Introduction

Vital Tech Engineering & Services is an engineering services provider company. We


basically provide services related to BTS Sites maintenance which include BTS Rooms/
shelter, Microwave link maintenance, generators maintenance, Air conditioners
maintenance, refueling of gensets and WAPDA related issues. In generator, we deal in
sales, overhauling, maintenance, electrical/mechanical spares and services. Also deal
in generators of a wide range of brands ranging from 20 KVA to 5000 KVA. For heavy
duty generators we also have setup for dismantling, transportation and installation.
For maintenance we have a huge quantity of best quality equipment available in our
stores which can be used immediately in case of emergencies. Our dedicated
electrical, electronics/telecom and mechanical works related teams are ready to move
anytime to solve BTS site related problems.

providing technical support services to its clients. Our highly qualified staff includes
electrical, electronic/Telecom and mechanical engineers. We keep ourselves up-to-

Services in Telecommunication Sector

I & M Telecom Company is engaged in providing services to different mobile


telecommunication companies across the country for communication towers along with all
relevant machinery and equipment relating to communication towers (sites).

In order to ensure continuous, smooth and unhindered operation of all or any of the
equipment installed at the sites related to BTS /Microwave, generator sets, at all or any
sites, WAPDA, or other electricity supply breakdown, Vital Tech engineering & Services
provides services related to generator maintenance, Air conditioning maintenance &
BTS/Microwave link maintenance and all equipment related services in accordance with
the requirements of client.

1- Power Services

We are engaged in the business of providing Generator maintenance services in order to


ensure complete, effective and continuous operation of the generator sets installed at
sites in accordance with the requirements of the client. We assure to our client that we
have the requisite experience and expertise with respect to provision of the generator
maintenance services.

Introduction

1.1- Scope of Work

Following is the scope of work and responsibilities that we provide to a cellular company
under our service contract:

 Inspection & preventive maintenance for standby generator sets, ATS Panel,
additional fuel tank and allied equipment at least once a month.

 Three visits per month for prime generator sets and allied equipment.

 Provision of emergency teams of skilled engineers and technicians equipped with


mobile phones, mobile workshops and necessary parts round the clock (24 hours).

 On receiving of complaints, the faults would be attended within 2 to 3 hours from


the time, complaint is received.

 We are providing our services for communication towers across the country except
a few regions. Those regions can also be served if it is required by the client.

 Consumables would be paid as per mutually agreed price on actual consumption.

Further detail about these services is described in Appendix-I.

I & M Telecom Company understands however that the objective of the services is to
ensure round the clock smooth, trouble free complete, effective and continuous operation
of the equipment installed at sites in accordance with requirements of our client. To
achieve this objective we have the requisite experience, resources, manpower, expertise
and above all a good network with respect to provision of the services.

1.2- Preventive Maintenance

On Weekly/monthly basis we submit copies of reports on approved format with respect to


preventive and corrective / breakdown maintenance works. A file is maintained for each
communication tower (site) to record every service/visit activity with date and time. This
activity is performed each time, a PM team visits a site. Further, we maintain a regular
service schedule, which will include servicing of units and comprehensive inspection and
maintenance/replacement of parts as per requirements.

We provide three visits for Prime sites and one visit for Stand-by sites per month for
preventive maintenance. Prime sites are those sites where generator sets are primarily
working where as Stand-by sites are those where generator sets provide power upon
failure of WAPDA supply. The MSC, BSC and Hub sites are visited at least twice a month.

2- A.C. Services

In order to ensure continuous operation and to meet the technical temperature control
requirements of all or any of the equipment installed at the BTS Sites our
telecommunication clients have installed Air Conditioning Equipment, at all or any of the
BTS Sites (“Sites”) and in this regard requires services of an air conditioning system
maintenance company so as to provide maintenance services for the air conditioning
systems installed at the BTS Sites in accordance with their requirements. Cleaning of Site
from inside and outside the BTS room is also required.

I & M Telecom Company is engaged in the business of providing air conditioning


maintenance services to these clients in order to ensure complete, effective and
continuous operation of the air conditioning system installed at sites in accordance with
requirements of client and has the requisite experience and expertise with respect to
provision of the air conditioning maintenance services.

We have agreement with different clients to whom we provide air conditioning


maintenance & BTS site cleaning services round the clock at the sites to their complete
satisfaction.

Maintenance services of the Air Conditioning Equipment include:

ensure round the clock smooth, trouble free complete, effective and continuous operation
of the equipment installed at sites in accordance with requirements of our client. And to
achieve this objective we have the requisite experience and expertise with respect to
provision of the services.

2.2- Preventive Maintenance


I & M Telecom Company visit sites once every month regularly for provision of services.
During such monthly visit we inspect and provide routine maintenance and service to the
air conditioning equipment installed at the sites.

We submit on a monthly basis, copies of reports on approved format with respect to


Preventive and Breakdown Maintenance works. Our routine visit teams place service visit

report for each unit recording every service activity with date and time. Further we
maintain a Yearly Service Schedule which will include complete servicing of units,
alignment and balancing of all moveable parts.

3- BTS/Microwave Services

We are engaged in the business of providing maintenance of BTS sites including


microwave link of different brands in order to ensure complete, effective and continuous
operation of the microwave links between different sites in accordance with the
requirements of the client. We assure to our client that we have the requisite experience
and expertise with respect to provision of the BTS/Microwave maintenance services.

3.1- Scope of Work

Following is the scope of work and responsibilities that we provide to a cellular company

Modules, removal of alarms etc.

 Inspection & preventive maintenance for Batteries & Rectifiers

 Preventive maintenance of microwave links at the sites.

 Inspection & preventive maintenance of Power Supply Systems & Tower

 Provision of emergency teams of skilled engineers and technicians equipped with


mobile phones, mobile workshops and necessary parts round the clock (24 hours).

 On receiving of complaints, the faults would be attended within 2 to 3 hours from


the time, complaint is received.

 We are providing our services for communication towers across the country except
South. It can also be served if it is required by the client.

3.2- Preventive Maintenance

inspection and maintenance of parts as per requirements.

4- Refueling

I & M Telecom Company is engaged for the provision Diesel/Fuel to standby and as well
as to Prime sites on all the sites 7-24 basis in order to ensure complete, effective and
continuous operation of the gensets installed at different sites.
We assure to our client that we have the requisite experience and expertise for provision
of Diesel/fuel.
Detail about the scope of work is described in Appendix-III.

5- WAPDA Related Issues

For continuous operation of sites, Power is the main component. If there is fault /problem
in the Power supply then sites comes on generator and genset works as prime by which
running cost of the site increases exponentially. Also sites go on genset due to
commercial /non Commercial reasons.

We provide services to resolve the WAPDA issues on the sites


Detail about the scope of work is described in Appendix-IV.

6- Site acquisition and TMA related Issues

For the installation of the new sites, site acquisition and NOC from TMA is also the key
factor. VES is also involved in getting the places for the sites and to get the NOC from the
relevant Govt. bodies/TMA.

7- Operation Department (Corrective Maintenance)

Introduction

I & M Telecom Company provide corrective maintenance to clients through its operation
department. This department maintains a help desk and emergency on-call teams of
skilled technicians and engineers equipped with mobile phones and necessary tools round
the clock. The said teams are available 24 hrs a day and 7 days a week to cater all/any
emergency complaint for the equipment installed at sites. Vital Tech Engineering &
Services provides update on-call roster with contact numbers of the technicians and
engineers to client for the purpose of establishing immediate contact in case of
emergency.

We entertain unlimited emergency visits (charged according to mutual


understanding/agreement) to our client for provision of services every month. In case of
emergency, our client contacts operation department which immediately deputes an
emergency team ready to attend the emergency call. Operation department is committed
to ensure that its technicians/engineers attend the sites immediately after the matter is

reported at “emergency cell number”, regardless of the time of the day/night when the
matter is reported. Operation department ensure that its technicians/engineers

investigate and remove the causes of breakdown/malfunction in a prompt and


expeditious manner and remain engaged in the rectification of the problem until the
operation of the equipment is restored to the satisfaction of the client. Our
technicians/engineers do not leave the site, until they ensure their level best that site
problem has been rectified and site alarms are clear, from operation department. Our
emergency teams also maintain a logbook placed at the site to record the emergency-
visit-activities.

In case of emergency or otherwise if the equipment cannot be repaired at the site and
has to be removed from the site to be taken to our workshop for repair, in such a case
our teams immediately replace the defective equipment with the temporary equipment of
the same specification till the time that the defective equipment is repaired and
reinstalled at the site. We have sufficient number of temporary equipment for the
purpose of installation in place of the defective equipment and same is immediately
installed in place of defective equipment in case of need.

8- In-house Spares’ Inventory

To provide round the clock smooth, trouble free complete, effective and continuous
operation of the equipment installed at sites in accordance with requirements of our
client, Vital Tech Engineering & Services maintains an inventory of parts where we have
sufficient number of equipment for the purposes of installation in place of the defective
equipment which is immediately installed in place of defective equipment if required.

Similarly this in-house inventory stock is also very helpful for the maintenance of the
equipment and to make replacements of all faulty parts (whether in case of emergency or
during routine visits) at the earliest. We ensure that genuine and best quality spare parts
are used while carrying out the services (including emergency services and preventive
maintenance).

9- Man Power

We have a more than 350 professionals for the provision of services at Site(s) who are
adequately and suitably qualified, competent, experienced and equipped with appropriate
requisite equipment, to execute the services to the entire and complete satisfaction of
our client continuously and in a professional manner. Vital Tech Engineering & Services
maintains at all times, strict discipline and good order among all persons employed to
perform the services.
All our employees and personnel comply fully with all site rules for each BTS Site and
with all applicable decrees, laws, regulations, rules, orders and ordinances of any

governmental and other authorities having jurisdiction. We ensure that all persons either
employed or supplied by us to perform the services are aware of and comply with all site
rules.

We provide all necessary personal protective equipment to our staff which is essential for
undertaking the maintenance works in safe and sound manner.

We assure that the Services are executed and completed with the greatest possible care,
in a professional manner and in accordance with mutually agreed requirements.

10- New Sites

10.1- New sites absorption capacity

We are capable to handle more than 1000 sites through out the Country.
We will be bound to visit sites once every month regular compulsorily for provision of
services. The contractor during such monthly visit shall inspect and provide routine
maintenance and services to the equipment installed at the sites. It is hereby clarified for
the convenience of parties that the monthly visit of the contractor as envisaged herein
shall not be affected and shall be in addition to all or any emergency visits made by the
contractor to the sites.

We also provide services related to commissioning of new generators at the site. Any kind
of equipment and technical support needed for a newly installed site can be provided on
the spot with in a short notice.

10.3- Additional Fuel Tank installation

To provide/install a new additional fuel tank with a generator set, we also have a
workshop where we manufacture these tanks. Our rates are competitive than any fuel
tank provider in the market. These tanks are manufactured with state of the art designs
using best quality raw material which can be compared with any good Fuel tank provider
in the market.

10.4- Installation of other power related equipment

We have engineers and technical experts who have a great experience in the field of
power related equipment installation, especially in the field of communication towers.
These engineers/technicians can provide services, related to installation of any power
related equipment.

11- Clients
Our main client in the field of telecommunication is:
 Mobiserve (Mobilink)

For all above client we are providing different kind of engineering services in North region
( Khyber, Charsadda and Nowshera areas) and maintaining 118 sites on turnkey basis.

We are Doing CM/PM of BSS/Transmission/Microwave, Genset Maintenance, Air


Conditioning, AC Commercial Power and Re- Fuelling of the sites

Our operation department is committed to eliminate down time. Officers at operation


department log each call and all activities, carried out related to that call. This log file is
sent daily to the client to keep them aware of emergency situation.

Similarly preventive maintenance (PM) visit reports are also sent monthly to the client to
keep them updated about sites condition/activities. Monthly meeting with our client have
proved very helpful in discussing different issues related to sites.

We have country wide network of our offices from where our teams can move to any site
easily. Each office has been assigned a region for maintenance of communication towers.
An office specified for a region performs its duties as a completely independent entity.
Each office has its own inventory for electrical/mechanical spares, vehicles, manpower,
and schedule of routine visits. However all sub office branches are controlled from our
head office here at Lahore.

In case of an emergency situation at any site, our client informs us at operation


department’s cell nos. our officers in operation department then forward that call to an
emergency team in different regions.

WAPDA Related Issues

Issues related to WAPDA System


The power Supply failure may occur due to one or both of the following reasons.
1- Technical Reasons
2- Commercial or Non Technical Reasons
1- Supply Failure due to Technical Reasons
 Burning/Defective Existing Transformers
 Defective Drop out Cut out
 Lose/Off size HT/LT Jumpers
 Burning/Defective of LT PVC 4 Core Cable
 Burning/Defective 3 Phase, 4 Wire Energy Meter
 Burning of Out Going Cable from Meter to Main Board
Remedy:
The restoration of power supply within the shortest possible time will be the responsibility of
Vital Tech Engineering Services. The following terms and conditions will apply.
A: Issues where Additional/New Material is required for restoration of supply.
o Additional/New Material is required to replace the defective electrical system; the
Company will get a Demand Notice from Wapda Authority and will submit to the
customer for its payment with in Fifteen Date. In case of due date expires, for the
revalidation of Demand Notice and Extension in its due date for payment, the
Company will charge an additional amount of @ 20 % along with the original
amount of Demand Notice.
o There might be cases of theft of Transformer, cable or energy meter etc. In all such
cases, FIR is the requirement of WAPDA field stores, so the lodging of an FIR will
be the responsibility of site Chokidar. In Case of no FIR supplied by the Chokidar,
the Company will charge an additional amount of RS.5000/ as FIR charges.
o The supply will be resorted in a period not more than one day (except some
exceptional cases).
B: No Additional Material is required.
o The restoration of supply will be the responsibility of the Company within shortest
possible time.

2- Supply Failure due to Commercial/Non Technical Reasons:


 Disconnection of Supply due to Non/Late Payment of WAPDA Dues
 Any additional amount imposed by WAPDA like Audit note, Detection Bill etc.
Remedy:
 The company will be responsible for restoration of supply within 24 hrs in case of non
payment of one month bill and will be paid by the customer within next 7 days. In case
the payment of two consecutive bills is short, the company will have to pay additional
amount of Rs. 5000/- as Reconnection Charges.
 The payment of additional bills (Demand Notices) will also be payable by the
customer.

WAPDA New Connections:

 For new connections VES will be responsible for whole process of getting a Demand
Notice, its payment and then installation of a new electricity connection for BTS sites.
 The payment of Demand Notice amount will be arranged by the the customer within 5
to 7 days. Installation of meter connection will be the responsibility of VES.
 The Paid Demand Notice will be Re-submitted to the customer for office record.

5 Condition of cable entries and sealing of power and grounding cables
6 Repair or replace the lock of Power distribution box if found broken.
7 Repair the Power distribution box if rusted.

Introduction

1 Fixing and condition of the climbing ladders and safety rail/wire


2 All feeder connectors should be checked and weather proofed
3 Condition of tower painting or galvanization, perform painting on rusted
parts after cleaning with steel brush.
4 Any damage to fixture should be reported
5 Checking of at least 50% of bolts with torque wrench
6 Checking of Amp’s and feeder grounding, perform waterproofing if
required.
7 Checking of copper strips for feeder grounding, clean them if rusted,
change the screws, nuts and washers is rusted.
8 Checking of tower lights, if it is not working, identify the problem e.g. bulb
faulty, circuit faulty.
9 Provide the make and manufacturer in report.
