MISALNYA:
1. Ima is studying now.
2. Ima studies every day.
3. Ima studied last night.
SIMPLE PAST
Definisi
Simple Past Tense adalah tense yang digunakan untuk menyatakan
kegiatan/aktivitas/kejadian di masa lampau.

Time Signals (Keterangan Waktu)

1.Yesterday (= kemarin)
2. Last .... (= lalu, misalnya “last week, last Sunday, last night”, dll)
3. ... ago (= yang lalu, misalnya “two days ago, three weeks ago”, dll)
4. Just now (= baru saja)
Pattern/Pola Kalimat
1. Untuk Kalimat Non-Verbal/ Kalimat yg
tidak memiliki kata kerja

Contoh kalimat Non Verbal

a. Miss Angel was cute when she was
small.
b. Miss Angel was in Batu last year.
Pola Simple Past Tense untuk Kalimat Non Verbal
(+) S + to be 1 (was/were) + non-verb
(-) S + to be 2 + not + non verb
(?) To be 2 + S + non verb … ?

Keterangan:
Non verb: Selain kata kerja, bisa kata sifat (adjective) atau kata keterangan
(adverb)
To be 2:
1.“was”: Jika Subjeknya: I, he, she, it
2.“were”: Jika subjeknya: You, they, we.
Change into (-) and (?)

(+) Miss Angel was in Batu last week.

A. Regular (Beraturan) : (Verb 1 + d/ ed)
live – lived (=hidup/tinggal)
study – studied (=belajar)
open – opened (=membuka)
start – started (=memulai)
enjoy - enjoyed (=menikmati)

B. Irregular(Tidak Beraturan)
eat – ate (=makan)
drink – drank (=minum)
go – went (=pergi)
sleep – slept (=tidur)
do – did (=mengerjakan)
sing – sang (=menyanyi)
read – read (=membaca)
