SCALER MASTERCLASS

How to Land SDE Jobs outside India

20220621Tue1800-2100
MohitYadav

In INDIA Coding interview (especially around DSA) is asked for all levels. For
freshers it is of higher levles compared to more experience levels, who would have
moderate difficulty compared to fresher.
CODING INTERVIEWS, for theory only FIRST RESOURCE IIT U tube RESOURCE Dr Naveen Garg
MIT OCW website introduction to algorithms
CODING INTERVIEW FOR PRACTICE: INTERVIEWBIT.COM STRUCTURED FORMAT,
timecomplexity, arraylist, etc progressive

CODING INTERVIEW FOR FAANG interview: LEETCODE because it is arranged coy wise. Imp:
Go to discussion form and see other approaches and compare.
SCALER FOCUSSES ON DP and GRAPHS, because most proggrammers struggle here.
INDIAN QUESTION ARE TOUGHER COMPARED TO OUTSIDE INDIA
ESPECIALLY EUROPE (EXCUL UK). Coys like Zolando, Delivery Hero. Berlin based. Asked Questions
like number of zeroes in a binary number.
Even in USA the level is slightly below India. But they ask technology related
questions.
HOWEVER FAANG COYs are ALMOST SIMILAR to maintain same levels of quality.
SYSTEM DESIGN: 00.27.00- 00.30.00 SD1 will be able to approach it with DSA. Sd2 WILL BE able
to do schema and compare differet DBS.

SD3 discusses TRAdeoffs and design own DataSolution. (They wont discuss DBMS like
Elastic search, cassandra, dbms) but list properties desires. Short term and long term solutions also

SYSTEM DESIGN PREPARATIONS: Gaurav Sen, then Scaler channel. Both very good for beginners.

Then BOOKs.

SCALER IS THE MOST EXHAUSTIVE FOR SYSTEM DESIGN

MACHINE CODING IS MOST IMPORTANT FOR COYS OUTSIDE

INDIA

In India Swiggy and Zomato is famouf for onsite machine coding rounds Extensibility, clean code and testability.
Initially one question to code, then they will give another feature and see how many changes you have to make to extend it.
Clean code easily understandability
Testability.

Some companies (most don’t) outside India may give home assignments like. log aggregator. Multiple servers, build a centralised
system, that accepts log from these different servers and stores these logs. Or Parking lot design.
PREPARE: Prepare thoroughtly for one stack. Front end> Angular React. ///…..00.40.00-00.43.00.
No databases or cache. All Data should be stored in memory. Timecomplexity is not tested, even if exponential.

PREPARATION: GET A GOOD MENTOR WHO CAN REVIEW UR CODE. Amazon has a
good peer review system

BEHAVIOURAL/BAR RAISER/HR ROUND/CULTURE FIT ROUND.

Good performance here can take you from SD1 TO NEXT LEVEL OR SD2 TO
NEXT LEVEL EVEN IF other have done coding round as well as you.
In FAANG this round is taken by techies but tech questions is not given even then.
Other coys HR takes this round.

LOT OF WEIGHTAGE GIVEN TO THIS ROUND.

YOUR PAST WORK, to gauge two things mainly how you handle success & how you handle failure. Then comes team dyanamics.
STORY
(check fo rmanagerrial like how u manage seniors, then peer, then ur subordinates then how you mentor. Primarily about
TELLING, your STORY. STAR METHODS and other methods are used
there.

ALWAYS TAKE FEEDBACK FROM THE INTERVIEWER, AND TAKE

IT POSITIVELY. ALWAYS ASK. Mock interviews are the best way to
treat this round. Pramp.com
HOW TO APPLY:
Best is REFERRALS through LINKED IN but not through linked in Jobs. Say Germany. Search linked in for top it jobs/startups/swe
roles in Germany.
Go to levels.fyi
Go to the company linked in profile, find people in that coy, give a brief message, give your one project or work and suggest a meeting
while attaching resume, competitive website links for credibility, then relate ur past experience with JD. Give job link and ask for a
referral. Ensures that he has all information. Keep a cover letter ready . 01.10.00

When u are messaging in LINKEDIN no word limit. If messages are not open then use CONNECT. Skip welcme profile, just focus on
Past experence and relationship with JD and request a referral. Same process for freshers and advanced.
The above is not true, it is the quality of the experience that matters. Say somebody with 4 years experience in a startup will be preferred
to 15yrs of client servicing in a service company. LEVELS IS ABOUT UR SKILLS NOT EXPERIENCE.

SALARY. Levels.fyi, Blind is also good for compensation https://www.teamblind.com/salaryComparison is this

RESUME: Scaler channels,

VISA Because of Visa process US is difficult than rest of world. L1 and l2 visa

L1 VISA: Change of coys not allowed. 01.28.51. But u have to have worked in that coy for 1 year. So for Google USA, u should
have worked at least 1 year in Google Canada/Gerrmany/India. Using the internal transfer. Rejection rate for L1 VISA is low. If u are
eligible you will get it. But the company should have offices in and outside USA. 3 yr duration, U have to come back after 3 year.

L2 VISA: Spouse can move to any company.

H1B VISA.
Any company can sponsor it for you. Findin the company sponsor is most important. 25 percent chance. VISA interview first, then if
you clear, there is a lottery system. 75 percent is rejected. Because of this companies wast lot of time and money, so very few Indians get
selected directly. Spouse then gets H1B DEPENDENT VISA , but she cannot work in any company.

In EU & UK dependent visa holder can work in any job in most countries. Dependent visa is stronger. U can register a coy or startup.
These are not available in USA.

COST OF LIVING BIGGEST EXPENSE IS RENT

permonth expenses
TAX CALCULATOR FOR EVERY COUNTRY
REMOTE WORK: TURING.COM AIR BNB ETC. But remote work although improves client interaction, product
development skills suffer. No team connect, relationsip, mentorship,

FOR DSC python and statistics is important, but STATISTICS is most

important
