exe] button to set up the software.
Details as follows:

Check [Do you agree to accept the terms and conditions?], and then click [Next].

[Installation path] window will pop up. Please check both [Create Desktop] and [Create Start
Menu Shortcuts], then click [Next]. Details as follows:

Select appropriate Server Type, and configure related IP address and Ports, then click [Next]:

Then, click [Install Now], to start installation:

Figure above shows that you‟ve successfully installed HcMonitor2.0, then click [Finish].

Shortcut of HcMonitor2.0 will automatically display on both desktop and start menu.
Click the shortcut to run the software.

The shortcut in start menu is under the HuaceNav catalogue, which is called [HcMonitor2.0].

5.2 Uninstall
Click the [Uninstall] shortcut can uninstall the [HcMonitor2.0] software in start menu. Details
as follows:

6 HSA
HSA module is used for backstage service control software. Click [HSA] button under

[HuaceNav] Folder in start menu to open the software. Then you can control the backstage service

by clicking [Start], [Stop], or [Restart]. Details as follows:

Software Interface is as followed:

As shown above, we can select any service, to reset, start or stop.


*Notes: Any related 360 software is prohibited when using HcMonitor2.0, so as to avoid
compulsively cleaning up the backstage software. Especially when operating related 360 software,

please make sure not to clean up related HcMonitor2.0 service.

As shown above: the current registration status, database(db) connection status, and main
server connection status will display at the lower left corner of the index. Details as follows:

8 Help
Help module is mainly used to register and check software information, including two parts --

Register and About. HELP drop-down menu can be called via shortcut key Alt+H.

8.1 Register
This part is mainly used for registration. After installing and entering the index, the HcMonitor
will prompt: Register code is out of date. This informs that you need to register the software first.
Details as shown below:

Find [Help] in menu bar, then click [Register] button to pop up registration interface or press

shortcut: Alt+R.
Type related register code, then click [Register] to finish. Details as follows:
*NOTE1: Either Machine code or Dongle works. Please contact CHC technicians to gain the
related Register Code.
*NOTE2: “Ctrl+V” doesn‟t work when you want to paste the Register Code into the blank. Please

right click the blank area, and then click “Paste”.

8.2 About
This part is mainly used to inspect the software information.
Find [Help] under menu bar  [About], or press shortcut: Alt+I, to call software information.
At present, Software Information interface will automatically pop-up like follows:

9 Toolbar Controls
These modules are mainly shortcut controls to operate the system more conveniently, which
mainly include Add Station, Delete Station, Connect Network, Run All Engine, Stop All Engine,
Default, Translation, Zoom in, Frame Selection, Zoom out, and Full View.

Control buttons are successively displayed as follows:

Add Station: Shortcut button is shown as . Specific reference to 11.1 Add Station

Delete Station: Shortcut button is shown as . Specific reference to 11.2 Delete Station

Connect Network: Shortcut button is shown as . Specific reference to 11.2 Connect


Network

Run All Engine: Shortcut button is shown as . Specific reference to 12.2 Run All Engine

Stop All Engine: Shortcut button is shown as . Specific reference to 12.3 Stop All Engine

*NOTES: Shortcut controls, such as default, translation, zoom in, frame selection, zoom out, and
full view, will be commonly used in station layout.
Default: When mouse arrow is in station layout, it will automatically change the icons; while in
other positions, it will change to be default mouse arrow again.

Translation: To translate the information in station layout, click [translation] button in Toolbar as

first, then move your mouse arrow into station layout, and continuously press left mouse.
Frame Selection: To enlarge the content for a particular zone, click [frame selection] in Toolbar as

first, then move mouse arrow to the zone in station layout where you are interests. Press left
button continuously and box that specific zone.

Zoom out: To shrink the station layout, click [zoom out] button in Toolbar as first,then move

mouse arrow to station layout, and double click left button.

Full View: To overview the entire station layout, chick [Full View] button in Toolbar as .

10 Project Management
This module is mainly used to manage system projects, which includes build new projects, load
projects, uninstall projects, delete projects, project properties, and exit. Press shortcut Alt+P, to
directly call [Project Management] drop-down menu.

10.1 Build New Project


Click [Project Management] [Build New Project], or via shortcut key: Alt+N, to call the
[Build New Project] window.

*NOTES: please make sure you run the backstage service control software, which refers
specifically to [6 HSA].
As shown above, after configuring each parameter, click [OK] to finish building a new project.
The current project name will be displayed on the upper left corner of the index. Details as

follows: .

Click [Cancel] to cancel building the new project.


*NOTE: The new project works the same on either main server or sub server, which means both

main server and sub server can run current project.

10.2 Uninstall Project


If you want to abandon running current project, which has been stored in current system, click
[Project Management][Uninstall Project], or press shortcut key: Alt+U. Details as follows:

10.3 Load Project


If there is no other project running in current system, click [Project Management][Load
Project].
Or press shortcut key: Alt+L, to load window.

Select the project you want to load, click [open]. Current project name will be displayed at the

upper left corner of the index. Details as follows: .

10.4 Project Property


Click [Project Management][Project Property] to examine properties of current running
project. Details as follows:

Select [Project Name] in drop-own menu, to examine properties of each existing projects.

10.5 Delete Project


Click [Project Management] [Delete Project].

Or press shortcut key: Alt+D, to delete current existing project. Details as follows:

Select the project you want to delete, then click [delete], or click [cancel] to exit current
window.
*NOTE: You have to uninstall the project you want to delete at first, in order to delete the

running project successfully.

10.6 Exit
Click [Project Management] [Exit]:

Or press shortcut key: Alt+X, to exit current system.

11 Station Management
This module is mainly used to manage stations of HcMonitor2.0 System, including add station,
connect network, station status management, property, single station position, station layout, receiver
information, and delete.

Press shortcut key: Alt+S, to call the drop-down menu of [Station Management].

11.1 Add Station


*Previously: Tree Structure Menu is the zone at left of index.
Click [Station Management]  [Add Station], or press shortcut key : Alt+A.

You can also highlight and right click [Station] in tree structure menu, and click [Add Station].
Details as follows:

Type Station ID, Name, and highlight server IP, you need to add. Then click [OK]. [Add
Station] information window will pop up automatically for editing. Details as follows:

After configuring related parameters as shown above, click [OK], then you will successfully

add station. Click [Cancel] to abandon the operation.


*NOTE1: We can use the displayed-color to tell the normalization of the station, Details as

follows:

Green indicates that current station is normal; Yellow indicates that current station is abnormal.
*NOTE2: Stations, having been added, are both visible by main server and sub-server. However,
the real operation of station is under the server that you choose previously.

11.2 Connect Network


Click [Station Management]  [Connect Network].
Or highlight and right click [Station] in tree structure menu, then click [Connect Network].

[Connect Network] interface will pop up for settings.


In the interface, highlight stations you need, click [Connect], to finish connecting with are
required stations spontaneously.

[Break] button helps to interrupt the connection; [Exit] button helps to leave the [Connect
Network] window.

*NOTES: [Check All] box can help you select all networks at once.

Above tow operations are both used for batch connecting network in [Connect Network]
window.
We can also link single station. Highlight and right click one existing station appears under
[Station] in tree structure menu, then click [Run Station] to connect network one-by-one.

Click [Stop Station] to disconnect with the selected station.

11.3 Coordinate File


This part is mainly used to assist PPP Calculating. Click [Station Management][Coordinate
File].
At present, [Browse File] window will pop-up asking you to choose a path. Details as follows:

After choosing the right path, click [OK] to export the coordinate file of stations.

11.4 Station Module Management


This part is mainly used to manage station modules, including batch add station module, batch
delete station module, module property, run module, stop module, and reset.

11.4.1 Batch Add Station Module


This part is mainly used to add data storage in batch, as well as data quality check module.
Highlight and right click [Station] in the tree structure menu, then click [Batch Add Station
Module].
At present, [Optional Modules] window will pop up. Details as follows:

Select [Data Storage], then click [OK].

Select all stations that need to add data storage modules, then click button,

*NOTES: Remember to mark [Check All] box under [Selected Station] at lower right corner as

well.

Click [OK] to enter configuration model of data storage parameters. Details as follows:

After configuring related parameters, click [OK] to finish the addition of data storage module, or
click [cancel] to abandon the operation.

Operation to add [Quality Check] module is the same as [Data Storage] module. Highlight
[Quality Check], and click [OK]. Then [Select Station] window will pop up. Details as follows:

Select stations that need to be added for [Quality Check] module, click [OK] to launch
configuration interface of Quality Check parameters.

After configuring all parameters, click [OK] to finish the editing for [Quality Check] module.

11.4.2 Batch Delete Station Module


This part is mainly used to batch delete the data storage of station and data quality check module.
Highlight and right click [Station] in the tree structure menu, then click [Batch Delete Station
Module].
At present, [select station] menu will pop up:

After choosing stations, click [OK].


At present, both [Data Storage]
module and [Quality Check] module of

selected station will be deleted.


*NOTES: Remember to mark
[Check All] box under [Selected Station]
at lower right corner.

11.4.3 Module Property


Highlight and right click [Data Storage] module under the selected station in the tree structure
menu, click [Station Property].

At present, property menu of [Data Storage] will pop up:


We can also directly single left click to check the [Data Storage] module. At present, property
information of selected data storage module will be shown in Content Display Area.
***Content Display Area is at the right side of main interface.

The operation works the same so as to check the property of [Data QC] module. Right click
[Station Property], or directly left click the [Data QC] module you want to examine. Details as

Multi-Path Graph

11.4.4 Run Module

There will be two conditions to run module. One is in a state of not running. At present, the data
module to run this station only need to follow [11.2 Connect Network] to run the station. Another
condition is in a state of running stations. At this moment, you just need to highlight and right click
the data module that has been added into the tree structure menu, then click [Run].

*The operating steps are the same to run the [Data QC] module.

11.4.5 Stop module

There are two aspects to stop module. One is to follow [11.2 Connect Network] to stop the
station: all data module of this station will be stopped; another condition is that the data module is
running. Then you need to highlight and right click the data module in tree structure menu, and click
[Stop].

*The operation steps are the same so as to stop [Data QC] module.

11.4.6 Reset
This function is mainly used to abandon the current data storage and run the data module again.

Highlight and right click the existing data module in tree structure menu, then click [Reset].

*When resetting the data storage module, stored data in current period will be abandoned and

will record time again from this moment to store data; when resetting the data quality check module,
all previous quality report from beginning until now will be abandoned and a new quality
examination report will be regenerated from this moment.

11.5 Properties
This part is mainly used to check all types of property information of stations that has been
added. Left click property menu of stations at left, all selected stations‟ information will be shown in
content display area at right. Details as follows:

We can also highlight and right click the station, you want to use, in the tree structure menu, then
click [Station Property].

11.6 Single Station Position (SSP)


This module is mainly used to locate station‟s coordinate position. Highlight and right click
[Station] in the tree structure menu, then click [Single Point Position]:

At present, we can click [calculate] button to use single station position(SSP) to calculate

relatively accurate coordinate positions.

*NOTES: Figure shown above is the coordinate position after using single point positioning,
which has a relatively large difference with the actual station location. Clicking [Apply] button can
apply single position function to calculate the coordinate system.

11.7 Station Layout


This part is mainly used to check the station distribution information. To do so, we can choose
the root directory in tree structure menu at left. Details as follows:

At present, we can see station layout shown at content-display area. We can also switch to map
as follows:

*NOTES: We can also switch to combined map. The switching button is at upper-right corner.

11.8 Receiver Information


After adding stations, we can check related added station information, including data flow
information, connection state diagram, quality check table, location information, and etc.

content display zone.
We can click [Tab] label to check other information:

11.9 Delete
This part is mainly used to delete station. Highlight and right click the added [Station] in tree
structure menu at left, then click [Delete Station].

*NOTE:Only can those stations that have already stopped running be deleted.

12 GNSS Processor Management


This part is mainly used to manage those calculating processor for system, including 5 parts:
Add Engine, Stop Engine, Engine Property and Delete Engine.

12.1 Add Engine


This part is mainly to add engine.
We can either click [Engine] under menu bar, or use shortcut key: Alt+E, to call drop-down

[Engine] menu. Then choose the engine that you want to add.
Press Alt+O to directly call [POST Engine] interface.

Highlight and right click the appropriate engine, then click [Add XXX Engine] button to finish
adding engine you want.
At present, the pop-up [Add Engine] window is as shown below:

*NOTES: Please select Base Station and Mobile Station appropriately to create the RTK Engine.

After configuring related parameters as above, click [OK] to finish adding RTK Engine.
The method to add [POST Engine] or [PPP Engine] is the same.
*NOTE: The engine you add is visible on both main server and sub-server; however, the real
operation of the engine is at the server that you choose beforehand.

12.2 Run Engine

There are two aspects to run engine. One is to click button under toolbar menu:

By this way can you run all added solution engines at once.
Another way is to highlight and right click [RtkE#] you want to operate in tree structure menu,
then click [Start Engine] again. Details as follows:
*[RtkE#] is default. System will automatically label them. However, you can also name it by
yourself.

12.3 Stop Engine

There are two methods to stop calculating engine. One is to click button in toolbar. Details
as follows:

By this way can you stop all added calculating engines at once. Another method is to click [Stop
Engine].

12.4 Property
This part is mainly used to check engine property and different types of processor data. Left
click the processor that you want to check. Different types of processor data will display in the

12.5 Delete Engine


This part is mainly used to delete the processor. Highlight and right click [GNSS Processor] at
left, then click [Delete Engine] button.

*NOTE: Delete commend can only delete the processor that has already been stopped.

13 Broadcast Ephemeris
This module is mainly used to check ephemeris and relevant parameters of all satellites that can
be searched by stations. Highlight the broadcast ephemeris at left, then the satellite ephemeris can
display on the content-display area at right.

14 Precise Ephemeris
This module is mainly used to download data documents of rapid ephemeris and precise
ephemeris. Highlight and right click [Precise Ephemeris] under tree structure menu, then click
[Configuration]:

After selecting the needed ephemeris type and configuring relevant parameters, click [OK]. At

present, highlight and right click [Precise Ephemeris] button at left, then click [Download].

15 System Monitor
This module is mainly used to monitor each system status, including overload status, net status,

and disk status.

15.1 Overload Status


This part is mainly used to check load status of server. Select [Overload Status] at left, then we
can check the condition of [Overload Status] in the content-display area at right side of the main
interface.

15.2 Net Status


This part is mainly used to check the net status of server. The condition will display in the
content area after selecting [Net Status] button. Details as follows:

This part is mainly used to check the disk status of server. By selecting [Disk Status] button can
we check the condition in the content-display zone. Details as follows:

16 Tool
This module is mainly to access some tools, including 4 tools: coordinate converter, RINEX
converter, Antenna Management, and Antenna Switcher. We can click [Tool]-->[XXX] under menu
bar, or press Alt+T to pop-up dropdown menu. Similarly, Alt+C can call out the [Antenna Switcher]

window/interface.

Antenna Switcher
*Notes: [Coordinate Converter] tool will report error when running in a new installed

system: “Cannot run application since the parallel configuration of that application is incorrect.
Please refer to application event calendar or use commend like tool [sxstrace.exe] to get
relevant detailed information.” The reason is that new system does not install VC2008 Runtime
Library. You can normally use after directly running “vcredist x86.exe’ in the installation
directory; if you cannot find the application in installation directory, you can still run it after

downloading it on Microsoft website.

17 View
This module is mainly used to control the display/indication of Toolbar, Navigation Bar, and Log
Bar.

As shown above, if check box in front of Toolbar, Navigation Bar and Log Bar was selected,
then that function is being displayed; If unchecked, then that function will not be displayed.

18 Report
This module is mainly used to check the quality examination report that generates by station data.

You have to check [generate quality report] when setting up data quality examination parameters.

As shown above, since we set the data storage interval to be „1h‟, the relevant report will be
generated after the data quality examination module has been run for 1 hour. Moreover, the report
will be generated every hour until you stop the operation of that module. To export the interface of
quality testing module, you can directly click [Report] under menu bar or use shortcut key,

“Alt+W”.
