Rogue Trader Dynasty: House Magistes

Written by Nick Morris

This house is meant to be bad guys. I've purposely left the true appearance behind the masks
secret for a reason. The magistes could be mutants, xenos, sorcerers, abominable
intelligences, or even just so good looking they don't want to get chased down the street. They
could also have a lot more ships than the article details all disguised as three ships.

Dynasty Name: House Magistes

Profit Factor: 81

Lord Captain: Armistad Valorean Magistes

Appearance: Tall and never seen outside of his sealed power armor. He is rumored to be
very handsome beneath his mask. The ancestors of the Magistes have always worn masks. It
is also rumored they are hiding a mutation or other mark of evil.

Attitude: The Magistes have always had a reputation for ruthlessness in business and the
current Lord Captain is no exception. The punishment for failure amongst his followers is
death. The Magistes have an ancient reputation of always keeping their word of honor but
rarely giving it.

Chief Seneschal: Magos Heiros Trent, Machanicus Master of Logistics is an ancient and
brilliant Mechanicus. He served as an inquisitorial acolyte for many years before being
mind-blanked and returned to the Mechanicus. It is rumored that he remembers everything he
learned their in the machine portions of his mind and uses forbidden lore to terrible advantage.

Navigator House Affiliation: The Nomadic House of Gon'Lai, the house of Gon'Lai supply
dozens of navigators from their large extended family to dozens of chartrist ships and their

sides between the two. If forced they would side against the one who forced them no matter
the cost.

Flagship: The Harbringer of Toil, a Lunar-class cruiser which has served for thousands of
years. This ship is rumored to have been almost completely rebuilt with recovered dark age of
technology systems by the forge world of Hepheron.

Other Ships of Note: The Scourge of Telos, The Storm of Fate and The Everwatchfull are
Havoc-class merchant raiders which the family is known to have constructed over the years.
There are rumors that the three ships are actually two and that the third ship does not exist the
family simply refitting occasionally to create the appearance of more ships.

Planetary Center of Operations: The cold zone asteroid belt near the Forge world of
Hepheron houses the majority of their fortress like warehouses.

Business Interests of Note: The Magistes are the primary dealer in armaments and forge
world products from Hepheron (The family has long time business dealings with the cult
mechanicus). They own dozens of private forges on the planet's surface. They are masters of
colonial mineral and labor exploitation to import material and workers to the forges. They are
also noted for having u number of contacts with Bucchari Xenos of the world of the same
name. The Bucchari are large knobby-skinned humanoids with primitive spacefaring
technology who routinely act as mercenaries and bounty hunters for interested parties.
Bucchari are also known to engage in outright piracy on occasion.

Military Forces of Note: The Magistes rely mainly on their ship's crews for military
operations. Their crew members have access to unusually high grade weapons from the
munitoriums which are aboard every Magistes ship.
