Language education : The importance of

English nowadays

Language is our primary source of communication.

English is the international standard language of communication. In our
daily life, it is impossible to communicate and expand our knowledge
without English.
The majority of books, magazines, journals and newspapers are printed in
English.
There are thousands of languages in the world.

But why learn English nowdays?

Nowdays, English is the primary language not only of countries actively affected
by British imperialism, but also of many commercial and cultural spheres
dominated by these countries. It's the language of Hollywood and the language
of banking and international business.
As such, it's a useful and even necessary language to know.

1. English is the common international language

Many factors make the English language essential to communication in today's
world.
- Firstly, even for those who don't use English as their main language, it's
a very common second language in many cultures. This means that two
people from different countries (for example, a Mexican and a Swede)
generally use English as a common language for communication.
 - Secondly, Speaking English will help you communicate with people from
countries all over the world, not just English-speaking ones. That applies
whether you're traveling, doing business, or communicating with others
on social media.

2. It's the Language of Academia

English is also essential in education. In many countries, children are taught

and encouraged to learn English as a second language. Even in countries
where it's not an official language, such as the Netherlands or Sweden, we'll
find that many science and engineering programs are written in English.

3. It's Favored by the Internet and Press

On the internet, the majority of websites use English. Even sites in other
languages often give you the option to translate the site.
So English is the big winner when it comes to the Internet, with over 50% of
content in this language.

4. English Is Useful for International Travel

A good understanding of English communication makes it easier to travel the

world. Because it is the main international language common to foreigners,
knowledge of English makes it easy to get help and assistance in many parts
of the world.
After all, around one in five people knows or understands at least some English,
which is the case for no other language.
And it's a good language to know for navigating airports and other transport
hubs.

5. It's Essential for International Business

Learning English will make you more employable for companies all the world.
English language skills are likely to help you in any venture you choose to
