KNITTING PATTERN

Note: This hat is worked in the round, from the bottom up.
Finished hat measurements are 9” tall x 8” wide.
1. Brim
With smaller needle, CO 40 sts.
Join, place marker at beginning of round, and begin to work circularly.
2. Body
Switch to 10mm/ US 15 needles TIP: When doing the BL
Round 8: Knit all sts around. increase in Round 9 don’t
pull it too tight otherwise the
next row might be harder for
Round 9: *K2, BL* repeat around. (60 sts) you to work.
Round 10: *K1, K2tog* repeat around. (40 sts)
Round 11: *K1, SL1wyib* repeat around. (40 sts)
Round 12: *C2B* repeat around. (40 sts)
3. Decrease
Switch to double pointed needles if desired.
*Please Note – In Round 1 of the decrease you will be using the backwards loop cast on increase
so that the pattern flows up into the decrease portion of the hat. Normally after a BL increase row
you would have 60 sts but since this is a decrease row you will end with 40 sts.
4. Finishing
Cut yarn, leaving 8in tail.
Draw through remaining stitches, fasten, weave in ends.
