THE BEST TOURIST DESTINATIONS TO VISIT IN KENYA

BY: MITCHELLE CHLOE

Kenya, a country in the eastern part of Africa, has many resources that attract both local and
international tourists. Kenya has a pleasant climate that is quite favourable, a varied
landscape, spectacular wildlife, and an amazing range of nature that varies from the sandy
beaches with palm trees to the thickets and forests found on the mountains. Amusing fact:
Kenya is the only country with a national park in its capital city, which is the Nairobi
National Park.

If you would prefer the sandy beaches, coral reefs, and rainforests that are home to different
species of birds, Mombasa, situated in south-east Kenya along the Indian Ocean, is the
perfect destination for you. This city tends to be the oldest in the country, with a rich cultural
history behind it. While in the city, there are destinations that should be on your bucket list,
including Mombasa Marine Park, Mombasa Island, Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary, and
Fort Jesus, among many others.

To experience one of the seven wonders of the world, which is the migration of the
wildebeest and plain zebras from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, you
have to visit the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Honestly, I would say this is the best game
reserve in the world, as it extends to the Serengeti in Tanzania, making the experience more
exciting.

Have you heard of the Great Rift Valley? There are lots of tourist destinations, including the
Menengai crater and the Kariandusi Museum, an early Stone Age site, among many others.
Has your desire been to visit a pink lake? Worry no more, as Lake Nakuru, a saline lake in
the Rift Valley, has flamingos, and from above, you may see a mass of pink shifting.

Water falls are scenic, and what makes the Fourteen Falls exceptional is that they overlook
the Killimambogo hills. These falls, fourteen in number, by the way, offer a mesmerising
view of nature, including a variety of bird species. Here, you could enjoy diving from the top
of the waterfalls.

In Nairobi National Park, you will find the Big Five among other wild animals. The best
thing about the national park is that it is located in the city, making it one of its kind. A
highlight of this breath-taking adventure is that the view captures the ecstasy of the city.

On Mount Kenya, the highest mountain in Kenya, there are glaciers, tarns, and bewitching
mountain peaks, among many more. There are tonnes of nature activities that make this
tourist destination more ideal, without leaving out the wildlife.

To enjoy the company of hippos specifically in their natural habitat, Hippo Point, a private
wildlife conservancy, is the place to be. Its authenticity and interaction with nature make it an
ideal place to let go of one’s monotonous life.

Kenya is generally a beautiful country, and frankly, there are a lot of ideal tourist
destinations; the ones above are just a few.
