Bring Your Story to Life with Description


In creating descriptions you will want to use plenty of precise adjectives to provide
details so that things are perfectly clear for the reader.

1. Think of words to describe the items below. Use as many descriptive words as
you can.

a beach house
a dog
a garden
a mall

2. The setting is where a story takes place. A well written setting adds interest for the
reader. Think of a place to describe, or describe one of these places: a monument to a
historical figure you admire; a front yard; a sports stadium; a ballet studio. On the lines
below, write down some adjectives and phrases to get you started.

3. Now write the complete description.
