CONNECTIONS: (1) The Batman: Their history is a
complicated one, now, but he will always be her
mentor and inspiration.

themselves from getting killed along the way, she’s
pretty sure they’ll wind up married one day.
(3) Commissioner Gordon: Daddy has no idea who
she is, but he’s still a powerful and important
connection to the police world.
DETAILS: (1) Barbara was thrilled to put the tights
and cowl back on... but did she do so too soon?
(2) Huntress and Batgirl have worked together many
times in the past, but it can be hard to have to worry
about how far your supposed partner will go to take
down the bad guys.
(3) During her days as Oracle, Barbara faced the

only gotten more dangerous, and she’s afraid too

ORIGIN: When Barbara was 13, her mother and
father were tragically killed in an automobile accident.
Her uncle, Gotham Police Captain Jim Gordon,
adopted her. Barbara immediately became infatuated
with the Gotham City's most legendary phantom of the
night – the Batman. Completely obsessed with the
Batman, she learned everything that she could about
him. One evening, she snuck into her father's private
home office to discover him engaged in a secret
conversation with the Batman; her obsession with the
vigilante only intensified.
Immediately, Barbara insisted on enrolling in martial
arts classes. She excelled in her training and earned
her black belt within a short span of time. Barbara
equally committed herself towards her academic
achievements; gifted with a photographic memory,
she easily rose through the ranks of Gotham Heights
High School and graduated early at the age of sixteen.
She went on to graduate Gotham State University with
honors before she was even a legal adult.
Barbara continued with her self-defense training, this
time learning the art of Jujitsu under a sensei named
Dragoncat. She attempted to join the Gotham police
academy, as well as the FBI; both dismissed her as
too short, too young, etc. One night, to spite her father,
she attended a costume ball for the city’s most affluent
dressed in an outfit of her own design – “Batgirl.”
A bungled encounter with the criminal Killer Moth led
to a game of cat-and-mouse to test her skills and
dedication, with Batman and Robin eventually
welcoming her in their war against crime in Gotham. A
few years later, at the age of 19, she was shot and
paralyzed by the Joker. She recast herself in the role
of “Oracle,” developing one of the world's most
complex and powerful computer systems and
accumulating information designed to help
crimefighters the world over.
Following a successful experimental surgery, Barbara
has recently returned to her Batgirl persona, swinging
over the skyline of Gotham and other cities once
again!

CONNECTIONS: (1) Amanda Waller: Though he has a
respect/hate relationship with the founder/keeper of the
Squad, Lawton ultimately sees her as his best way of taking
care of his daughter (and his sanity).
(2) Penguin: The costumed-criminal turned underworld
broker is one of Lawton’s best sources for information and
new weapons.
(3) The Batman: They have fought before. No doubt they
will fight again. Regardless, there are occasions when one
will call on the other for information, or even aid, because
they understand one another completely.
DETAILS: (1) Though he’s violent, dangerously
unbalanced and murderous, Lawton has, over time, shown
a capacity for good. He is fiercely loyal to his semi-
estranged daughter, Zoe, whom he tries to support with the
earnings from his missions and criminal endeavors.
(2) Never a huge fan of anyone in the “Bat-Family,” Floyd
nonetheless respects Batgirl’s intelligence, combat
prowess, and sense of tactics.
(3) Floyd Lawton’s been to Hell and back – literally – and
the supernatural just doesn’t sit well with him at all.
ORIGIN: The son of a real estate baron and a banker, Floyd
spent his childhood in the luxury of upper-class wealth. But
he was trapped under the thumb of an abusive father and a
mother who only had time for Floyd’s older brother, Edward.
Though he was neglected and largely forgotten by his
parents, Floyd deeply respected and idolized his brother.
When Floyd was still young, his mother snapped under his
father’s perpetual abuse and asked both of her sons to kill
her husband, ostensibly for the good of the family. Edward
agreed, but Floyd tried to stop him and—in a freak, horrific
accident—wound up shooting his brother while aiming for
his father. From that moment on, Floyd vowed he would
never miss another shot and ran away from the wreckage
of his family to train as a marksman.
One of the deadliest assassins in the DC Universe, Floyd
Lawton, a.k.a. Deadshot, has no real superhuman abilities,
unless you count his uncannily accurate aim and affection
for firearms of all types. Boasting that he never misses a
shot, Lawton became infamous as a deadly marksman and
gun-for-hire, a reputation that earned him no shortage of
trouble with both the law and the Super Hero community.
During one of his prison stays, Lawton was recruited by
Amanda Waller to join the covert Task Force X, otherwise
known as the Suicide Squad, in exchange for a reduced
prison sentence. A thrill-seeker with a self-destructive
personality, Lawton readily accepted the terms and went on
to be one of the Squad’s longest-serving members.
