Unity in Diversity

It is obvious to know that everyone is different from each other. Just like how ecology is
portrayed. With different species they create oneness and harmony. In this country where
different people, culture, religion, beliefs, and tradition exists, in a world full of diverse beliefs
how can we find unity in it? How can we see harmony in the Philippines despite the fact that it is
a very diverse country?

First, find the similarities in the midst of differences. We all want to live peacefully, healthy and
have the feeling of being secured. We want to find a place where discrimination, unjust and
prejudiced is eliminated. This similarities can make us unified. It makes us know what everyone
wants to have and what they want to be treated. It helps our leaders to make a one decision
favored to everybody.

We as a human as a rational animal stated by Plato needs other people to help us. We need
other’s talents, work, and ideas to live. Just imagine if people is all similar in terms of
personality, culture, tradition, traits etc. That would be boring, static and far from reality right?
With this human nature we can see our need to socialize with everyone, despite their different
beliefs, talents and ideas. And with this different opinions, we can easily come up to different
solutions to different problems.

Lastly, we should always give respect, understanding and acceptance to everyone. Giving this
things should not be requested rather a common sense. This things can help us find unity and
bring harmony to everyone. After all what makes something different makes it look beautiful if
we know how to blend nicely. Just like different colored, different styled and different species of
flowers, we can find harmony and we can picture a beautiful art guided and designed by unity.
Let us love, help and respect each others difference then we can find peace and unity.
