/ PSA 2023
This year's theme is “Accelerating Progress: Promoting Data and Statistics for
Healthy Philippines,” which highlights the importance of statistics and data in
improving health outcomes and driving the nation's socio-economic development.
It reflects the PSA's vision of solid, responsive, and world-class authority on quality
statistics and civil registration; and its mission to deliver relevant, reliable statistics and
civil registration services for equitable development towards improved quality of life for
all.
With the theme of the 34th National Statistics Month, “Promoting Data and Statistics for
Healthy Philippines”, we are able to emphasize statistics as the foundation of sound
policy decisions towards Universal Health Care for every Filipino.
Let us use this month to foster partnerships and explore innovative ways to harness the
full potential of data for health.
May the National Statistics Month inspire us all to be champions of data-driven decision-
making and advocates for a healthier Philippines.
Mental health is a universal human right. WHO works with the Department of Health to
implement preventive measures, integrate mental health services to primary healthcare
to reduce out-of-pocket expenses and increase accessibility, fight stigma and
discrimination, and highlight person-centered and rights-based approach in mental
health care.
With the recent launching of the PCMH Strategic Framework 2024-2028, we are
optimistic that this roadmap will propel the nation in ensuring that mental health is
valued, promoted, and protected — from the national to barangay levels. Every Filipino
must know that mental health is their basic right.
