Please read the user manual and all the documentation that accompanies your Blocks
product. If you don’t do it, you’re assuming the risk of ireversibly damage the equipment
that can lead to accidents and injuries. The user must also make sure that anyone who
operates the equipment is able to do so, and understands all the contents described in the
user manual.
The user manual of this product refers to the “Blocks One MKII” 3D printer. For the correct
use of the equipment, the user must follow this user manual strictly. This electro-mechani-
cal equipment is intended for the creation of digitally shaped parts or models through the
deposition of molten thermoplastics. Despite the quality we believe we have achieved with
this machine, the qualification of the work performed on this machine for a specific pur-
pose is the user responsibility.
The indications in both this user manual are derived from our experience and from sources
we consider reliable, but if you have any questions please contact Blocks or one of our deal-
ers.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the standards regarding the
CE marking, the collection of electrical and electronic equipment waste and the collec-
tion of recyclable packaging.

1. Blocks One MKII should always be used with the accessories supplied with the printer.
3. This machine have moving components that can cause injury if handled while the printer
is operating.
4. The nozzle in Blocks One MKII operates at high temperatures, so it should never be
touched in the heating and cooling processes or while the machine is printing.
5. Never access the electronics area while the machine is on or with the power cord
connected to the mains power
6. Do not use the printer in explosive environments or near chemicals that may react to
high temperatures or electrical surges.
9. The printer should be installed in a well-ventilated area, as vapors that are harmful to
health may be released during the printing process. The recommendations of the
material manufacturer must always be followed.
10. Do not install the printer in direct contact with solar radiation or in an environment that
may exceed the recommended operation temperature, It may occur deformation of
some printed parts that can cause damage to the equipment.

03.1 Unpacking
1. Open the carton box by the correct side.
2. Carefully remove the protective foam from the top. Carefully remove the machine from
the carton. Take special care to remove the accessories that are on the printing platform.
3. During the unboxing and instalation process, if any components are missing or damaged,
contact the dealer where you purchased the equipment or Blocks immediately.

Blocks One MKII already has the firmware installed , but it may be undergoing updates so
we advise you to visit the equipment page on our website and check if the installed version
(can be seen on the screen when the printer is switched on) is the latest version available.
After you have unboxed the Blocks One MKII you will need to go to our website to the prod-

In this user guide tutorial, you will learn how to install the Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 and how to
connect your Blocks 3D printer to this printing software.
03.3.1 Windows
1. Install the Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 on your PC. For that, you just must get into the Ultimaker
Cura website (https://ultimaker.com/software/ultimaker-cura) and click “Download for free”.
Once you clicked to download, just choose your operating system, in this case, it will be
Windows. Once the download is finished, proceed to the next step.
2. When the download is ready to start, click on the file and a window to start the installa-
tion on your PC will appear.
4. When the installation finished don’t open the Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0. yet. Now, you need to
prepare the software to recognize Blocks 3D printers. You need to get into the Blocks web-
site (https://blockstec.com) and in the Tab “Support” select the option “Printers”.
5. Then you have to choose your Blocks 3D printer. In the following example, we are consid-
ering the “One MKII” printer. Once you choose your 3D printer, select “Print Profiles Cura 4”
and then, click to download the Zip folder, as shown below. Click to allow download the Zip
file and when this download finished, open the downloads folder.
8. With the two pastes opened you can see a direct correspondence between both.
10. Once you moved all the files inside the folders of the folder “Cura Print Profiles” to the
inside of Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 correspondent folders you can now open the Ultimaker Cura
4.9.0 application.
12. The installation of Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 and its connection to your Blocks 3D printer is
completed. Everything is ready to do awesome prints!
03.3.2 MacOs
1. First, you need to prepare the software to recognize Blocks 3D printers. You need to get
into the Blocks website (https://blockstec.com) and in the Tab “Support” select the option
“Printers”.
2. Then you have to choose your Blocks 3D printer. In the following example, we are consid-
ering the “One MKII” printer. Once you choose your 3D printer, select “Print Profiles Cura 4”
and then, click to download the Zip folder, as shown below. Click to allow download the Zip
file and when this download finished, open the downloads folder.
3. The next step is to extract the provided Zip folder “Cura Print Profiles” (Click with the right
button of your mouse on the folder and select the option “Extract All”).
4. The next step is to open the folder “Cura Print Profiles”. When opened the folder you will
see the folders shown below. Leave it open for now.
5. Now, install the Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 on your PC. For that, you just must get into the Ulti-
maker Cura website (https://ultimaker.com/software/ultimaker-cura) and click “Download for
free”. Once you clicked to download, just choose your operating system, in this case, it will
be MacOs. Then click “Save” when a small window appears. Once the download is finished,
proceed to the next step.
6. When the download finished, go to the Downloads folder and select the file to start the
Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0. download on your Mac. When a window appears click “Open”. Then
give all permissions that could be asked further.
7. When the download is finished, the shown windows will appear, now you need to move
the Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0. app to the inside of the Applications folder.
8. Now you need to open the Applications folder and find the Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0. app.
When you find it click with the right side of your mouse on it and select the option “Show
Package Contents”.
9. The next step is to open the folder “Resources” from the Ultimaker Cura Package
Content. Follow the steps shown below (the path to the wanted folder is “Contents > Re-
sources > resources “). And then put it side by side with the folder “Cura Print Profiles”,
already opened.
10. With the two pastes opened you can see a direct correspondence between both.
11. Now you just have to drag all the files on the downloaded folder “Cura Print Profiles into
the folder with the same name in Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 folder (in the “resources” folder), as
shown below for the example of “definitions”. Now repeat this process for all the folders on
the folder “Cura Print Profiles”.
12. Once you moved all the files to the correspondent folders you can now open the Ulti-
maker Cura 4.9.0 application.
13. When you open the app you will see the screen shown below. At this stage, you are not
required to create an Ultimaker account, but feel free to do so (if you don’t want to, click on
“Skip”). The next step is to associate your Blocks 3D printer.
14. The installation of Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 and its connection to your Blocks 3D printer is
completed. Everything is ready to do awesome prints!

Attention: It is mandatory to follow this process in the same order as shown here.

2.2. Follow the indications on the screen to adjust the height of the plate by turning the
Plate knob adjacent to the nozzle position in the correct direction (you will have to
adjust three knobs)

3.2. If the nozzle appears to have a lot of residues that can affect it's distance to the plate
please select the option "No" to properly clean the nozzle from all residues.
3.3. Put a thin paper sheet between the nozzle and build plate.
3.4. By rotating the LCD knob, adjust the distance of the plate to the nozzle until you feel a
light pressure on the paper.

Make sure that the print characteristics are correct for the material to be used and the print
quality you want. Also check that the selected machine is the Blocks one MKII.

Note: Print quality is directly related to the height difference between layers. The smaller the height dif-
but also the print time will be higher.

In stand by mode:

mode, to perform maintenance and cleaning operations, the Hot End temperature and
the cooling blower speed can be set or changed. It can also accelerate the Cooldown of

Attention: At this temperature the hot end can cause burns, the user is advised to use
tweezers to handle the cleaning object to be used.
4. Open Cura and select menu “Machine” -> “Install custom firmware”.

03.1 Desempacotamento
1. Abrir a caixa de cartão pelo lado correcto.

A Blocks One MKII segue já com o firmware instalado, mas o mesmo vai sofrendo actual-
izações por isso aconselhamos o utilizador a visitar a página do equipamento no nosso
website e comparar a versão instalada (pode ser vista no ecrã ao ligar a impressora) com a
versão mais recente disponível.
Após ter desembalado a Blocks One MKII será necessário ir ao nosso website à página do
produto e fazer o download do software de preparação dos ficheiros de impressão 3D e
também o download dos perfis de impressão pré-configurados para os diferentes materiais
e resoluções.
Neste tutorial vais aprender como instalar o Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 e como conectar o soft-
ware de impressão à tua impressora 3D da Blocks.
03.3.1 Windows
1. Instala o Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 no teu computador. Para isso, basta entrar no site do Ulti-
maker Cura (https://ultimaker.com/software/ultimaker-cura) e clicar em “Download for free”.
Depois de clicares para fazer o download, basta escolheres o teu sistema operativo, neste
caso será o Windows. Assim que a instalação estiver concluída, avança para o próximo pas-
so.
2. Quando o download estiver pronto, clica no ficheiro e irá aparecer uma janela para
começar a instalação no teu computador.
3. Quando a janela mostrada acima aparecer, pressiona “Seguinte”, assim como, em todas
as janelas seguintes e recomendamos que deixes as definições padrão do Ultimaker Cura.
Depois de concluir estes passos, basta pressinar “Instalar” e dar todas as permissões que
possam ser solicitadas posteriromente.
6. Uma vez escolhida a impressora, agora basta selecionar a opção “Print Profiles Cura 4” e
clicar no sítio correto para iniciar a transferência do ficheiro zipado.
7. Depois de concluídos os passos acima é necessário extrair a pasta zipada “Cura Print Pro-
files” . Depois de extraida é necessário abrir esta pasta.
8. O próximo passo é abrir a pasta “resources” que está dentro da pasta do Ultimaker Cura
4.9.0. Segue os passos abaixo mostrados para chegares à pasta pretendida (o caminho até
lá é “Este PC > OS(C:) > Programas > Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 > resources “). Agora coloca esta
pasta ao lado da pasta “Cura Print Profiles”, aberta anteriormente.
10. Agora basta selecionar todos os ficheiros das pastas dentro da pasta “Cura Print Profiles”,
transferida do website da Blocks, e movê-los (ou copiá-los) para o interior das pastas com o
mesmo nome na pasta Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 (na pasta “resources”), como mostrado no ex-
emplo para “definitions” em baixo. Repetir este processo para as restantes pastas da pasta
“Cura Print Profiles”.
12. Ao abrir a aplicação será apresentada a janela abaixo apresentada. Neste ponto não é
obrigatório criar uma conta na plataforma Ultimaker, mas sente-te livre para o fazer (caso
não queiras, basta clicar em “Skip”). Depois, disto irá aparecer a janela para adicionar uma
impressora 3D e basta escolher aquela que adquiriste. Caso já tenhas aberto a aplicação an-
teriormente basta selecionares “Settings > Printer > Add Printer” e adicionares a tua impres-
sora 3D da Blocks.
13. A instalação da Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 e a sua conexão à tua impressora 3D da Blocks estão
terminadas. Está tudo pronto para impressões espetaculares!
3. Uma vez escolhida a impressora, agora basta selecionar a opção “Print Profiles Cura 4”
e clicar no sítio correto para iniciar a transferência do ficheiro zipado. Dar autorização para
iniciar o download e quando este estiver concluído abrir a pasta de Downloads.
12. Neste passo é necessário mover todos os ficheiros no interior das pastas da pasta
transferida “Cura Print Profiles” para dentro das pastas com o mesmo nome na pasta do Ul-
timaker Cura 4.9.0 (na pasta “resources”), como mostrado abaixo para o exemplo das “defi-
nitions”. Agora é necessário repetir este processo para todas as pastas da pasta “Cura Print
Profiles”.
13. Quando tiverem sido movidos todos os fichieros de dentro das pastas da pasta transferi-
da “Cura Print Profiles” para o interior das pastas correspondentes do Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0
podes finalmente abrir a aplicação do Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0.
15. A instalação do Ultimaker Cura 4.9.0 e a sua conexão com a tua impressora 3D da Blocks
está completa. Está tudo pronto para impressões espetaculares!

Atenção: A esta temperatura o hot end pode provocar queimaduras, aconselha-se o uti-
