Purpose of the Survey

The purpose of this Survey is to obtain data on the level of infocomm usage by your enterprise in 2023.
Statistics compiled from the collected data will be used to assist in policy-making and planning. The topline survey
findings will be published on IMDA’s website (http://www.imda.gov.sg).

You are required to complete this survey under Section 5 of the Statistics Act 1973. Your completed return is
compulsory and will be kept in confidence in accordance with Section 7 of the Statistics Act. A copy of the

1. All data provided should pertain to the position at the time of completing the questionnaire, unless otherwise

2. This Survey is to be completed by a senior IT personnel in the enterprise (e.g. the Chief Information Officer or IT
Manager) who is able to report on the infocomm usage of the enterprise, a Finance personnel who is able to
report on the revenue and expenditure of the enterprise, and a Data Protection Officer who is able to report on
personal data protection policies and practices of the enterprise in Section M.

Cloud computing service models are Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service
(IaaS)

• SaaS - using the technology service provider’s applications running on a cloud. The enterprise can use the applications from
various client devices through either a client interface, such as a web browser (e.g., web-based email), or a program interface.
Examples: Microsoft Office 365, Xero, Dropbox, Drupal, Wix, WordPress, Oracle HRMS Cloud, SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite,
etc.

• PaaS - using the technology service provider’s structured platform to deploy the enterprises’ own applications and services.
