To make the tea cosy you will need…


5.5 mm, UK size 5 or US size 9 knitting needles,
4.00 mm, UK size 8 or US size 6 Knitting needles,
Stitch Holder,
48g Stylecraft Special DK Aster,
20g Stylecraft Special DK Matador,
11g Stylecraft Special DK Toy,
Mystery Tea Cosy Knit Along Part 1 8g Stylecraft Special DK Mocha,
5g Stylecraft Special DK Citron,
Small amount of Black DK for face,
Stuffing.

Divide the Aster ball of yarn into two balls so that the
yarn can be used as double thickness and knitted up
as a single strand. Only use double thickness yarn if
the pattern specifies to do so.

Main Cosy
Cast on 28 sts using double thickness Aster and
5.5mm needles.

Row 1 (RS): *K1, P1; rep from * to end.


This tea cosy fits a 2 pint teapot Repeat last row three more times.
Or teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups.
Starting with a knit row; stocking stitch 24 rows. **
Tension
22sts and 28 rows to measure 10x10cm using Leave the stitches on a spare needle until later.
4.00mm needles with DK.
14sts and 23 rows to measure 10x10cm using 5.5mm Work a second main cosy from start to **.

spout.

Put this part of the tea cosy onto the teapot, it’s
easier to sew things into place when the tea cosy is
on a teapot. But I would advise to sew everything to
the head before you sew it to the tea cosy.
