MIDWEEK
- THEME SCRIPTURE
- Matthew 6:33 "But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His
kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right-the attitude
and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also."
GOAL
To teach students the importance of starting your day off with God. As we
stand against a culture that fights for these students' attention, let's show how
easy and life changing it is to begin everyday with worship, prayer, and the
word. Students have learned about the life
changing power of each of these things through the last few months, but now
LET'S GET PRACTICAL!
OVERVIEW
First Things First - Address some of the benefits of seeking FIRST the kingdom
of God. Speak about what happens when you begin your day with Him, the
comfort, the peace,
and the confidence you can step into the rest of your day.
• "Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play
before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage.
The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his
grace"
• Students can experience Jesus anywhere - if they could find a place, be
honest, and turn their attention to Jesus in prayer, worship, and the
word they will find Him in that place.
• They need to have the discipline to wake up and meet him, this
relationship is not earned but to steward and grow it God does ask us
to move.
• Have a moment to show students what this would look like. For example,
" I wake up, I grab my bible, and I have a bible plan to help me know
what to read. Then I ask God to be with me today, to lead me and guide
me, and to help me light in the darkness of my school. Lastly I worship to
tell God what he already knows, how thankful I am for him, to direct my
attention onto him.

OVERVIEW
Surrender -Address what it looks like to live a life fully surrendered to God.
Speak into what it looks like to live a daily lifestyle of surrender choosing to
deny ourselves and follow after Jesus and His will for our life
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must
deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants
to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. -
Matthew 16:24-25
• Have practical examples of what it looks like to say No to the world and
Yes to what Jesus has for us daily.
• Explain to the students how you find life when you choose to lose it for
Jesus as described in the verse above.
• Take a moment to have students think about what it is in their life
currently that they know needs to be surrendered to Jesus.

LEADER MEETING GUIDE
VISION: The goal of this meeting is to celebrate all that God is doing and to pastor the people who are pastoring
our students. We want every leader at every campus to be equipped, encouraged, and empowered. Something to
consider is most people came straight from work to be there, so this meeting gives them a time to slow down and
receive before leading. This meeting can also serve as a time to give your leaders opportunities to show leadership
through sharing stories, praying, etc.
SUGGESTED FLOW:
- Have everyone sit down
- 2 min welcome/ share wins (Motion Night salvations, story from week before)
- 2 min vision for the night
- 1 0 min leadership teaching / resourcing if needed (ie SOAP)
- Prayer + breakdown
WEEK 1
THEME SCRIPTURE:
● Mark 12:29-31 (NLT) Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord
our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all
your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No
other commandment is greater than these.”
GOAL:
● To teach students that when we love God with ALL that we have, we can then love others well. Help
students to understand that when we are in a relationship with God, we can’t help but become more like
him. He creates in us a pure heart and teaches us how to live a pure life—so that we can love others well.
Let’s get practical in addressing the different ways we can live a pure life!
OVERVIEW:
● Purity - Address the different areas of our lives where we have to guard ourselves in purity, and
regularly return to God when we fa it ll short. Get really practical with students in the different areas
where God defines a pure life style, and provide students with examples of these. Help them to see the
simple ways we can turn and make choices that allow us to be pure and keep God first in our lives.
○ “In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and
clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday
use. If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be
clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.” 2 Timothy 2:20-21
(NLT)
○ Pure in heart:
■ Example – Are students struggling to forgive someone? Is respecting their parents hard?
■ Example verses – Proverbs 4:23 (NLT), Psalm 51:10 (NLT), Revelation 2:4-5 (ESV)
○ Pure in mind:
■ Example – What are students watching, listening to, or reading? Who are they
following on Tik Tock or Instagram that they probably need to unfollow?
■ Examples of verses –Philippians 4:8 (NLT), Romans 12:2 (NLT), Psalm 129:23-24 (NLT)
○ Pure in body:
■ Example – How do students treat their body—do they struggle with substances, do
they live a healthy lifestyle, are they doing things just because it makes their body feel
good in a moment?
■ Example verse –1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (NLT), 1 Corinthians 10:23 (NLT)
○ Pure in speech:
■ Example – How are students talking to their friends, their parents, their teachers? Do
they struggle with gossip?
■ Example verses –Ephesians 4:29 (NLT), Luke 6:45 (NLT)
○ Pure in relationships:
■ Example —Are students in a relationship that they don’t need to be in?Are they
friends with the wrong people? What should those relationships look like?
■ Example verses – Psalm 1:1-3 (NIV), 2 Corinthians 6:14 (NLT)
QUESTIONS:
1. What do you think it looks like to love God with your whole heart, soul, mind, and strength?
2. How can you put your relationship with God first tomorrow?
3. What area of your life do you think needs to be surrendered to God?
4. Which part of your life do you think is the hardest to keep pure?
5. How would you love God if you knew he saw you completely pure?
WEEK 2
THEME SCRIPTURE:
● Mark 12:28-31
One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a
good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”“The most
important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the
Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your
strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater
than these."
GOAL:
● Loving your neighbor first starts with loving yourself, that is what we discussed last week so this week we
are going to talk about how to love those around you well.
● It is important when it comes to relationships with friends and with the girls/guys to honor and respect
those around you.
OVERVIEW:
Often when it comes to relationships we have a wrong perspective/expectation of people and that's
something we need to clear up.
b. Without Jesus we are all a mess, we need forgiveness and we make mistakes
Dating: “The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
