LESSON
How to put Text and other Information or Details on CAD Drawing
Drawing Objective:

To be able to execute text or leader application on CAD drawing by putting additional drawing information other
than dimensioning.

DISCUSSION

Text or Multiline Text – is used in CAD drawing to add additional important information about the drawing.
Leader – is used to add additional information on the specific area or drawing object.

Setup the Text of Multiline Text by Individual

A. Go to Annotation Panel, click on the Text button.

B. Go to drawing area and click to draw the text box.

C. Type the desired text information. Then click anywhere on the drawing area to end and apply the text command.
D. To edit the text information and other text style such as font style, etc. double click the text, to open the TEXT EDITOR.

E. To exit the text editor, just click anywhere on the drawing area.

Setup Text and Multiline Text by Batch


- means that after performing this setup, all text or multiline text inputted will have the same configurations such
as font size or Text height, font style and other configurations.

A. Go to Annotation Panel, and click the dropdown arrow. Click on the Text style tab and click the “Manage Text Styles”

B. On the Text Style dialog, configure the text format such as font name, font style and its height. Then, select “Set
Current” and click Apply. Then close the dialog.

C. Then proceed to apply text on the drawing area.

Add and Setup for Leaders

A. To add Leader, go to Annotation Panel, and click the Leader Icon

B. Select the origin of the leader, usually on the


drawing object where the information needs to be
specified. Then, type the information details.

Setup the Leader properties

A. Go to Annotation panel, select on the Leader tab, and click on the “Manage Multileader Style”

B. On the Leader format tab, change the “Arrow size”


based on the desired size.

C. On the Leader Structure, the landing distance can be


changed based on the desired length.

C. On the Content Tab, “Text Height”
and “Landing Gap” can be setup.
Text font style can also be change by
clicking the tab point by violet arrow.
This will bring you to text font style
similar to Multiline Text configurations.

D. Then click, “OK”, click “Set Current”


and click “Close”

E. Then proceed to adding of Leaders


as necessary.
