ANIMALS HAVE FEELINGS TOO LIKE HUMANS: STOP ANIMAL TESTING

Jane Frances S. Constantino

Do you believe that the makeup you wear, the food you eat, the contribution to
human health, and the shampoo you use may be from tortured and killed animals? You
may not believe me but sadly, they truly tortured and killed for the products that we use
every day. I will convince you to stop or ban animal testing. Firstly, I would like to define
animal testing. Then I’ll begin by explaining “Facts” and “Statistics about animal testing”.

Then I will share with you the happenings and experiences of animals in animal
testing labs. Let’s begin with a question. Animal testing is defined as a laboratory
experiment using animals to study the development and progression of diseases.
Animal studies also test how safe and effective new treatments are before they are
tested on people.

First, the majority of animal experiments do not contribute to improving human

health. A Pew Research Center poll found that 52 percent of U.S. adults oppose the use
of animals in scientific research, and other surveys suggest that the shrinking group that
does accept animal experimentation does so only because it believes it to be necessary
for medical progress. They believe that it is necessary for medical progress but it is not
and the result is a hundred million animals suffer and died for nothing. But In Vitro
Testing researchers have created “organs-on-chips” that contain human cells grown in a
state-of-the-art system to mimic the structure and function of human organs and organ
systems. Some companies, such as AlveoliX, MIMETAS, and Emulate, Inc., have already
turned these chips into products that other researchers can use in place of animals.

Second, animal cruelty benefits us but harms animals and humane society says
that even though animal testing is not required by law (like it is in China), companies still
choose to use it. The animals most frequently used are mice, rats, rabbits, and guinea
pigs. In these tests for cosmetic products, they suffer through evaluations for skin
irritation, eye irritation, and any kind of toxicity. This in turn can cause severe damage to
the animal, or worse—death. Even if you aren’t an animal person, you can’t deny the
pain and suffering these animals go through. But their alternative for cosmetics testing.
Zebrafish for in vitro testing. As zebrafish larvae are considered an in vitro assay
when they are under 5 days post-fertilization, this model complies with the above EU
Directive.
We often overlook the fact that animals are also living things, and that treating
them poorly is wrong. We forget that what we are doing to these creatures will kill us
because they cannot express themselves in the same way that we can. They don’t
deserve this treatment and their life became miserable. Let’s give love, care, and
appreciation to all animals because animals have feelings too, animals are like humans
they get hurt but they don’t deserve hurt. There’s an alternative that they need to use
because this is much better to use and helpful instead of animal testing. Being humans
that love animals we are the voice to help them to survive in the cage of a cruel life and
we have ways to help end animal testing and help laboratory animals. Buy Cruelty-Free
Household Cleaning Products– Buy ONLY cruelty-free and natural cleaning products

household product companies that DO NOT TEST on animals. I hope other people love
them equally and don’t hurt them with animal tests.
