Present Simple: timetable with future meaning

The plane takes off at 10.30 ( every day so tomorrow as well )

Present Continous: arranged future, „calendar-mode”

We are leaving the kids with Granny on Friday because we are spending the weekend abroad

be going to: near future – She is going to arrive soon.

intention – I’m going to buy that iPad.

signs referring to the future – She is going to have a baby.

+ earlier decision - I’m going to call you tonight.

Future Simple: prediction – I will be an angineer.

opinion – I hope you will like my new novel

+ spontaneous decision – OK, I’ll call you.

Future Continuous: an actual event at a given future moment

We will be having dinner when you arrive.

Future Perfect: an action to finish by a future date

They will have been married for 15 years by June.

( Present Perfect: only in subordinate clauses with future implication

I will let you know when I have finished writing this email)
