    Experiment # 01
    Determine belt friction using belt friction apparatus.

    Objective
    The purpose of the experiment is to check the flat belt with different angles around a
    pulley. The data that is obtained is compared with theoretical values and the coefficients
    of friction is determined by specific formula at different angles.

    Apparatus

     Belt friction apparatus


     Mass hangers
     Blocks of different weights

    Procedure
     Set up the flat belt on the apparatus and place a fixed load of T1=5 N on the hanger.
     Place the cord on the pulley peg in a clockwise direction and add weights on
    hanger. Note it’s value is Tcord.
     Gently add weights to the cord hanger until the pulley start rotating with constant
    speed.
     Note the load hanger (Tcord) and the spring balance reading (T2 ) at which pulley
    start rotating with constant speed.
     Repeat the experiment for angle of 300, 600, 900 and 1200.
