USE: FUTURE WITH “WILL” – “GOING TO” – “PRESENT CONTINUOUS”

WILL + VERB. We use will:
To make a prediction (to say what we believe will
happen in the future). We usually use will with
these expressions: I think, I believe, I bet, I am
not sure/afraid, I suppose/I guess, I hope; or
with these adverbs: probably, possibly, perhaps,
maybe.
I think/I believe I will pass the course.
I bet he will get angry.
I’m not sure you will pass the exam.
I’m afraid you will not pass the exam.
I suppose/I guess he will go to the party.
I hope I will get a pay raise.
I will probably/possibly be at home this weekend.

For things that we decide to do now. This is when I’ll call a taxi for you.
you make a decision at that moment, in a
spontaneous way.

To make a promise, an offer, or a threat. I promise I will come back.

To warn somebody about something. Be careful! You will hurt yourself with that knife.
For a habit that is a predictable behavior. My daughter will fall asleep as soon as she is put into bed.

BE + GOING TO + VERB
To talk about future plans or intentions. We are going to have an exam next week.

To talk about predictions based on what we see or Look at those black clouds! It is going to rain.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS: TO BE + Verb ING

To talk about an action happening now, at the I am reading a magazine now.
