Charity day!

“Have you ever done any volunteering things?”, someone asks me. “Yes, of
course, that day is the most memorable one!”, I answered. Certainly, nothing is
more exquisite than the love between people! This sentence has stayed in my heart
ever since I visited an orphanage at the age of 8. The feeling of empathy with the
kids there would rise in my mind whenever I recall that trip.
During the time I was studying in grade 3, my school held a charity event where
students went to Ky Quang Pagoda Orphanage –home of 200 orphans or
abandoned children. Therefore, I wanted to give away something that could
support their miserable living- condition.
Soon after gathering my confidence, I finally volunteered and got a chance to visit
there.
As I stepped out of the school bus, we were welcomed by warm and bright smiles
from everyone. Then, a row of IPS students explored each room and we met many
kids from babies and toddlers to teenagers. Currently, I remembered most about
their reaction, “Awesome! Thank you so much!”, all of the kids there said with a
grateful voice. Moreover, this visit made my day as I have given away a gift from
all of my heart and also seen these friends growing up in an environment with love
like other youngsters.
Right after exploring around, our teacher organized a game called “I said” along
with the special participation of many juveniles there. The rules of this game were
not very easy as I thought, the teacher will say out loud what she want us to do but
only with the word “I said” meanwhile you will not do after what the teacher says
if her command doesn’t have the word “I said”. The game started with the first
command,” I said all of you sit down!”, the teacher said. We all sat down and next
“ I said all of you stand up!”, she continued. We still stood up but she said fast “
stand up!”, this trapped tons of kids and students. Now, the losing kids will be
punished by dancing after cute music. The whole room laughed a lot as they
danced and I thought:” This is way too cute now! I think this is not a punishment
but rather a performance!”. In the end, we were awarded candies, thereafter, we
happily said thank you, and goodbye to everyone to finish the charity trip.
End: Through this unforgettable trip to charity, it has given me a variety of feeling
that I never had with special memories and made me cherish my life more! As a
result, I hope that more charity events like this should be held to assist the life of
many angels even if you donate small or large, cheap or valuable things because
you have given away your heart.
