FUTURE FORMS:

1. Present Continuous: AM/IS/ARE + VERB + ING

 future arrangements – lefixált programok a jövőben:

Next Friday we are travelling to Rome. (le van zsírozva: megvan a repjegy, szállás stb.)

2. Present Simple

 timetables, schedules, movies, TV programs, trains, buses, flights, classes stb.

Tomorrow my plane leaves at 6 pm.

The movie starts at 8 tonight.
This exhibition finishes on 3 May.
My English class ends at 5.30 next Friday.

3. AM/IS/ARE + GOING TO + VERB

 for a plan, decision or intention (szándék):

After university, I am going to start working at a company. (ez a terv, de nem tuti)

 predictions (jóslat) based on signs/facts:

There are black clouds in the sky. It is going to rain. (nagy valószínűséggel, de nem biztos)

(was/were going to verb  úgy volt, hogy vmi lesz…. de nem úgy lett)
(We were going to have a party on Friday, but we had a party on Saturday instead.)
(Úgy volt, hogy péntekek tartunk bulit, de helyette szombaton tartottuk.)

4. Future Simple: WILL + VERB

 random decisons:
A: Oh I’m so hungry. B: I’ll cook you something.
A: I can’t meet my friends because I have small kids. B: I’ll babysit.

 personal predictions based on feelings:

I’m sure Lajos will pass the exam. Tom doesn’t think I will call him.
(Lajos biztos benne, hogy átmegy a vizsgán.) (Tom nem hiszi, hogy fel fogom hívni.)
  hope, think, expect, believe, guess, suppose, assume (jövőre utalóan):
I hope you will feel ok soon. (Remélem, hamarosan jól érzed majd magad.)
We expect that the teacher will be very strict. (Számítunk arra, hogy a tanár szigorú lesz.)

 promises, threats (fenyegetések), ultimatums, warnings:

I won’t tell your secret to anyone. Give me your money or I’ll shoot you.

 Távoli jövőben valószínűsíthető események:

In 2080 people will drive flying cars. In the next 50 years people will probably suffer from water shortage.
( A következő 50 évben az emberek valószínűleg vízhiánytól fognak szenvedni)

 FACTS:
I will be 33 next month.

 FIRST CONDITIONAL: IF + Present Simple, WILL + verb

If you come to my party, I will dance with you. (COMMA-vessző!)

=
I will dance with you if you come to my party. (NO COMMA)

 WORDS AFTER WHICH WE DON’T USE WILL:

if, until, unless when, as long as, while, as soon as, before, after + Present Simple (NOT WILL!)
Stay here until the teacher comes back. = Maradj itt, amíg a tanár vissza nem jön.
He will be very happy when he sees all these gifts.
After we finish shopping at the grocery store, we are going to the cinema.
Before you say a word, think about what you did.

Additional usage of WILL:

 WILL YOU OPEN THE DOOR?: a strong request (egy erős kérés/ parancs)

Will you help me? ( = Help me!)

Will you finally leave me alone? ( = Leave me alone!)

 will = akarat, will = hajlandó

I’m willing to give you this money. = Hajlandó vagyok odaadni neked ezt a pénzt.
She is not willing to listen to us. = Ő nem hajlandó rank hallgatni.
Are you willing to participate in this operation? = Hajlandó vagy részt venni ebben a műveletben?
 I won’t do it: Nem fogom megcsinálni. (mert nem akarom)

My car won’t start. = Nem akar elindulni a kocsim.

 Question tags after an order/request: Felszólítás E/2 vagy T/2-ben: Csinálj, Csináljatok vmit, oké!?

Stand up, will you! – Állj fel, világos?

Help me, will you! – Segítesz, ugye?

5. Future Continuous: WILL + BE + VERB + ING

 a jövőben egy adott pillanatban épp csinálni fogsz valamit

Tomorrow at 5.15 we will be travelling to Vienna. – Holnap 5.15-kor mi épp Bécsbe tartunk majd.

Don’t call me at 6 on Friday, we will be having dinner then. – Ne pénteken 6-kor hívj, mert akkor épp
vacsorázni fogunk.

This time next week Joe will be celebrating his graduation. – Jövő héten ilyenkor Joe a diplomaosztoját
fogja ünnepelni.

Alex will be waiting for you at the station when you arrive. – Alex a pályaudvaron fog várni rád, amikor
megérkezel.

6. Future Perfect: WILL + HAVE + PAST PARTICIPLE (ige 3. alakja)

 a jövő egy adott pontjára valami végbe megy

By next June I will have finished university.- Jövő júniusra be fogom fejezni az egyetemet.
(addigra valami ki lesz pipálva, elkészül, befejeződik stb.)

By 5pm Tina will have written the contract so she will be able to send it to you.
Délután 5-re Tina befejezi a szerződés megírását és át tudja majd neked küldeni.

7. Future Perfect Continuous: WILL + HAVE + BEEN + VERB + ING

 a jövő egy adott pontjáig vmi már x ideje fog történni

Fruzsi started teaching in 2006.

She has been teaching for 15 years.

In 2022 she will have been teaching for 16 years.

SHALL:
 régen a WILL helyett használták

 I / WE alanyokkal használjuk KÉRDÉSEKBEN!

 Csináljak valamit? Csináljunk vmit? Mit csináljak? Mit csináljunk?

A: Shall I open the window? – Kinyissam az ablakot?

A: Where shall we go on holiday? – Hová menjünk nyaralni?

A: What time shall I call you? – Mikor hívjalak fel?

B: Call me at 6.

A: Shall we get married? – Összeházasodjunk?
