American writers.

Vargas Llosa began his literary career in the 1950s, publishing short stories and
journalistic articles in various magazines and newspapers.
His first novel, "The City and the Dogs", published in 1963, established him as one of
the main exponents of contemporary Latin American literature. Since then, he has
published a wide variety of works, including novels, essays, plays, and memoirs
Mario Vargas Vargas Llosa was only 31 years old when he appeared in Caracas and
offered one of his most historic speeches, on August 4, 1967, with the title Literature
is Fire. The reason was to receive the Critics' Prize and the Rómulo Gallegos
International Literature Prize for novels that year.
It was the time to articulate his transformative ideas that proclaimed the fire, the
transformation, the new page, the decisive impulse, the hard exit, the true inspiration
through which literature should turn. The discursive message focused on his literary
vocation that had accompanied him eternally despite calling himself a “sorcerer of
words,” “daring architect of images” or “dazzling explorer of dreams.” Mario Vargas
Llosa represents overwhelming vitality, scenes of delicious erotic happiness and a
relentless denunciation of political and journalistic corruption. The Peruvian writer is
one of the undisputed artists of universal cosmopolitan literature, with an
overwhelming and authentic work, through which vital existentialism and sentimental
lyrics appear, the lights and shadows of the true artist.

 Conclusion
Mario Vargas Llosa is currently one of the undisputed artists of universal
cosmopolitan literature, with overwhelming and authentic works, impregnated by vital
existentialism and sentimental lyricism, the lights and shadows of the true artist. He
never lacked the lucidity, the madness necessary to assume his vocation as a daily,
unconditional writer of furious immolation.
Its narrative maintains a carefree appearance towards the external forms of literary
creation, because the true battle of the book is fought where two attitudes towards
reality and man are discovered to be antagonistic.
