SECTION – 26 32 13
ENGINE GENERATORS

PART1–GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES
A. This section supplements the main contract conditions and forms part of every section of Division
26 Electrical trade and shall be read in conjunction with all sections of the specification.
B. Provide all labour, materials, products, equipment and services to supply and install the standby
generator system(s) as indicated on the drawings and specified in these specification sections.
C. Note that the generation installation forms part of the life safety provision for the project, and is a
critical element in the engineering fire strategy proposal. The generator shall be sized as a
minimum to support the life safety systems and to maintain power to those areas critical to the
business required to remain operational during the event of a power failure.

1.02 REFERENCE STANDARDS


A. All electrical installations shall be carried out in accordance with the current issue of the Institute
of Electrical Engineers Regulations and any requirements of the local supply authority.
B. The entire installation shall be installed and tested in accordance with the BS5514 and Association
of British Generating Set Manufacturers (ABGSM) guide unless overridden by a higher
requirement by this specification.
C. Listed below are the main standards that are applicable to this section:
1. ISO8528 : Generators
2. BS 60529 : Degree of Protection provided by Enclosures
3. BS 60439 : Low Voltage Switchgear Control Assembly
4. BS EN 55015 : Radio Interface Suppression
5. BS 5750 : Testing

1.03 APPROVALS
A. Do not commence final fabrication or erection of equipment until receipt of:
1. Reviewed or Reviewed as Noted shop drawings from the Engineer.
B. The Engineer reserves the right to witness factory test and shall witness on site test.

1.04 GENERATOR TERMINOLOGY


A. Standby rating. Applicable for supplying continuous electrical (at variable load) in the event of
utility power failure. No overload is permitted on this rating. (Usually runs for less than 60 hours per
year) MAXIMUM OF 500 HOURS PER ANNUM
B. Prime power. Applicable for supplying variable load for an unlimited tune TIME with 10% overload
permissible for 1 hour in 12.
C. Continuous power. Applicable for supplying constant load for an unlimited time.

1.05 OPERATION OF EMERGENCY POWER SYSTEM


A. Provide a multiple standby generator(s) for the project as described on the drawings and in this
specification.
B. The generator(s) shall be designed and installed to serve essential power to the life safety
equipment and critical load applications. The generator shall be sized taking into account of the
worst case load scenario, with the life safety systems running, critical load running, and the fire
pumps starting.
C. The control of the mechanical plant in the mains failure/fire alarm condition shall be carried out
by the BMS, which shall also be connected to the essential load.
D. Failure of any single or 3 phase normal supply to either an automatic transfer switch or main
switchboard essential section shall initiate automatic generator start-up and transfer of power to
the essential service.
E. Where identified on the drawings, essential lighting and power loads, lift services and mechanical
services shall be automatically reconnected to emergency power supply by operation of automatic
transfer switches after the generator reaches its rated voltage and speed, so that these items shall
continue to operate as required.
F. An auxiliary contact in the automatic transfer switches or within the essential section of the main
switchboards shall close upon connection to emergency source of power, and shall send a signal
to lift controller of each passenger lift bank. Lift electronic controller shall then start one lift in
each bank and dispatch it to main lobby floor, where it shall stop and open its doors. All lifts shall
be brought to main floor, one at a time. Fire fighters’ lifts shall be transferred to emergency power
and continue to operate after the override switch has been operated.
G. Automatic transfer switches and other devices (i.e. interlocked breakers) shall transfer their loads
back to normal source when normal power service is restored, and lifts and other equipment shall
restart and return to normal operation.
H. Diesel generator shall continue to operate until shut down automatically after an adjustable cool
down period. Minimum of 3 minutes cool down period.

1.06 NATURE OF SECTION WORKS


A. Provide a firm price for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the complete
generator system for the essential services associated with the project.
B. Fuel storage facilities for the generator(s) shall be provided by Division 23 Mechanical trade.
Division 26 trade shall provide all necessary power supplies and pathways associated with this
content of work.
C. In addition, the rating of the set is to be verified against the final selection of HVAC equipment, lift
motors, fire pumps, etc. to verify the optimum rating for the set under emergency fire operation.

1.07 COORDINATION
A. Include for coordination with other trades for the following: -
1. Ventilation
2. Fuel storage
3. Generator exhaust discharge
4. BMS operation of the mechanical plant.
5. Size and rating of the life safety systems and plant

1.08 GENERATOR RATING


A. Prior to ordering generator the contractor shall confirm the optimum rating for the emergency
supply. The Contractor shall obtain all appropriate loads and starting conditions from Division 23

Mechanical trade together with a schedule of standing electrical load and lift motor loads.
B. A detailed report showing load analysis and generator selection shall be provided.

PART2–PRODUCTS

2.01 GENERAL
A. Supply and install in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations a diesel generator
installation that fulfils the required parameters. Locate the generating set into position to
facilitate on-site maintenance and repairs and other main engine components. Provide access for
removal of pistons and connecting rods.
B. The generated voltage and frequency shall be maintained at all times within limits appropriate to
performance class (ISO 8525-5 G2) and suppress radio interference in accordance with BS EN
55015.
C. The generating set shall be capable of running up to normal speed and accepting the first design
load step in the time indicated within the design documents. If no time duration is specified, the
duration the first design load step shall be taken as 15 seconds from receipt start signal
D. Each specified generator shall be complete with guards to protect operatives and components
from all exposed hot or moving parts in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974.
E. Suitable warning notices shall be displayed on guards.

2.02 PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS


A. The equipment shall be suitable for operation and providing full output power as per the
manufacturers guaranteed performance profile under the following conditions:
B. Altitude 10 meters above sea level (To suite the propose location)
C. Outside ambient 50 °C and 100% RH (To suite the propose location)
D. Provide a generator set that complies with BS7698 ISO8528 and comprises a diesel engine direct
driven alternator/exciter, cooling systems, exhaust system, engine/alternator control panel, a daily
service fuel oil tank and engine starting system.
E. The generator set shall be installed and configured as indicated as the drawings and in the
specification. Anti-vibration mounts shall be provided between the base frame and the enclosure
floor to eliminate structure borne noise or vibration.
F. Consideration shall be given to the vibration and noise criteria when the generator is on part load
as well as full load.
G. The generator system shall be designed to ensure that emergency power is available within 15
seconds of normal power failure.
H. The engine shall be equipped with an electronic governor
I. The sets shall operate on BS2869 class or BS EN590 diesel fuel oil.
J. Manual control for adjustment of the automatically regulated generator voltage by +/- 10%.

2.03 SCHEDULE OF EQUIPMENT


A. The generator installation shall be complete in all aspects including the primary equipment listed
below: -
B. Generator with standby rating as indicated on drawings, 400/230 (1) volt, 3 phase, 4 wire solidly
grounded system using a single diesel engine generator consisting of duty / standby rated unit
(1500RPM). The system shall comprise a fully automatic generating plant capable of automatic
starting and producing rated power in the event of failure of normal supply.

2. Exhaust systems complete with residential type silencer: 85 Dba @ 1m


3. Anti-vibrations mount for all equipment, generator, exhaust pipes and silencers
4. Set to be complete with direct coupled cooling fan and in line tropical radiator system all
mounted on a rigid steel base frame.
5. 8-hour daily service tanks to the set complete with all control equipment for supply from
pipe work.
6. Systems interlocks and signaling to all other systems and fire alarm system control panel.
7. Full status/alarm interface capability repeated at the main control room.
8. All necessary lifting beams, reinforced floor plates, rollers and winches, required to install
the set and facilitate future maintenance shall be provided.

12. Emergency switchboard, load control equipment and generator output breakers and feeder
breakers.
13. Busbar or cable connection to main essential switch board as indicated on schematic.

15. Exhaust system complete per set (including insulation and silencer)
16. All equipment to be provided in minimum IP23 enclosures suitable for operation at the
proposed location.
17. Prior to final purchase of diesel generator set submit the following information, contained in
a binder, for approval: -

20. Performance curves for local conditions and multipliers for ambient temperatures
21. Generator damage curves
22. Efficiency of generator
23. List of components
24. Submit decrement and generator damage curves to show fault current sustaining ability of
generator as outlined and plotted against generator main breaker.

2.05 DIESEL ENGINE


A. The engine shall conform to BS 5514 and be an industrial internal combustion engine with direct
injection, diesel fueled compression injection, water cooled type with in-line radiator, running at a
fixed speed, having a heavy duty flywheel for generator applications, continuously rated as
defined in BS5514.
B. The diesel engine shall be generally water cooled, turbocharged, four stroke diesel engines. The
operating speed shall not exceed 1500 RPM for 50HZ application and 1800RPM for 60HZ
application.
C. The engine shall be complete with the following equipment:
1. Fuel injection system, controls and fuel lift
2. Fuel control system and engine speed governor (isochronous or droop)
3. Medium duty dry paper element type, air cleaners
4. 24v DC electrical starting and control system comprising high quality sealed lead acid
batteries to British Standards, of adequate ampere hours’ capacity to provide 5 consecutive
starts each of 10 seconds cranking, battery charging alternator and trickle charger unit,
located in a sheet steel cubicle, mounted adjacent to its respective engine.

a. Engine-driven pusher fan with fan and belt guards

23. Engine instrument panel comprising:
a. Lubricant oil pressure gauge
b. Water temperature gauge
c. Battery charger/discharge ammeter
d. Engine instrument panel to be located on each set
e. Engine instrument panel information shall be repeated and displayed on the
emergency generator control switchboard respective generator control cubicle
f. All local and remote wiring for instrumentation panels
24. Daily service fuel tank with capacity for 8 hours’ continuous operation at full load
25. The generator shall be provided with an engine speed governing system in accordance with BS
5514 Part 4 – ISO8528-5
26. An engine over speed protection device shall be provided as part of the system in accordance
with BS 5514 Part 6, and shall be incorporated into the speed control system.
27. The torsional vibrations shall comply with BS 5514 Part 5.

2.07 AIR COOLING SYSTEM


A. The generator shall be provided with engine driven fans to circulate the cooling air for the engine.
Where ducted discharge is required a proprietary flange to terminate the generator to the
ductwork shall achieve the connection to the ductwork.
B. The manufacturer shall design the cooling system to provide for effective cooling when the
generator runs continuously at full load and on 10% overload for one hour (refer also to clauses
1.6.1 and 2.6.1) in accordance with BS 5514. The radiator core and fin design shall take into
account compensation (10%) for possible ingress of dirt which would normally clog the fins

2.08 FUEL SYSTEM


A. Unless detailed otherwise the generator installation shall include a free standing, or wall mounted
fuel tank
B. The fuel tank capacity shall be as per manufacturer’s recommendation to achieve the 8 hours
continued operation of the generator with full load, including 10% overload for 1 hour.
C. The tank shall be complete with: -

1. Dial type contents gauge


2. Overflow connection

9. Additional fittings as scheduled.
D. A fuel filter in compliance with BS 4552, with disposable filter elements shall be fitted within the
fuel inlet pipe. The manufacture of the system will be such that the engine fuel system cannot
contaminate the engine fuel oil system.
E. Liaise with the main contractor to provide a liquid containment area when bulk fuel storage is not
required.
F. Generator room bulk fuel oil tank, fuel fill point, fuel piping, engine exhaust, radiator
intake/exhaust, attenuators / acoustic treatment, acoustic report by specialist etc. to be provided
complete with transfer pumps and safety systems.
G. All the above details to be recommended, review after coordination with Architectural drawings
and endorsed by the manufacturer itself.

2.09 ENGINE LUBRICATION


A. The generator system shall afford automatic engine lubrication by the use of an integral gear
driven pump. The pump shall facilitate a coarse strainer on the suction side and full flow filter on
the delivery side.
B. The engine set-up shall ensure that the engine lubricating oil dipstick is accessible and marked to
indicate maximum and minimum levels.
C. The generator shall be provided with an engine sump that incorporates an accessible drain point
or drain pipe.
D. The generator shall provide for the lubricating oil system to enable the engine to run continuously
for period detailed within the schedules, drawings or design documents at any load without
replenishment

2.10 ENGINE STARTING SYSTEM


A. Supply and install a 24 Volt DC supply to start the engine from any crankshaft position, by axial
type starter motor engaging with flywheel. Ensure that the starter motor disengages automatically
when engine starts or when de-energized.
B. The starter motor shall be accessible and installed complete with non-conducting protective
shrouds to all terminals.
C. The 24 Volt DC system provided shall have sufficient capacity to initiate 6 complete starting cycles.

2.11 STARTER BATTERIES / CHARGES


A. Provide batteries that have the capacity to crank the engine 6 times in succession when the
engine is cold0°C, with 10 seconds between starts.
B. The batteries shall offer low maintenance, be sealed and be of the lead acid type. The connections
shall be inter-cell with shielded output connections to prevent inadvertent contact.
Shield/shrouds shall be impact resistant PVC.
C. The batteries shall be mounted on either open type acid resistant stands or in proprietary
manufactured ventilated steel cubicles as detailed within the design documents.

1. Provide a battery charger as part of the installation. The charger shall be a current limited
constant-current/ constant-voltage type in accordance with battery manufacturer's
recommendations.
2. Provide an IP31 rated rigid steel enclosure to contain the charger in accordance with BS
EN60529. – IP23
3. The charger shall facilitate boost and trickle charging, include over current and over voltage
protection, provide for earth fault detection and alarm where battery and charging system
are not connected to the earthed system, provide battery on-load disconnection and fuses.
4. The battery charger shall accommodate the following monitoring instrumentation:
a) Incoming supply ON? OFF switch with illuminated LED
b) Charge input and output cartridge fuses.
c) Voltmeter to indicate battery/charging voltage
d) Ammeter to indicate charge / discharge
e) Battery charge output failure detectors with volt free contracts to actuate are mote
alarm.

2.12 AUTOMATIC VOLTAGE REGULATOR


A. The generator shall be provided with a solid state type automatic voltage regulator that
accommodates manual adjustment to set the alternator output voltage within the tolerance
detailed within the schedules.
B. The regulator shall be mounted either on the set or within the control cubicle.
C. An enclosure shall be proved as part of the installation to contain regulator components that are
isolated from the generator using anti-vibration mountings.

2.13 ENGING / ALTERNATOR INSTRUMENT PANEL


A. Provide as part of the generator installation the control gear and switchgear to support the
function of the generator(s) in accordance with BS 7698.
B. Unless defined otherwise, the facilities detailed below shall be provided as a minimum
requirement.
C. General;
1. The control panel shall be either set mounted or floor standing
2. The enclosure shall be fabricated from folded steel to IP31 standard in accordance with BS
EN 60529.IP23
3. A 230 V thermostatically controlled anti-condensation heater powered from non-
maintained supply.
4. Engine control section:
a) Key operated duty selector switch ¾ position
b) Manual engine starts and stop push buttons
c) Engine automatic start and stop control system with adjustable time delay start and
shut down timers where appropriate.
d) Engine speed adjustment trimmer rheostat.
e) Engine hours run recorder.
5. Engine fault protection:
a) Provide engine fault protection, automatic shut down and lock out of service devices
to protect engine against effect of:
1) Over Speed
2) Lubricating oil pressure low
3) Cooling Water temperature high
4) Additional protection as scheduled.

6. Engine instruments
a) Engine speed (RPM).
b) Lubrication oil pressure gauge.
c) Cooling water outlet temperature.
d) Service hours
e) Alternator control section
f) Voltmeter to indicate generator line to line voltage and line to neutral voltage.
g) Ammeter to indicate outgoing circuit line and neutral current.
h) Frequency indicator to indicate generator frequency.
i) Indication lights

D. PROTECTION
1. Triple pole ACB/MCCB rated to suit the full load capacity of the 2.13.4.1 generator, plus 10%
at unity power factor for instances where the distribution network earth electrode is
common to the generator.
2. Four pole ACB/MCCB rated to suit the full load capacity of the generator, plus 10% at unity
power factor for instances where the generator has an independent earth electrode
separate from the distribution network earth electrode.
3. Over current unit protection to protect the distribution feeder cables as well as the
generator.

2.14 ALTERNATOR
A. The alternator standby shall conform to BS 4999, BS5000 and BS 800 and shall be of the brushless
rotating field type: standby rated at 0.8pf output 380/220 v, three phases, 50Hz to support the
essential load; salient pole, self-regulating, self-exciting, self-ventilating and drip proof. Particular
care shall betaken to ensure that the alternator selected shall be capable of supplying the
electrical demand required under the fire conditions.
B. The alternator shall have a solid state automatic voltage regulator maintaining standby state
voltage as per ISO 8528 G2 limits.
C. The alternator shall be supplied complete with the following:
1. Insulation in accordance with Class H
2. Integral electronic over voltage protection
3. Anti-condensation heater
4. Quadrature droop kit
5. Cabling termination facility, steel enclosure (suitable for cable or bus bar)
6. The alternator shall be fitted with appropriate radio interference suppression to meet the
requirements of the British Standard.
7. The starter and motor insulation shall be Class H minimum.
8. Signal to remote fuel transfer pump, on the bulk storage system.

2.15 GENERATOR BASE FREAM


A. The engine, alternator and radiator shall be mounted on a fabricated rigid steel base frame.
B. The base frame shall be fitted with at least 4 no. lifting points.
C. The base frame shall be provided with a suitably sized earth study to permit primary earth
continuity bonding of the generator systems to the electrical systems earth.

A. The Contractor shall install all necessary attenuators to the generator building such that all
the ventilation requirements required by the specialist generator manufacturer.
B. Any necessary fans and ductwork required shall be provided under this package. Ideally the
system shall be cooled solely via the engine driven fan. Should electrically operate fans be
provided the Contractor shall need to update the sets in order to compensate for this?

2.18 SILENCER SYSTEM (ENGINE)


A. The generator shall be provided with a dedicated exhaust system comprising of exhaust pipe with
silencers suitably insulated.
B. The Contractor shall supply and install all exhaust systems, horizontal and vertical expansion
bellows, fixing brackets and exhaust pipe, silencers, insulation and flues.
C. The silencer system shall achieve an external noise level not exceeding from the outlet of the
equipment 85DBA@1M
D. Vibration isolation equipment shall be provided at each silencer.
E. After the silencers the exhaust pipe shall be connected to the individual flue system and pass
through the generator building external wall rising to a height of at least 5m above ground.
Conceal the pipe work from general view with the use of screens and the like.

2.20 CONTROL SYSTEMS


A. Mains failure signals from various ATS and other detection/changeover devices shall be provided
complete with all protective fuse devices and cabling connections from remote facilities (see
operation under 1.4 of this section).
B. The Contractor shall provide all local and remote controls and control cabling associated with the
standby generator to ensure complete and full operation in accordance with the specification.
C. Remote controls and cabling systems shall be provided for the following: -
1. Generator operation signals given fire alarm system
2. Signaling to BMS with BACNet - IP

2.22 TESTING & COMMISSIONING


A. The generator set shall be built and tested at the equipment manufacturers’ (OR REGIONAL REP)
works in accordance with BS 5750.
B. Completed generator systems shall be fully tested and inspected at the manufacturer’s works and
also retested at site on completion of the installation works as a full load system tests on both
individual and total generator system fully in accordance with the standard specification.
C. Control program development and demonstration shall be completed at the manufacturers works
prior to dispatch.
D. The generator system at site shall be fully demonstrated and fully tested at load conditions as an
integral part of the power distribution system with all other primary systems and equipment in
operation, in particular as an integral part of the life safety system. The tests shall comply with the
National Fire CodesGP5CP Guidelines for Commissioning Smoke Management Systems.
E. All load banks and test equipment shall be included as part of the works. This shall include for
inductive load bank for factory testing with loads of power factor 0.8 lagging.
F. Prior to the delivery of the generating sets on site, the necessary manufacturers functional,
mechanical and electrical load and control tests shall be carried out at the manufacturers works,
in the presence of the Engineer.
G. Each set shall be demonstrated at the manufacturer’s works, to a full load test plus 10% overload
for 1 hour to meet the design specification, and also all starting control and protection systems

testing all starting control and protection systems testing shall be demonstrated.
H. The generator manufacturer shall also carry out full site tests and certify the correct installation
on site.
I. Site load tests shall demonstrate the set to 100% load and also the complete system load.
J. The Contractor shall be required to demonstrate the operation of the generator set and
distribution systems over various load conditions fault free for a minimum period of 4 hours.
K. The Contractor shall be responsible for the programming of all tests for the complete systems
with the various specialist equipment manufacturers, the complete electrical services power
distribution system shall require to be demonstrated at full load conditions.
L. All testing and commissioning results at both the manufacturers’ works and at site shall be fully
recorded and included with the operating and maintenance manuals.

2.23 CABLING AND WIRING IN GENERATOR ENCLOSURE


A. All wiring within the generator enclosure/compound shall be oil resistant to prevent damage in
the event of spillage.

2.24 MANUFACTURER
A. The generator manufacturer / supplier shall have local representation in the region available for
design advise, shop drawings, installation, testing and commissioning and after sales service.
B. Submit details of the proposed supplier to the Engineer for review.

PART 3 –EXECUTION

3.01 DIESEL GENERATOR


A. Provide complete diesel generator set as specified and as shown.
B. Mount diesel generator package on structural steel
C. Install complete starting system including batteries, jumpers and cables and battery charger.
D. Provide flexible fuel and electrical connections to diesel generator.
E. Provide interconnecting power and control wiring between diesel generator and generator
switchboard.
F. Install exhaust silencer complete with companion flanges and flexible exhaust connection and
complete exhaust system.
G. Ground generator frame to building ground and/or perimeter ground system
H. Provide connection from control panel for fire alarm annunciator to indicate engine trouble
condition.
I. Provide Dedicated Fuel Filling point for the generator with necessary indicator for low, medium, &
overflow, same status to be reflected in the BMS. Fuel filling point should have dedicated static
earthing link.
J. Provide all fuel for testing.
K. Conduct an acceptance test after preliminary runs and test have been made. Conduct this test on
site after completion of installation. This acceptance test shall be a minimum of four hours’ duration
with full rated load plus verification of the system performance.
L. After completion of above test, perform tests to demonstrate overheat protection, low oil pressure
protection and over-speed protection. Demonstrate functioning of safety devices.

3.02 EXHAUST PIPING & DUCT INSULATION

A. Exhaust Piping Insulation


1. Apply insulation after tests have been completed and approved by the Engineer. Insulation
and surfaces shall be clean and dry when installed and during application of any finish. Apply
insulation materials, accessories and finishes in accordance with manufacturer’s
recommendations and as specified.
2. Multi-layered: staggered butt joint construction
3. Vertical pipe over 75mm: insulation supports welded or bolted to pipe directly above lowest
pipe fitting. Thereafter, locate on 4.5m centers.
4. Use preformed fiberglass insulation fittings or miters segments of insulation at pipe elbows
and wrap joints with adhesive tape. Number of mitered segments shall be sufficient to ensure
specified thickness of insulation continuous around throat of elbow.
5. Tightly pack annular space between sleeve and pipe covering with insulation where insulated
pipes pass through sleeved openings in walls or floors. Packing shall extend full-length of
sleeve, and be finished flush at each end with fire penetration sealant.
6. Insulate complete external surfaces and anchors. Insulation shall be applied in double layer
with joints tightly butted and staggered. Voids or openings in insulation shall be filled with
asbestos free insulating cement.
7. Insulation shall be secured with bands 300mm apart.
8. At pipe anchors on vertical risers, cover steel with 75mm insulation. Insulated surfaces shall
bear on anchor steel fastened to building. Bearing surface of block insulation shall be
sufficiently larger so that bearing stress shall not exceed 350kPa.
9. Guides shall bear on 5mm thick galvanized steel shields strapped over insulation.
10. Re-usable insulation covers shall be secured with stainless steel lacing wire and drawstrings.
B. Special Re-covering
1. Re-cover exposed insulated piping inside of building, including piping in diesel generator room
with plain aluminum sheeting.
2. Re-cover exposed insulated piping outside of building with 0.7mm stainless steel sheeting.
Sheeting and insulation shall be detachable at flanges and other bolted connections.
3. Seal joints with mastic and caulk corners.
4. Secure sheeting with bands 450mm apart. Lock-on systems for jacketing may be used in lieu
of bands
B. Duct Insulation
1. Do not apply insulation to casings, ducts or plenums which have been lined with acoustic
insulation, unless indicated otherwise. External insulation shall extend 300mm over acoustic
lining.
2. Ensure that sheet metal surfaces on which insulation is to be applied are free from moisture,
dirt and rust before applying insulation.
D. HANDOVER TO EMPLOYER
1. 3Provide comprehensive training to the Employer on all aspects of the generator installation,
including means of automatically starting the generator and transfer of the essential load
onto the system.
2. Provide all standard spares and tools required to operate and maintain the system.
E. RECORD INFORMATION
1. Provide comprehensive record information of the standby generator information within the
as-built Record Drawings and O&M Manual
2. Include all testing and commissioning data and log of all maintenance carried out on the
generator prior to final handover to the Engineer.

A. Contractor to provide warranty certificate to all material reflecting model number of each from the
manufacturer as per international standards and but not limited to minimum period of 3 years.

B. Contractor to provide spare parts for all the final fix items as applicable as per manufacturer
recommendation but not limited to minimum of 2%, and these spares should not be utilized during
the warranty period.
