Welcome To “Open Your Third Eye”
A Systematic Method
Prior to opening your third eye, it is imperative that you have sufficient knowledge about the major chakras as this
will help you to understand the concept of opening your third eye. These chakras have to be in a proper working
order to enable the third eye to function properly.
Please go through all the chapters one by one.
It is very tempting to skip straight to the Third Eye Opening process but unless you understand the full concept of
the other aspects, which are closely related to The Third Eye, it will be a very long journey.

What to Expect
This book is designed to provide you with the Universal Facts, which have been kept secret, for centuries so be
patient and by all means browse through any of the pages as and when you wish. However for the purpose of
opening your Third Eye, you must go through the book, from the beginning and practice every aspect of the
Chakras.
Introduction to “The Chakras”
What Are The Chakras
The word Chakra derives from Sanskrit (one of the oldest language in the world dating back to 1500 BCE, and this
was the main language for Indo/Aryan). It means “Wheel”.
Chakra is a concept referring to wheel-like vortices, (similar to the DNA shape) and exists in every human. Rotating
vortices of subtle matter are the focal points for the reception and transmission of energies. Seven major chakras or
energy centres, also understood as wheels of light, are located within the human body.
According to Hinduism, chakras are nexus points of energy sent from Brahma. It is a continuous flow of Shakti
(power). Shakti passes through with the help of chakras into our body and soul and with this process it becomes less
spiritual and more physical. This is then stored at the bottom of our spine or the base of spine which is also called
Kundalini.
The chakra can also be depicted by either a flower or a wheel. As a flower has a number of petals around the circle
and in a similar fashion, a wheel has a certain number of spokes, which divide the circle into segments. Each chakra
possesses a specific number of segments or petals.
It is believed that the chakras were first written down approximately between 1200-900 BCE. However it is also
believed that chakras have been in circulation for approximately ten thousand years, before they were written down!
During that time the information was passed verbally and this verbal/oral information method was called
Upanishads.
The Upanishads are Hindu scriptures that constitute the core teachings of Vedanta (the system of philosophy). They
do not belong to any particular period of Sanskrit literature: the oldest, such as the Brhadaranyaka and Chandogya
Upanishads, date to the late Lord Brahama’s period (around the middle of the first millennium BCE), while the latest
were composed in the medieval and early modern period.
The Upanishads have exerted an important influence on the rest of Hindu philosophy and were collectively
considered one of the 100 influential books ever written.
The philosopher and commentator Shankara is thought to have composed commentaries on eleven mukhya
(principal) Upanishads, those that are generally regarded as the oldest, spanning the late Vedic and Mauryan periods.
Chakras can be activated by stimulating them with a very powerful energy referred to as the Kundalini. The
Kundalini energy is said to reside ‘dormant’ in ‘normal’ people until such times they experience an ‘awakening’.
The Kundalini is said to then rise up from its ‘sleeping position’ which is a coiled energy (like a spring) and located
in the region between the base of the spine and the genital area. From here it travels up through a channel referred to
as the Sushumna nadi and passes through various energy vortices or chakras.
Starting from the lowest (root) and slowest energy wheel located at the base of the spine, this chakra is very
important and conveys to the person a sense of self-preservation and responsibility.
The chakras are located within the Etheric body, associated with the vertical axis of the spine. As one progresses up
the spine towards the head, the chakras are thought of as being more evolved. The base chakra is deemed to be quite
basic, and most people will operate from this chakra or it’s near neighbour the sex chakra. Over activation of this
chakra will lead the person to have an over active interest in sex and its associated behaviours.
The chakras above the neck are associated with greater aspirations, spirituality and necessary for true spiritual
evolution. In this sense, they allow the person, greater insight into increasing levels of universal law. Since the
chakras above the neck are associated with more universal aspects of life, development of the brow chakra (the third
eye) allows the person to be more aware of:
Clairvoyance and other related abilities
• Development of intuition
• Higher mind and philosophical understanding
• Increased inspiration
• Increased depth and insight into everyday life. Not based upon a set of dogma but rather on the ability to see
what is ‘really’ going on.

How Chakras Affect Us

The chakras are constantly rotating and vibrating and the effect of these chakras activities’ influence our body shape,
glandular processes, chronic physical ailments and thoughts and behaviour.
Blocked chakras means that the energy does not flow harmoniously through them, or it is wide open and will result
in an imbalance that is manifested in all areas of life.
Each chakra is expressed on the physical body in one of the endocrine glands that regulate physical and emotional
processes in the body. The imbalance in the chakra will also be expressed in the endocrine gland linked to it.

How to assess The Chakras

You can do a chakra assessment by:
1. Using your hands, OR by
2. The use of a Pendulum
The assessment of chakras can be quite tricky, however an experienced person who has developed a good technique,
can tell which charka is blocked by just running their hands over the body. The first chakra can be assessed over the
wrist; the second at the thumb; the third over the middle finger; the fourth over a small finger; the fifth over the
index finger; the sixth over the ring finger and finally the seventh chakra over the palm.
The other way to access the chakra is by using a pendulum. We will be learning in more details about this method in
a later chapter. However, by placing your pendulum over each chakra, one can establish the condition of that
particular chakra by asking the pendulum for it’s: direction, size and speed.
In the later chapters we will be learning how to construct your own or use a Chakra Chart to determine:
• which chakra to work on
• if it is balanced
• is it under or over energised.

The Seven Power Centres

The law of nature is that life flows through the top of the head and down each chakra, nurturing our bodies with
seven distinct kinds of energy, which are essential to our physical and spiritual development. It also flows upward
through the chakras, communicating individual insight and a conscious sense of universal connections.
In order to put it in a much simpler aspect, we can think of chakras as a computer software programme CD that
contain vital programmes, which shape our behaviour. We all function by sets of programmes, which may or may
not be conscious. In this analogy, the body is the hardware, our programming is the software, and the “Self” is the
user. We did not write all of these programs and some of the language is very archaic. The challenge before us is to
identify our programs and rewrite them all while continuing to live our lives, yet this is the task of healing.
The chakra system is that special anti-virus programme, which not only debugs any problems within our system but
also can be used as a tool to fight the viruses on an on-going basis. In order to run any of our programs have to
activate our energy currents, which is bipolar.
Earth centred energy, which is contacted through our bodies is called grounding. This energy comes from the solid
contact we make with the earth through feet and legs and provides the connection that makes us feel safe, alive,
centred in ourselves, and rooted to the environment;
The pole of consciousness, which is experienced through our minds, is our inner understanding, our memory, our
dreams, and our beliefs. We have a dynamic energy flow, throughout our entire being, when it is connected to our
body.
We can plug into this system just as we plug in our stereo. The chakras then become like stations, receiving and
broadcasting at different frequencies and different channels.
The seven vortices of the chakras are created by the combination of these two active principles: consciousness and
matter.
Consciousness enters through the crown chakra and flows downward through the body, then upward from earth to
ethereal consciousness.
In order to be whole, a human being needs a balance between the downward flow and the upward flow of energy.
Blockages in any of the chakras affect the flow of the energy currents.

What blocks a chakra?

Chakras can be blocked for a number of reasons such as childhood traumas, cultural conditioning, limited belief, bad
habits, physical and emotional injuries, or even just lack of attention.
For each one, we will develop a coping strategy. If these difficulties persist, these coping strategies become chronic
patterns, anchored in the body and psyche as defence structures.
It is important to recognise the blocks we carry and then find and understand the source and meaning, developing
tools to heal them.
The Balanced System
It is possible to be relatively balanced through the chakras with the guidance of the universal truth brought to you
through the medium of this book.
What would this look like?
The person would be: well-grounded and in touch with their body and in good health have more control of their
feelings without being ruled by them sexually content instead of being driven have confidence without dominating
others (indicating a balanced third chakra) compassionate and loving, yet centred, controlled and peaceful, able to
communicate feelings or ideas with truth, clarity, confidence able to listen to others imaginative with wisdom due to
connection with the upper chakra.
The idea is to achieve the above and we all have necessary means. It depends on the individual’s patience, time
factor, how dedicated they are and the amount of time spent.
Aura
What Is An Aura?
Before we look into individual chakras it is important to understand other closely related factors such as Aura. This
is a cocoon of light, which constantly surrounds the human body. It is often described as “egg-shaped”.
Light energy is drawn into this egg, which acts like a prism, changing the light into its components - colour
elements. The aura energy enters the body vibrating along the nerve centres through the chakras. “The chakras plays
the part of portals within our bodies, which take in and process energy of higher vibration nature”.

What Does An Aura Consist Of?

The aura consists of at least seven bands of bodies; the etheric; the emotional; mental; the astral; the casual; the soul
and spiritual. Each body corresponds to the seven dimensions of reality. There are other bodies beyond this level,
which are called the celestial bodies, which are beyond our comprehension at this level of evolution.
Each body has a characteristic or quality of energy associated with it. The physical body is associated with instinct;
the etheric body with vital force and energy; the astral body with desires, feelings and emotions; the mental body
with the ration of mind; the soul or casual body with the abstract mind (also known as the Buddhic body) with
intuition and the atomic body with the spiritual will.
The seven bodies are inter-related and affect one another and the person's feelings, emotions, thinking, behaviour,
and health.
Therefore a state of imbalance in one of the bodies leads to a state of imbalance in the others.

The Auric Bodies and Your Needs on Each Level or Auric Field
1. Physical Auric Body - Physical sensations. Simple physical comfort, pleasure, health.
2. The etheric Auric Body - Emotions with respect to self. Self-acceptance and self-love.
3. Vital Auric Body - Rational mind. To understand the situation in a clear, linear and rational way.
4. Astral (emotional) Body - Relations with others. Loving interaction with friends and family.
5. Lower Mental Auric Body - Divine will within. To align with the divine will, to make commitment to speak
and follow the truth.
6. Higher Mental Auric Body - Divine love, and spiritual ecstasy.
7. Spiritual (intuitive) Body - Divine mind, serenity. To be connected to divine mind and to understand the
greater universal pattern.

The Seven Bodies of a Human
The Etheric Body
This band is the closest to the physical body and replicates organs and physical structures. Any imbalance in the
etheric band will manifest at the physical level. Clairvoyants see this band as a blue or blue-grey web of energy
moving closely around the physical body.
Sacral or Second Chakra. If you feel "spaced out"; are unable to maintain personal boundaries; are experiencing
poor physical coordination; discomfort in crowds or in other places where there is a lot of sensory input; healing is
slower than usual; or an increase in minor illness or infections, you are experiencing imbalances in this band of
energy.

The Emotional/Astral Body

Extending past the etheric band, this band of energy also follows the physical shape of the body. However, unlike
the etheric band, the emotional band has no fixed structure. It is multi-coloured and changes according to our mood.
This is typically what is seen by those who can read emotions and moods.

The Mental Body

The mental band is usually seen as bright yellow. Your thought patterns are within this band. This body records the
reactions of the emotional body and contains your core beliefs. Any time your core beliefs are in conflict with what
you are experiencing will lead to an imbalance. Working with the Solar Plexus or the third chakra and the third eye
or sixth chakra can help balance the mental body.

The Astral Body

This band is the outer most band of the individual personality. This is the last band before what is perceived as "I"
connects with the universe. It resembles the emotional band, but the colours here are soft and more subtle. This band
acts as a container for the individual personality. It filters and tones down universal energy so that you don't become
overwhelmed by it all. If there are problems or imbalances in this band, you can become confused and have
difficulty determining what is real. At the opposite end, if this universal energy is filtered and toned down too much,
you begin to feel isolated and lack direction in your life.

Higher Mental Body

Higher mental body is that part of you that can carry out abstract thinking, such as mathematics, analogy, astrology,
numerology, geometry, encryption, symbolism, to name a few. Creativity and imagination can also be connected to
the higher mental body, provided the creativity is real and not just repetition of something learnt. The higher mental
body allows you to see connections that are not obvious and is not strong in most people. Most people do most of
their thinking using the normal mental body, and habitual/routine thinking. The higher mental body is developed
using perseverance and study of things such as ‘philosophy’, ‘scriptures’, mathematics, physics, or indeed any topic
that the individual finds ‘engaging’ and yet, mentally ‘challenging.

The Intuitive or Buddhic Body

This is a universal, intelligent life force that exists within everyone and everything. It resides within each one of us
as very deep wisdom. It is the “inner self.” We can without a doubt, access this wonderful source of knowledge and
wisdom through our intuitive or Buddhic Body, which is an inner sense that tells us what feels right and true for us
at any given time or moment. It is also an aspect that can “know” things without prior knowledge. It is also an aspect
which is faster that your consciousness. It is beyond reasoning or thinking of a person. It is more a state of “being”
rather than activity.
Many people are not accustomed to being consciously in touch with their intuition and imagine that it is something
very mysterious! They think that this must be a force that has to come to them through some great mystical
experience! This is true and intuition is very practical, down to earth, a natural part of us and is recognised as a tool
that is always available.
The Buddhi is global and trans-dimensional. Insights that provide increased awareness of something, without
additional accumulation of facts, require Buddhi. The experiences of Buddhi are visions of ‘angels’, ‘other worlds’,
‘hearing God’, feelings of overwhelming ‘onenesses. In today’s world we unfortunately are too busy to balance the
various demands of our lives hence do not get any time to give any thoughts to our conscious awareness of Buddhi.
Accessing the Buddhi also requires the individual person to temporarily cease focussing on their ‘attachments’ and
‘habitual thinking’. Buddhi is like seeing air, you can only feel it. People who seek oneness with the Buddhi will
spend years meditating, and learning how to simplify their lives so that they stop focussing on their own habitual
thinking, and instead develop an awareness of stillness and space within their own awareness.
Those who have access to their intuitive bodies, and live their lives accordingly, report increased awareness of the
universal laws that operate our creation, and report that life and creation are run on cycles. The intuitive mind seems
to have access to an infinite supply of information, including that we have not gathered directly through personal
experience. Intuition can tap into a deep and vast field of knowledge and wisdom- called the universal mind.

The seventh body has been called Atman or the individual soul.
Many people think of God as being ‘up there’ in heaven. We are down here in our world and God is elsewhere.
Others believe that God is also ‘down here’, surrounding everything and keeping us company. Hindus go a step
further than this; they don’t just believe that God is here, surrounding us but believe that God IS everything:
everything that exists and appears IS God, taking shape as different forms. In the epic Hindu poem, the Mahabarata,
it says, “I am the taste in the water, the rays of the sun and moon. I am the sweet fragrance of the earth, the brilliance
of fire. I am the life in all beings”.
Hindus call this God, Brahman, which Westerners translate as “the Supreme Spirit’ and, this Supreme Spirit is
believed to make up everything that exists. Hence, the Upanishads say, “This whole universe is Brahman”. Hindus
call this Supreme Spirit, that dwells within all beings the Atman, or ‘True Self’. Thus the Upanishads state, “This
Atman within my heart is that Brahman”.
Sometimes, when people write about the Atman, they simply refer to it as ‘the Self’ (with a big ’S’). Moksha-
Liberation is this Atman or ‘True Self’ which passes from life to life until the process of reincarnation is brought to
an end. In the Upanishads it says, “As the embodied Atman passes in this body, from boyhood to youth and to old
age, it also passes into another body at death”.
The final goal of Hindu religious practice is to dissolve the Atman into the Brahman and break the cycle of
reincarnation or ‘sansara’, this dissolving is called ‘Moksha’ or ‘Liberation’.

How does it feel when you dissolve the Atman into the Brahman?
In order to dissolve the Atman into Brahman and achieve Moksha, Hindus need to do two things:
1. Recognise that everything that makes up their world is Brahman.
2. See beyond the ‘self’ and recognise the True Self or Atman.

Recognising the world as Brahman

Recognising that everything is Brahman is similar to seeing everything as being made up of atoms or particles; if
you do this for long enough, the appearance of individual ‘things’ disappears.
Seeing beyond the ‘self’ and recognising the Atman
If you keep looking ‘underneath’ your thoughts, a sense of spaciousness arises.
When the mind hangs onto thoughts about external forms and people, remember they are all merely particles; when
it is simply filled with thoughts, look underneath them at the space in the mind.
The Seven Chakras System
Within the physical body resides a body double, a spiritual body, which contains the Chakras. These are the centres
of activity that receive, assimilate and express life force energy. They are responsible for the person's physical,
mental, and spiritual functions. They absorb and transmit energies to and from the universe, nature, celestial entities,
from people and even from things.
According to traditional writings there are 88,000 chakras in the human body covering every area of the body. The
majority of them are small and insignificant. Forty of them have significant function and they are in the hands, feet,
fingertips, and shoulders. The most significant ones are the 7 main Chakras located along the central line of the
body, from the base of the spine to the top of the head. They are located in the ethereal body and they express the
embodiment of spiritual energy on the physical plane.

The Root Chakra (Mouldhara)

The first Chakra is called The Root Chakra and it is located at the base of the spine where the snake, the Kundalini,
is coiled there. This is the chakra of manifestation and is associated with grounding, survival and beginnings.
When the root chakra is in the process of awakening, the area around the navel feels filled with energy and there can
be a sensation of tremendous heat. When meditating on this Chakra, often a disc of varicoloured light (red, blue and
gold) is seen in the abdomen or at the third eye level.
Additionally, you may experience enriched emotions, increased sensitivity, be more emphatic and better able to
control your emotions.

Yoga Path For Root Chakra

SETU BANDHASANA or BRIDGE
STEP 1. Lie on the floor, arms at the sides. If necessary, place a thickly folded blanket or towel under the shoulders
to protect the neck. Bend your knees and set the feet on the floor, slightly pigeon toed and hip width distance apart.
Heels are as close to the sitting bones as possible.
STEP 2. Exhale and, pressing the inner feet and arms actively into the floor, push your tailbone upward toward the
pubis, firming (but not hardening) the buttocks, lifting with the pelvis, bringing the lower and upper back off the
floor. Keep your thighs and inner feet parallel, squeezing the inner thighs together as if there is a ball between the
legs.
STEP 3. There are two options for the arms: Clasp the hands below your pelvis to support the bridge and extend
through the arms to help you stay on the tops of your shoulders; OR after you lift the pelvis and back off the floor,
alternately roll onto each shoulder to create the space to bring the arms underneath you. Interlace the fingers,
extending the arms towards the heels, keeping the arms and hands on the floor.
STEP 4. Lift your buttocks until the thighs are about parallel to the floor. Keep your knees directly over the heels,
but push them forward, away from the hips, and lengthen the tailbone toward the backs of the knees. Lift the pubis
toward the navel.
STEP 5. Lift your chin slightly away from the sternum and, firming the shoulder blades against your back, press the
top of the sternum toward the chin. Firm the outer arms, broaden the shoulder blades, and try to lift the space
between them at the base of the neck (where it's resting on the blanket) up into the torso.
STEP 6. Stay in the pose anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 minute. Release the shoulders with an exhalation, rolling
the spine slowly down onto the floor.

Root Chakra Meditation

Bring your attention to the perineum, the flat space between the anus and the genital area. Take several seconds to
allow your attention to find the space, and to get settled into it. Allow the mantra Lam to arise repeatedly in your
mind field, silently.
Allow it to repeat at its own natural speed. You may find that it comes 5-10 times and wants to pause, or you might
find it wants to come continuously. If it pauses, allow it to return in its own time. The mantra may move quickly or
slowly. In any case, keep your attention on that space; this is very important. That space might be tiny, such as a
pinpoint, or it might be several inches across.
Follow your own inclination about the size of the space. Allow your mind to naturally be aware of earth, solidity, or
form. That awareness may come a little or a lot; either way is okay. Allow to come through your mind field the
awareness of the karmendriya of elimination (which operates throughout the body), and the jnanendriya of smell
(best to become familiar with the nature of the indriyas). Gradually, over time with the practice, it becomes clearer
how it is that the indriyas operate from these centres, along with the five elements.
You may or may not, find that colours and sounds naturally come to the inner field of mind.

The Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)

The second Chakra is called The Sacral Chakra and it is located in the lower abdomen, centred between the navel
and the genitals and is the vortex of change, emotion, pleasure and movement. It deals with opposites, polarities and
empathy. This chakra corresponds to the nerve ganglion, is connected to the sciatic nerve, and is frequently referred
to as the "seat of life".
SANSKRIT NAME AND MEANING: Svadhisthana - sweetness
LOCATION: Hypogastric plexus; genitals, womb
ELEMENT: Water
PARTS OF THE BODY: ovaries, testicles, womb, genitals, kidney, bladder, circulatory system
MALFUNCTION: impotence, frigidity, uterine, bladder, or kidney trouble, stiff lower back
BIJA SOUND: Vang
PETAL SOUNDS: Bang, Bhang, Mang, Vang, Rang, Lang
ANIMALS: Makara, fish, sea creatures
INCENSE: orris root, gardenia, damiana
MINERALS: carnelian, moonstone, coral
DEITIES: Indra, Varuna, Vishnu, Rakini, Diana, Jemaya, Tiamat, Mari, Conventina, Poseidon, Lir, Ganymede,
Dionysius, Pan

Yoga Path For Sacral Chakra

Bhujangasana - The Cobra
Step 1. Lie on your front on the floor. Stretch your legs back, tops of the feet on the floor. Spread your hands on the
floor under your shoulders. Keep the elbows in, close to the sides of the body, arms bent.
Step 2. Press the tops of the feet and thighs and the pubis firmly into the floor. Draw the shoulder blades down the
back, bringing the shoulders away from the ears. Engage the abdominal muscles.
Step 3. On an inhalation (or exhalation), begin to straighten the arms to lift the chest off the floor, going only to the
height at which you can maintain a connection through the pubis to the floor. Unless the student has great flexibility
in the low back, most students will maintain a bent arm position. Press the tailbone toward the pubis and lift the
pubis toward the navel. Firm but don't harden the buttocks.
Step 4. Firm the shoulder blades against the back, expanding the side ribs. Lift through the top of the sternum. Keep
the abdominal muscles engaged to support the lower back. Distribute the backbend evenly throughout the entire
spine.
Step 5. Hold the pose anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds, breathing easily. Release back to the floor with an
exhalation.

Sacral Chakra Meditation

When you move your attention upwards towards the second chakra, be mindful of the transition, of the motion of
attention and the nature of the shift of energetic, emotional, and mental experience. Allow your attention to naturally
find the location of the second chakra. Your own attention will find, and settle into that space.
It is important to note that the actual chakra is in the back, along the subtle spine called sushumna, although we
usually experience it in the front. Allow the attention to rest where it naturally falls, probably in the front, but be
mindful from time to time that the chakra is actually in the back. Gradually attention will find this central stream
running up and down through all of the chakras (sushumna is actually subtler than the chakras). Allow the mantra
Vam to arise and repeat itself, at its own speed, naturally coming and going.
Hold your attention in the space, whether a pinpoint or a few inches across. Allow the awareness of water to arise,
and come to see how this has to do with allow forms of flow or fluidity, whether relating to energy, physical,
emotional, or mental.
Explore the awareness of the karmendriya of procreation and the jnanendriya of tasting (once again, become familiar
with the indriyas). Again, colours or sounds may or may not come and go.

The Solar Chakra (Manipura)

The third chakra is called The Solar Chakra and is located at the navel and is the vortex of transformation. This
chakra deals with self-esteem, energy, will, power and autonomy. It is the place of information.
SANSKRIT NAME AND MEANING: Manipura - lustrous gem
LOCATION: navel, solar plexus
ELEMENT: Fire
PARTS OF THE BODY: pancreas, adrenals, digestive system, muscles
MALFUNCTION: ulcers, diabetes, hypoglycaemia, digestive disorders
BIJA SOUND: Rang
PETAL SOUNDS: Dang, Dhang, Rlang, Tang, Thang, Dang, Dhang, Nang, Pang, Phang
ANIMAL: Ram
INCENSE: dragon's blood, sandalwood, saffron, musk, cinnamon, ginger
MINERALS: yellow citrine, topaz, amber, rutilated quartz
DEITIES: Agni, Surya, Rundra, Likini, Ra, Apollo, Helios, Athene, Brigit, Amaterasu, Belenos, Apis

Yoga Path For Solar Chakra

DHANAURASANA - The Bow
STEP 1: Lie on your stomach, while your head rests on your lower arms.
STEP 2: Raise your forehead, look upwards and stretch your hands backwards. Let your weight rest on your chest.
STEP 3: The head falls a little backwards towards your back and the backward movement proceeds from the neck
and the chin. Move your belly further backward as if someone is pulling your arms. The weight is more and more
shifted towards the belly and the lower back does the real work.
STEP 4: If you cannot raise your chest any further, put your hands and arms next to your chest on the mat without
losing the bend. Stretch your arms so that they stand perpendicular on the floor and at the same time turn your arms
a little inward. Relax your lower back and bear your weight with your arms.
STEP 5: The buttock muscles remain relaxed during the exercise. Move your chest further upwards with every
breath out. Do this in a relaxed way instead of using force. You can tilt your head back. The shoulders are broad in
front and the shoulder blades remain low.

Solar Chakra Meditation

Be aware of the transition as you move to the third chakra, at the navel centre, which is also actually along the
sushumna channel. Allow the mantra Ram to arise and repeat itself, at its natural speed. Keep attention in the space,
whatever size at which it is experienced.
Be aware of the element of fire, and the many ways in which it operates throughout the gross and subtle body from
this centre. Be aware of the Karmendriya of motion, and how motion itself happens in so many physical, energetic,
and mental ways.
Be aware of the Jnanendriya of seeing, which you will easily see as related to fire and motion. Colours and sounds
may or may not come and go.

The Heart Chakra (Anahata)

The fourth chakra is called The Heart Chakra and it is located in the heart area and is the vortex of balance, love,
compassion, healing, and unity. The heart is the termination point of the sacred spiral, the intersection point of the
body, the centre point, the balance point.
According to the Upnishads it is "When all the knots of the heart are unloosened, then even here in this human birth,
the mortal becomes immortal”.
When the heart chakra is beginning to open there is often pain in the front of the chest or irregular function of the
heart, like an accelerated pulse. When meditating, a disc of deep vermilion or golden light is often perceived on front
of the heart or the third eye.
SANSKRIT NAME AND MEANING: Anahata - unstruck, unhurt, fresh, clean
ELEMENT: Air
PARTS OF THE BODY: thymus, lungs, heart, pericardium, arms, hands
MALFUNCTION: asthma, high blood pressure, heart disease, lung disease
BIJA SOUND: Yang
PETAL SOUNDS: Kang, Khang, Gang, Ghang, Yong, Cang, Chang, Jang, Jhang, Uang, Tang, Thang
ANIMALS: antelope, birds, dove
INCENSE: yarrow, jasmine, lavendar, orris root, meadowsweet, marjoram
MINERALS: emerald, jade, rose quartz
DEITIES: Vishnu, Krishna, Lakshmi, Kama, Isvara, Vayu, Aditi, Urvasi, Eros, Freyja, Maat, Aphrodite, Isis,
Aeolus, Shu, Asclepius, Pan, Dian Cecht.

Yoga Path For Heart Chakra

Ushtrasana - The Camel
STEP 1: Kneel with your hips resting on your heels. Rise up onto your knees and, one arm at a time, make circles
reaching front, up, and back with each arm.
STEP 2: Now, about the feet....one way is to have the top part of your foot down on the floor with your toes
pointing backwards. For some people, this hurts the front part of the ankle (you are stretching it). You may wish to
put a rolled up towel under your feet (between the floor and the top part of your ankle) to ease the stretch. Because
this will be a big stretch along your chest, it is actually easier to curl your toes under and flex your feet and lift your
heels up just a little.
STEP 3: Now back to your arms....As you circle around, let your hands find their way to your heels. You are
squeezing your buttocks and bending backwards. The pelvic region is pressing forward. Even your thighs/quads may
be pressing forward. The squeeze in your buttocks is protecting your lower back.
Your chest is pressing outward and upward. Your chin may be tucked towards your chest (protecting your upper
back and neck) or you may lift your chin and allow your neck to follow the curve of your spine.
While you are here, breathe. Feel the expanding in your chest. Feel the opening of your heart.

Heart Chakra Meditation

Observe the transition as you move your attention to the fourth chakra, the space between the chest. Allow your
attention to become well seated there, and then remember the vibration of the mantra Yam, allowing it to repeat at
its own speed, while being mindful of the feeling it generates.
Be aware of the element of air, and notice how that feels with the mantra. Notice how the element of air relates to
the karmendriya of holding or grasping, whether physically, energetically, mentally, or emotionally.
Observe how these relate to the jnanendriya of touching, and how that touching is very subtle in addition to being a
physical phenomenon. Colours and sounds may come and go.

The Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)

The fifth chakra is called The Throat Chakra and it is located in throat area and is the vortex of sound, vibration and
communication. Mantras, telepathy, and creativity are associated with this communications centre.
SANSKRIT NAME AND MEANING: Vishuddha - purification
LOCATION: throat
ELEMENT: Akasha (sound)
PARTS OF THE BODY: thyroid, parathyroid, shoulders, neck, arms, hands
MALFUNCTION: sore throat, stiff neck, hearing problems, thyroid problems, colds
BIJA SOUND: Hang
PETAL SOUNDS: Ang, Äng, Ing, Ïng, Ung, Üng, Ring, RÏng, Lring, LrÏng, Eng, Aing, Ong, Aung, Ang, Ahang
ANIMALS: elephant, bull, lion
INCENSE: frankincense, mace, benzion
MINERALS: aquamarine, celestite, turquoise
DEITIES: Saravati, Ganga, the Muses, Nabu, Brigit, Apollo, Hermes, Seshat

Yoga Path For Throat Chakra

MATSYASANA - The Fish
STEP 1: Lie on your back on the floor with your knees bent, feet on the floor. Inhale, lift your pelvis slightly off the
floor, and slide your hands, palms down, below your buttocks. Then rest your buttocks on the backs of your hands
(and don’t lift them off your hands as you perform this pose). Be sure to tuck your forearms and elbows just under
the sides of the torso. Straighten the legs, adducting them toward each other.
STEP 2: Inhale and press your forearms and elbows firmly against the floor. Next press your scapulas into your
back and, with an inhale, lift your upper torso and head away from the floor. Then arching the back, release the head
back onto the floor. Depending on how high you arch your back and lift your chest, either the back of your head or
its crown will rest on the floor. There should be a minimal amount of weight on your head to avoid crunching your
neck. Keep the abdominal engaged.
STEP 3: You can keep your knees bent or straighten your legs out onto the floor. If you do the latter, keep your
thighs active, and press out through the heels.
STEP 4: Stay for 15 to 30 seconds, breathing smoothly. With an inhalation lift the head off the ground and with an
exhalation lower the body, releasing the elbows and lower the head to the floor. Draw the thighs up into the belly
and squeeze.

Throat Chakra Meditation

Bring your attention to the space at the throat. In that space, be aware of the nature of space itself, allowing the
mantra Ham to arise and repeat itself, reverberating many times through the seemingly empty space in the inner
world (a space that is really not empty, but is of potential). Awareness of the Karmendriya of speech (actually,
communication of any subtle form) is allowed to be there, experiencing how that vibrates through space. The
Jnanendriya of hearing is allowed to come, also seeing how it naturally aligns with space, speech, and the vibration
of mantra. Notice the fine, subtle feelings, which come with the experience. Colours or sounds are allowed to come
and go, if they happen to arise.

The Third Eye Chakra (Anja)

The sixth chakra is The Third Eye and it is located between the eyebrows and is the vortex of intuition, imagination,
visualisation, clairvoyance and vision. Many believe that this chakra is connected with the pineal gland and is the
"seat of the soul". It vibrates at a higher frequency than sound. The third eye's vibration is that of light.
SANSKRIT NAME AND MEANING: Ajna - perception
LOCATION: Medula plexus, the point between the eyebrows
ELEMENT: Light
PARTS OF THE BODY: pineal, eyes
MALFUNCTION: blindness, eyestrain, blurred vision, headaches, nightmares
BIJA SOUND: Aum
PETAL SOUNDS: Hang, Kshang
ANIMAL: Owl
INCENSE: mugwort, saffron, star anise, acacia
MINERALS: star sapphire, lapis lazuli, quartz
DEITIES: Shakti Hakini, Krishna, Paramasiva, Isis, Themis, Apollo, Iris, Morpheus, Tara, Hecate, Belenos

Yoga Path For The Third Eye Chakra

Siddhasana - Perfect Pose
STEP 1: Bend the left knee and slide the left heel into the groin. Then release the left knee onto the floor, rotating
from the hip joint. Ideally sitting the heel into the area between the genitals and the anus (for men, the base of the
penis rests against the bottom heel; for women the heel is placed against the soft tissues of the external genitals).
STEP 2: Bend the right knee and place the right foot on top of the left foot. Release the right knee onto the floor,
rotating from the hip joint. Place the right ankle on top of the left ankle and tuck the right foot between the left calf
and hamstrings. The placement of the bottom heel is an important aspect of Siddhasana. Adjust the body until it is
comfortable and the pressure of the heel is firmly applied. Ankle bones should be touching and the heels are one
above the other. Press the pubis with the top heel, directly above the genitals. (For men, the genitals will therefore
lie between the two heels).
STEP 3: Place the hands in gyana mudra as shown in the picture: lightly touching the thumb and forefinger of each
hand, and extend the other three fingers. Rest the hands on the knees, palms facing up.
STEP 4: Breathe smoothly and naturally. As you hold the pose affirm mentally, "I set ablaze the fire of inner joy."
Or simply: inhale the thought “let”, exhale the thought “go”.
STEP 5: Remain in this pose and recite the mantra for as long as desired. The positions of the feet should be
switched on alternate days or sittings. As a way of maintaining equilibrium, sit with the right foot on top at the
beginning of the class and the left foot on top at the end. Note: Siddhasana may be performed with either leg
uppermost.

Anja Chakra Meditation

Gently, with full awareness focus at the space between the eyebrows, ajna chakra. Allow the mantra OM to arise and
repeat itself, over and over, as slow waves of mantra, or as vibrations, repeating so fast that the many OMs merge
into a continuous vibration. Be aware of how the mind has no elements, but is the source out of which space, air,
fire, water, and earth emerge.
Be aware of how this space, this mind, itself, does no actions, but is the driving force of all of the karmendriyas of
speech, holding, moving, procreating, and eliminating. Be aware of how this chakra, this mind, has no senses itself,
but is the recipient of all of the information coming from hearing, touching, seeing, tasting, and smelling, whether
the source of this input is the sensations from the external world, coming through the physical instruments, or
coming from the inner world of memories or subtle experience, presenting on the mental screen through the subtle
senses.
Gradually, come to see how Om Mantra is experienced as the source or map of manifestation itself. Many senses,
images, or impressions may come and go, but they are let go, as attention rests in the knowing beyond all senses, in
the Ajna chakra and the vibration of OM.

The Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)

The seventh chakra is called The Crown Chakra and it is located above the head and is the vortex of consciousness
and transcendence. When developed we discover the thousand-petaled lotus blooming at the top of the head. In
Sanskrit, this chakra is called the Sahasrara, meaning thousand fold or infinite. Yogis call it the "seat of
enlightenment". The element of this chakra is “thought” and its function is “knowing”. This knowing comes from
meditation.
SANSKRIT NAME AND MEANING: Sahasrara - thousandfold
LOCATION: top of the head
ELEMENT: Thought
PARTS OF THE BODY: pituitary gland, central nervous system, cerebral cortex
MALFUNCTION: inability to learn, confusion, apathy, alienation, depression, boredom
BIJA SOUND: none
PETAL SOUNDS: none
ANIMALS: none associated
INCENSE: lotus, gotu kola
MINERALS: diamond, amethyst
DEITIES: Shiva, Varuna, Ama-kala, Zeus, Odin, Nut, Enki, Inanna, Mimir, Ennoia

Crown Chakra Meditation

Allow attention to move to the crown chakra, which has no element (bhutas), no cognitive sense (jnanendriyas), no
active means of expression (karmendriyas), as it is the doorway to pure consciousness itself. Experience how this is
the source, out of, which the mind emerges and after which the five elements, the five cognitive senses, and the five
means of expression emerge. The “mantra” (in its subtler, silent form) is that silence (not mere quiet) out of which
the rest have emerged. It is experienced as the silence after a single OM, merging into objectless, sense-less
awareness. Allow attention to rest in that pure stillness, the emptiness that is not empty, which contains, and is, the
pure potential for manifestation, which has not manifested.
When first practicing Chakra Meditation of Bhuta Shuddhi, it can seem confusing to keep track of mantras,
elements, senses, and actions. To make this Chakra Meditation easy, the two keys to emphasise initially are: 1)
keeping attention in the space, and 2) remembering the vibration in the mantra (it won't take very long to memorise
which mantra goes with which chakra). Then allow the rest to gradually come in time. Both the balancing of the
elements (and chakras) and the many insights will come over time, with practice.

Synopsis of the Chakras Meditation

Chakra meditation involves concentrating on energy centres that are found in the astral (subtle-physical) body. As
we now know these energy centres are located along a non-physical energy tube called the sushumna.
During chakra meditation, the Kundalini energy is pulled from the first chakra up through the sushumna to the third
eye in the area of the forehead where the sushumna ends. In very advanced meditation practice, when a great deal of
energy is generated and held in the third eye, the energy can "jump" from the third eye to the seventh chakra.
When the energy "jumps" to the crown chakra, a state called samadhi occurs in which one is merged with the worlds
of light. When a practitioner enters into samadhi, he or she has entered into the first stages of enlightenment.
Entering into samadhi repeatedly will eventually lead a practitioner to a state of complete awareness, in which that
person has actually become one with enlightenment itself.
In chakra meditation, we focus on three of the seven primary energy centres. By "focus", we mean that we place our
attention on the areas of the body which correspond with each chakra, one at a time. We concentrate on the energy
centre, thereby activating it and releasing its energy. Sometimes it is helpful to place your fingers gently on each
centre as you meditate to help you feel where they are. Eventually, you will naturally feel the energy centres in your
body.
We start with the third chakra, the "navel" or "power" centre, which is approximately one inch below the navel. By
meditating here, the first three centres are activated and great power is released into your being. This energy gives
you the ability to accomplish physical things. This is the centre for willpower and strength.
We then move to the fourth chakra, the "heart" centre. This centre is in the middle of the chest in the general area of
the heart. By meditating here, you get the benefits of both the fourth and fifth chakras. This is the centre for balance
and happiness.
Finally, we focus on the sixth chakra, the "third eye". This chakra is in the middle of the forehead between the
eyebrows and slightly above them. This is the centre for wisdom and psychic seeing.
It is generally a good idea to spend an equal amount of time on each chakra. If you meditate for 15 minutes, spend
five minutes focusing on each chakra. Likewise, if you meditate for an hour, spend 20 minutes concentrating on
each centre. By practicing chakra meditation in this way, you will bring power, balance and wisdom into your life.
Introduction To Mandala
MANDALAS PLAY A CRITICAL PART IN THE OPENING OF YOUR ANY OF YOUR CHAKRAS
INCLUDING THE THIRD EYE, THEREFORE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR US TO UNDERSTAND AT
THIS STAGE WHAT IT MEANS AND HOW TO USE IT, IN ORDER TO UNLOCK THE SECRETS WHICH
WE WILL PRACTICE LATER IN THE BOOK.

What Is Mandala?
Mandala is a Sanskrit word, which means, “Circle”. Mandalas offer balancing visual elements, symbolising unity
and harmony hence mandala is used for meditation and it is normally round and is a symbolic representation of the
cosmos and its energy. Meditative reflection of the mandala can bring the internal light of the soul to awareness,
trigger secret powers of the mind and open the heart chakra to the therapeutic power of absolute love. Open your
mind chakra and explore the wonders of the universe. Open your chakra and draw in the incredible power of prana.
You are only limited because you choose the easy way out. You are interested in mandalas but refuse to do the work
that is necessary to unfold the patterns of the mandala that represent your life and your spirituality. There are no easy
answers and the universe will not just magically open up to you. You must work to understand and unfold the
mandala that is your life.
The meaning of individual mandalas is usually different and unique to each mandala. For some mandalas and the
making of them, it is a highly formalised art yet for others, they are a means of self-expression. In Eastern traditions
mandalas are round or sometimes square and two-dimensional. Visual objects to look at while meditating or praying
have been used in other traditions too.

How to create Mandala

Creating an individualised mandala can be the equivalent of a journey where you are figuring out in your mind who
you are and what is important to you. You may draw a mandala one day and although it can look well balanced, the
drawings may represent negative emotions that you were not aware of. If you work on your mandala, once again you
may be able to research, in your mind ways of understanding these negative emotions and removing them with
positive thoughts to help you feel happier and better balanced.
To create your personal mandala you will want to find the place and privacy where you will be able to allow
yourself to relax and then to clear the channel for your ideas to pour forth and manifest as an imaginative exercise.
The artistic value of the mandala is not as important as the insight you can gain from creating it. Each person will
have a different experience from their drawings and hopefully gain a new perspective on their life and their
problems.
Do not be concerned with, how quickly you can draw or colour the mandala but keep your mind open to any
thoughts or revelations that you receive while you are doing it. Monks and Sadhus have been known to take weeks
to complete a single mandala only to destroy it afterward. Enjoy your reflections and you will learn something about
yourself.
As you build upon the knowledge that you are learning it will start to make sense. Each bit of information is another
key that will lead to self-realisation and awareness. A mandala could be as decorative as you like or as simple as a
coloured piece of card.

Use of Mandala for Opening Your Third Eye

There are three basic approaches to use mandala to meditate.
One is to try and recreate the image in your mind's eye. This means that you look at the picture for a few moments,
then you close your eyes and try to visualise it. When you loose the visualisation, you open your eyes again, and
look at the picture, and so on.
Another is to simply stare at the picture, without really noticing it.
A third way to use a mandala is to look at it and let your thoughts wander around the subject of the mandala. This is
just an introduction to mandala. The way to use mandala and its meditation process will be explained in later
chapters.

The Third Eye

What Is The Third Eye And Its Function
The “third eye” is the gate that opens the space of consciousness and the gate to the inner worlds. It is also the main
organ through which the body of energy can be awakened and governed. It acts as a ‘switch’, which can activate
higher frequencies of body energy and thereby lead to higher states of consciousness.
Due to its function as a switch, as soon as it is activated the third eye tends to set into motion several circulations of
energy. This automatically results in correcting a number of physical, emotional and psychological disorders, which
can also be described as a kind of self-acupuncture. In the beginning the process tends to put people in touch with
more profound aspects of themselves, which in itself have major healing actions.

Where is the third eye?

The third eye is located just between the eyebrows and perhaps 2-4 cm (depending upon the person size etc) above
the junction made between the two eyebrows and the top of the nose.
The third eye is a non-physical eye, and is actually situated within the Etheric body.
It is the etheric body that surrounds and bathes all physical cells, and allows subtle vital energy to flow from both
the astral planes and mental planes into the physical body.
The energy from the astral planes and mental planes are far faster than the physical plane. Without slowing down
these energies as they permeate the physical body, the actual physical matter would be made to vibrate with such
speed, that the matter would disintegrate and burn. This automatically results in correcting a number of physical and
emotional disorders, a process that could be described as a kind of self-acupuncture. Moreover, even the beginning
of third eye awakening, tends to put people in touch with more profound aspects of themselves, which in itself has a
major healing action.
From a spiritual point of view, in both the Christian and Hindu traditions, one finds texts that compare the body to a
temple. If we were to develop that analogy, we could compare the third eye to the temple's portal. By crossing the
portal, one goes from the profane to the sacred. From the stage where one reads and thinks about spiritual life to the
stage where one starts experiencing it, the third eye has always been regarded by those who seek to know
themselves as a most precious jewel, hence the precious stone placed on the forehead of statues of Buddha.
In this chapter we will describe how to begin to establish a connection with the third eye. Then we will cover
techniques through which the third eye can be further explored and developed. The third eye is often associated with
various colours and symbols. It is not uncommon to see the third eye symbolised in both ancient and modern
paintings, and sculptures from both the east and west.
The coconut is used for most symbolic religious rituals in India. If you have ever noticed it has three eyes, two of
these are “blind” mean they cannot be pierced to get the milk, however the third one, in the middle, opens to the
inside world of the coconut. Similarly, “the third eye” is fundamentally the way that leads to your inner worlds.
Our third eye allows us to know about our self and developing the third eye is a direct way to expanding our
conscious universe and discovering our essential values. The process is the simplest but it does not necessarily mean
it is easy!! At the same time the work does not require any complicated theories.
If you have always lived inside a dark cellar, to you this cellar is not a cellar, it is the whole universe. You cannot
even conceive the wonder waiting for you if you were to step out and walk in the real world. The work suggested in
this book is all about stepping out of the cellar and starting to behold the magnificence of the world as seen from the
third eye.
Before starting the techniques lets look at some of the basic advice regarding the principles and methods of work.
Let us not forget that you are already half way through because the purpose of this exercise is a new clairvoyance, or
vision of the self. The self is already there waiting for you in the background of yourself!! Spiritual development is
certainly a struggle, but the main weapon in this fight is letting go.

How To Open/Unlock Your Third Eye Chakra - Preliminary Advice

This opening practice is designed to give you a first ‘thread’ to The Third Eye, by awakening a certain feeling
between the eyebrows. First we will work on the third eye and then continue with the rest of the techniques.
A good way to start is to make up your mind and start. It is ideal to do it own your own because it will be less
distractive and will help you focus. There is no perfect time but remember no imagination or visualisation.
Meditate and practice yogic exercises to increase mental and intuitive awareness. You will need to continue
practising just as you would expect to keep exercising a muscle in order to keep its strength and capability.
Meditate using the mandala in order to stimulate The Third Eye chakra. This will bring energy from the astral into
the etheric web, and enhance the perception of astral movement and thus develop those things associated with the
Third Eye chakra activities. These are increased awareness, long distance and astral vision.
Use mantras to increase energy into the chakras. This will be an internal experience, since you would carry out this
meditation with your eyes closed. All you are required to do is inwardly repeat certain sounds that resonate with the
chakra. Again you will need to continue practising with the mantras in order to maintain and develop it.
The one other method of opening/unlocking The Third Eye is that someone else does it for you. This is normally
done by touch, and the administrator of the touch passes on an energy that irreversibly opens the eye, such that the
person is able to see and hear the astral worlds, and beyond and through into the Buddhi. The person is then able to
perceive what has been described as the light of God or the Noor. Alternatively it has been called the ‘light of the
soul’.

Dos & Don’ts

Before we start to practice we must ensure certain aspects of practicing, our mental status and surroundings. As
mentioned the learning in this book provides the most simplest way to Unlock the Code of the third eye however, it
has to be done in the same sequence as mentioned in this book in order to get the greater results.
Do Not Force
It is true that human beings are only using a small proportion of their potential and most of their life is confined
within a limited range of thoughts, emotions and sensations.
Before starting the techniques let us look at some of the basics regarding the principles and methods of work.
Do not force yourself or try too hard. If you were to do so, you would operate from your ordinary mind which is the
discursive mind that goes on talking in your head all the time.
You have been advised from an early stage to remove everything from the mind.
Do not be creative
One of the biggest mistakes one can do while or before practicing, is to start to visualise or imagine. The human
mind is very Chanchal (easily wonders), if images, lights or spiritual beings or anything else comes into your vision,
that is fine, but do not make them up for the sake of your Chanchal Mind.
Wonders WILL happen once you have mastered it but then it would be difficult to tell the difference if you start
imagining now. You need to put the techniques into practice and the visions will come. The real problem is, once
these visions come to you, how can you discern what is real, from what is a fascination of your mind! Be
spontaneous, never plan or try to attract a vision, just practice the techniques and see what comes in your path.
Trust yourself
Just practice the methods and do not waste your time worrying about whether you are really seeing or what you are
seeing. Keep on practicing, trust your experience and yourself.
Do not analyse just enjoy the experience
If you start to analyse immediately, you will lose your perception because you will be caught straight back into the
discursive mind. Once the experience is over, you will have enough time to analyse and once the techniques have
been mastered, the experience will be an everyday occurrence so you will have plenty of time for analysis.
Concentrate
While breathing, if you come across some distractions, do not try to ignore them, take a notice. By accepting and
noticing them you can eliminate them and if you try to ignore them it may take longer. The basic practice is
“noticing and naming.” Instead of returning immediately to the breath, take a look at what it is that has drawn you
away from the breathing.
For example, if you hear a sound, make a mental note to yourself, “hearing,” and then come back to the breath. If
you remember something; note “remembering.” If you imagine something happening in the future remember
“imagining.”
In the beginning it is helpful to use words to describe what you have become aware of. As you become more skilled
you can let go of the words. When you hear a sound you simply know that you have heard a sound, and then come
back to the breath. The change from verbal to non-verbal knowingness takes place in its own time and there is no
need to specifically work on it. If you find it helpful, you can always come back to the verbal naming at any time.
It may be difficult to picture it but it will all become clear once you start practicing. The simple breathing exercise
can be performed any time of the day
Necessary Steps to Open Your Chakras (unlock the
code)
Like any other physical exercise this one starts with warm ups. The only difference is that in this exercise we are
building up our superior vision instead of muscles. Therefore we will start with the breathing exercise or basic
pranayama.

Breathing
Focusing on the breath, is one of the most common and fundamental techniques for accessing the meditative state.
Breath is a deep rhythm of the body that connects us intimately with the world around us.
Close your eyes, breathe deeply and regularly, and observe your breath as it flows in and out of your body. Give
your full attention to the breath as it comes in, and full attention to the breath as it goes out. Whenever you find your
attention wandering away from your breath, gently pull it back to the rising and falling of the breath.
You will begin to feel a change come over your entire body. Gradually you will become less aware of your
breathing. You will become more centred inward. You will just "be there."
Observation of the Breath
Seat yourself comfortably. You can sit on a cushion or beanbag if you want to.
Follow the following steps:
1. Keep you back straight and close your eyes.
2. Tell yourself with your internal voice, ‘I am going to focus on my own slow rhythmical breathing and will
ignore distractions’. (Speak to yourself in a gentle and relaxing tone, with a pace that is not rushed and invites
you to slow down).
3. Breathe normally for a couple of minutes, and begin to allow your mind to quieten.
4. Breathe in through your nose, slowly expand the abdomen by pushing down the diaphragm muscle (without
force, be gentle) and allow your tummy to move forward and out and you will obtain more oxygen and greater
benefit.
5. As you perform the movement, inhale for a count of 4 seconds.
6. Then stop the inhalation and simply hold the breath for a count of two seconds.
7. Then allow yourself to breathe out slowly for a count of 4 seconds.
8. Always keep your awareness on the movement of the abdominal muscles and movement of air, as it flows
through your nostrils and down into your abdomen.
This means you will have:
Breathed in for 4
Held for 2, and
Breathed out for 4

Relaxed state of mind

By now you should be in a relax state of mind due the breathing exercise. This simple technique quietens the mind
and senses and prepares you for the meditation practice that follows.
Breathing is very important: Breathing not only brings in the recognised oxygen necessary for all respiration (energy
making processes) within the body, but also removes unwanted toxins.
Breathing allows vital life force or ‘prana’, to enter the body via the Etheric web. This occurs at various energy-
collecting points within the Etheric body, for later distribution to all cells.
Breathing is important for the maintenance of balanced physical, emotional and mental health. So many people have
mental ill health resulting from poor breathing. Sounds ludicrous, but is absolutely true! So be warned, practise your
breathing daily and receive benefits. Some of these are listed below:
Increased energy.
Clearer thinking.
Increased emotional stability.
Less nervous and physical tension.
Greater ease of meditation.
Greater ease to open your third eye.

Ajna Chakra Meditation

Gently, with full awareness, transition it to the seat of mind at the space between the eyebrows, ajna chakra.
Allow the mantra OM to arise and repeat itself, over and over. Slowly waves of mantra and repetition of many OMs
merge into a continuous vibration.
Be aware of how the mind has no elements, but is the source out of which space, air, fire, water, and earth emerge.
Be aware of how this space, this mind, itself, does no actions, but is the driving force of all of the karmendriyas of
speech, holding, moving, procreating, and eliminating.
Be aware of how this chakra, this mind, has no senses itself, but is the recipient of all of the information coming
from hearing, touching, seeing, tasting, and smelling. Whether the source of this input is the sensations from the
external world, coming through the physical instruments, or coming from the inner world of memories .
Gradually, come to see how the OM mantra is experienced as the source or map of manifestation itself. Many
senses, images, or impressions may come and go, but they are let go, as attention rests in the knowing beyond all
senses, in the ajna chakra and the vibration of OM.

Connecting
This exercise provides balance and connection upward and downward.
Close your eyes and breathe deeply and regularly. Visualise clean white light pouring from above down into the top
of your head, down through your body, and out to your feet into the centre of the earth. As the light flows through
you, allow it to illuminate and cleanse every cell of your body. Imagine every cell bright and alive with light.
Visualise bright clear emerald light coming up from the earth, into your feet, up your legs, up your back, out the top
of your head. Allow it to swirl through every cell, healing and nourishing and connecting you intimately to the very
core of the earth of which you are a part.
Now allow both lights to flow through you, white from above and green from below, and combine them in a bright
blend throughout your being.
Feel the connection to the earth and the heavens, feel the calm nourishment of the energy, feel that the universe is
truly your home.

Mandala Magic
Using mandala you need to practice for at least 10-15 minutes. Although you may be tempted to do this for a longer
period remember to allow sufficient time to practice. Everything mentioned may sound simple and as a matter of
fact it is easy but you need to ensure that every step is understood and mastered prior to moving on to the next level.
The practice of mandala meditation has been used for centuries as an effective tool in calming the soul and clearing
the mind of clutter. Mandala meditation is for the beginner and for the experienced. It will be particularly useful for
those that have difficulty sitting still as concentrating on an object helps to focus the energy inside the present self.
As in all meditation practices, there is no right or wrong way. Your practice should serve your particular needs and
being overly concerned with rules defeats the original purpose of suspending the logical mind.
The steps outlined below are intended as an introduction to the practice of mandala meditation.
Sit in a comfortable position. The lotus pose is ideal for meditation practice, as it is believed to bring the mind and
body into harmony.
Sit cross-legged with your spine straight. If you are doing this correctly, you should feel an imaginary line running
straight from your tail bone up through your head.
Shoulders should be relaxed but not rounded or hunched.
Relax hands on your knees, palm side up. A pillow or folded blanket can be used to sit on, if desired.
If the lotus position is painful, do not force yourself into it.
As an alternative, you can sit on the edge of a chair, spine erect.
Use whatever pose is comfortable, just so long as you maintain good posture.
If you have difficulty keeping your spine straight, try sitting with your back against a wall.
Close your eyes. Breathe in through the nose, letting the breath flow naturally up from the diaphragm, filling the
lungs and spreading into the head before releasing out through the mouth.
Take deep, even breaths, feeling the slowing rhythms of your body as you do so.
Feel your body relax, let tension go.
As thoughts arise or you become aware of physical distractions, simply acknowledge them and then let them go.
Do not attempt to force thoughts from your head or feelings from your body. Accept them as part of the experience.
Visualise the mandala and focus your energy into your heart until you can feel your energy flowing between your
heart and the centre of the mandala.
Keep breathing and stay still and centred until you are ready to open your eyes.
Gaze at your mandala with slightly unfocused eyes.
Keep breathing, deeply and evenly, letting the oxygen flow in and the toxins flow out.
Look deeply into the centre of the mandala, trying to blink as little as possible.
Do not focus on the details of the mandala, but just keep your sight right in the centre and observe the image as a
whole.
Allow yourself to notice the various elements of the mandala. You may be attracted to certain images, patterns and
colours.
Let your thoughts come and go as you gaze.
Focus your eyes and start visually exploring the mandala, beginning with the outer parts and moving inward toward
the centre. Go slowly, taking in as much as you can before moving on.
The mandala holds the power of unity, healing, balance and wholeness. The centre is where the crux of this power
lies.
Use whichever concept speaks to you as you focus intently on the centre.
Explore the energy flow between the heart and the centre of the mandala.
Close your eyes and feel the harmony within. Allow yourself to feel whatever the Mandala is sending to you.
Open your eyes when you feel ready. Repeat your journey through the mandala once more, if you wish.
If you have difficulty doing the recommended 15-30 minute daily sessions, keep in mind that even one minute of
gazing can be beneficial. Meditation cannot be forced and it takes time to train the mind to the practice. It is called a
practice because meditation is a never ending journey of self-discovery. It is not something to be mastered. Keep
trying to stay focused in the present and do not get discouraged if things are not going as you think they should.

Mantra Meditation
Creating a Meditating Space
Create a quiet, comfortable place where you can meditate undisturbed. It may be a comfortable chair, a place on the
floor, a spot in the garden, or a favourite corner in a park. It is best if the temperature is comfortable, the noise is
low, and the distractions are minimal.
Some people want their favourite things around them, and others want nothing. Some create an altar where they
place personal and spiritual symbols, like books, candles, pictures, or a cross. Soothing music may be particularly
helpful in establishing a meditative atmosphere and masking distracting sounds. Look inside to find what constitutes
a special place for you. Take time developing your meditative place, and have fun with it.
Like most of these suggestions, a special meditation place can be very helpful, but it is not a requirement. The most
important ingredient is your openness to experience the peace and solitude which is already within you. As you learn
to centre your heart and mind, you can meditate almost anywhere, under almost any conditions.
Food and Drink
It is counterproductive to consume too much food, drugs, and alcohol prior to meditation. You may want to wait an
hour after meals to meditate. Notice the effects different foods, such as sugar and caffeine, have on your ability to
meditate. Is it more difficult to meditate after drinking a glass of wine or taking an antihistamine pill? Usually these
things interfere with our ability to meditate.
Time
For most people, setting aside time for meditation on a regular schedule is very helpful. Perhaps you want to
establish a goal of meditating for twenty minutes twice a day. You might begin with a lesser amount and then add a
minute a day until your goal is reached.
Whatever your schedule, allow it to be only a very gentle form of self-discipline. Some days you may only meditate
briefly, or you may choose not to meditate at all.
Remember that it is the pleasure of the practice, not the discipline that leads you into self-introspection and self-
awareness. You will probably find that as meditation becomes a part of your life, you will miss it when it's not there.
Thoughts
You may notice that as you meditate, your thoughts continue to flow through your mind in a never-ending stream.
You are not your thoughts and you should gently return your attention to the focus of your meditation when it
wanders into the stream of thoughts. Just let your thoughts be thoughts let them float on down the stream.
Suggestions
Wear comfortable, loose clothing.
Be aware of how prior activities affect your ability to meditate. What happens if you exercise before you meditate,
or watch the evening news, or engage in a stressful interchange with a family member?
Be willing to change your meditation format as your interests and needs change.
It is important to avoid the misconception that the more demanding the meditation practice and the more strenuously
we follow it, the closer we will be to achieving something called "enlightenment." In fact, just the opposite is true;
like all meditation, structured and guided meditation is best done effortlessly, joyfully, and without a goal.
Mantra meditation is chanting meditation. Mantras are sacred words or phrases which, when repeated in meditation,
bring the individual into a higher state of consciousness. The sounds that are produced during mantra meditation are
a form of energy, which connect you to worlds of light and spiritual ecstasy.
You can chant a mantra out loud, in a whisper, or mentally. Perhaps the most famous mantra is OM MANI PADME
HUM which can be translated as "the jewel in the heart of the lotus" or "Enlightenment is within everything".
Chanting a mantra repeatedly for the duration of your meditation session will, over time, develop your powers of
concentration to a high degree, and you will experience great inner peace and clarity of mind.
The trick is to focus on the sacred sounds and the sacred meaning of the mantra. Each time your mind is diverted
from pure concentration, bring it back to your meditation by focusing on the mantra.
OM MANI PADME HUM

Cooling down
Breath
The rhythm and manner of our breath is closely linked to the state of our body, mind, and emotions. Even recent
scientific studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of breathing techniques to help with mental and physical
health problems. When you find yourself tired, stressed, or anxious, try slowing and deepening your breathing. It
will almost always provide some relief.
A few deep slow cleansing breaths at the beginning of any meditation will aid you in easing into a meditative state.
Maintaining some awareness of your breathing during meditations will help you centre and calm, and maintain your
meditative focus.
Pranayama (lotus pose) has the capacity of freeing the mind from untruthfulness, ignorance and all other painful and
unpleasant experiences of the body and mind; and when the mind becomes clean it becomes easy for you to
concentrate on the desired object and it becomes possible to progress further in the direction of Dhyana and Samadhi
(concentration).
By Yog asanas, we remove the distortions and disabilities of the physical body and bring it into discipline. However
Pranayama influences the subtle and the physical bodies in a greater measure than Yogsanas do and that too in a
perceptible manner. In the human body, lungs, heart and brain hold very important positions and they depend on
each other heavily for their health.
Procedure:
Sit in a comfortable pose preferably in Padmasana (lotus pose). Those who are unable to sit in any in suitable asana
can sit against wall keeping the head and spine erect.
Concentrate on the tip of your nose.
Exercise the diaphragm by exhaling suddenly and quickly.
This process consists of two actions – Rechaka (exhaling) and Puraka (inhaling).
In Rechaka, the main and important part is sudden exhaling all the air out of the lungs by sudden and vigorous
inward stroke of the front abdominal muscles. Let the abdominal stroke be complete and let the breath flow out
fully.
In Puraka, inhaling is automatic and passive and no wilful expansion of the muscles is necessary. The abdominal
muscles are also kept relaxed. In short, breathe in normally and breathe out forcefully, so as to influence the organs
of the abdominal area.

bring you the success.
A Few Experiences on the Way
In this chapter we will review some of the most common experiences, sensations and feelings you may encounter
while working on your Third Eye and implementing the techniques of the book.

Vibration and Tingling

Tingling and vibrations are common factors in your etheric body while meditating and as a matter of fact, a very
good sign. It means that something is activated in your etheric body, such as arms, hands, legs or any other part of
your body and rearrangements are taking place in your energy system.
For example, if some channels were blocked these are unblocked and starting to flow again. Please do not worry
because these symptoms do not have any significance within themselves hence do not pay too much attention.

Let things come and go

As you follow the process of opening your Third Eye or working on any of the chakras you may feel twitches, little
pains, seeing colours, hearing sounds etc. Let us not forget that you are working with energy and these sensations
may be experienced. Do not pay too much attention to them.
Just follow the process and as long as these feelings and sensations come and go, carry on as long as they do not
remain on a permanent basis.

If a meditation experience becomes too intense

It is debatable if the experience of meditation can be too intense! However, if for some reason you start to feel
uncomfortable and wish to stop, just open your eyes and the pressure of the experience will diminish immediately
and you will find yourself back in the normal state of consciousness.

Feeling vibration higher up than between the eyebrows

One possible and unusual experience is to feel pressure and light on top of the forehead. It is usually felt one inch
above the area between the eyebrows, around the borderline between the forehead and the scalp. This can be
experienced when one has been practising for a while and on a regular basis.
Another possible experience is the light in the middle of the head (in the upper part). All these manifestations are
good signs and indicate that you are progressing. It is not necessary that everyone will experience these feelings and
sensations. It has been know that some individuals complete the whole process successfully without experiencing or
feeling little or none of the above mentioned sensations.

Feeling heat
Feeling heat is another sensation which can be felt during the process. It is a very common manifestation during
certain phases of awakening and does not last very long. As you are working on your internal energy system it is
common and will disappear once the process is stopped.

Controlling headaches
If you experience headaches during the process, follow the steps detailed below:.
Close your eyes and become aware of the area about 10 to 15 centimetres above the top of the head. There is a
centre of energy, a chakra, in this area. It is NOT the Crown Chakra but is the one above it. It is called ‘the centre of
the hissing snake’, because a hissing sound can be heard when one gets in touch with this chakra.
Tune into the area 3 to 5 inches above the head and spend 1 minute being aware and listening. Remember, no
imagination! It is far better to remain just aware than to make up a sound.
Maintain your awareness at the same height, and at the same time utter a continuous hissing sound: ‘sssssssss...’ for
a minute or two (a physical sound, not just a mental one). Do not only repeat ‘sss’, but make a proper hissing, as if
you were a big snake. Put all of your effort into the sound, while remaining aware of the area above the head.
Remain in the area above the head and repeat the sound silently inside yourself for 2 or 3 minutes. At this stage, in
many cases you will be pleasantly surprised to realise that your headache has disappeared. The more you master this
technique, the more you will be able to release undesirable energies upwards, above the head therefore removing the
headache.

Hearing sounds
Hearing non-physical sounds is also a very normal experience. It often starts with a buzzing type of sound inside
your head and slowly gets refined into the harmony of the spheres. If there are sounds in your head, just listen to
them. They are a good focus for maintaining your awareness. The best area to position your awareness in order to
tune into non-physical sounds is behind the area between the eyebrows, in the centre of the head.
What to do with your third eye
The following exercises will encourage and inspire you to find out more about your progression.
Depending on a number of factors, such as the individual, the amount of time spent, concentration, personal
circumstances etc, will determine how quickly or slowly the psychic and intuitive abilities can be gained. Some
people are able to see auras and other have to work on it for a while before anything happens but it will happens
because it is natural. Once your third eye is open, explore the possibilities that are available but remember to stay
within your limits. Sincerity is a must and if you respect nature, it will respect you. In order to develop your
awareness follow the practical exercises detailed.

A Development of ‘Energy Awareness’

After you have done several minutes of conscious breathing, gently move your focus to the palms of your hands, and
slowly move the palms towards each other, until they are about 40 cm apart.
Then, slowly move your hands together, but do not allow them to touch! As you bring the palms together, you may
notice that the palms may invisibly press against each other, as if there is a non visible field between them. You may
notice a type of ‘static energy’ feeling or even pressure keeping the palms apart as you bring them together - a
sensation similar to touching ‘cob webs.
You may like to develop the skill of ‘noticing energy’, as it will allow you to notice when ‘energy’ pockets are
around you.
This skill can be acquired by carrying out the breathing exercises and then moving your hands towards a living
thing, such as a flower or large plant.
The steps to follow are:
Have your hands 30-40 cm away from the living thing.
Move your hands slowly towards the plant and allow your mind to become ‘blank’ or ‘empty’.
As the hands move slowly towards the item, what do you detect?
With practice, you should be able to detect differences in feelings between, ‘animate’ and inanimate’ objects.
The sensations are created as energy following through the Etheric web interacts with the aura or energy of the item
you are considering.
Initially you will need to ‘sense’ energy however, with practice you can discover how to ‘detect’ using a type of
‘seeing’, that is ‘impression related’ rather than purely visual in nature.

Candle Meditation
A candle meditation is practiced by gazing at a candle flame. For some people this type of meditation is quite easy,
as they find it easier to let go of thoughts when they are concentrating on a physical “thing” rather than on a mantra.
For others, this meditation can be quite challenging as it can be a bit of a strain for some people to keep their eyes
open and focussed on the candle without their eyes blinking or watering.
One thing is for sure, this meditation is a fantastic way to improve your concentration skills, and it can lead you into
a profoundly deep state of meditation if practiced properly and it is very similar to meditating with mandala.
How to do the Candle Meditation
1. Before you light a candle for your meditation, take a minute to prepare the space in which you will meditate.
Turn down the lights and/or draw the curtains. You will find this meditation much easier to do in a room that is
not too bright and you will avoid eyestrain too. Therefore make sure the room is dimly lit and at a comfortable
temperature.
2. Now light a candle and position it at eye level, or slightly below. It is alright to look down at the candle
slightly, but make sure your head is not tilted too far forward and that your body is not slumping. It is important
that you are able to maintain a comfortable upright posture that feels natural to you. Take a seat in your favourite
chair, or sit cross legged on the floor, and make sure that your candle is at least 50cm away from you otherwise it
may appear too bright.
3. Now simply stare at the candle and allow the image of the flame to occupy your mind. At first, your mind will
probably wander about and your eyes will resist your efforts to keep them still. This is normal and it will
gradually ease as the meditation progresses, so do not be too concerned if this happens to you. You may also find
that you eyes water a little. Again, this is normal and it usually dissipates quite quickly. If distractions like these
arise, simply return your attention to the candle flame and let them go.
4. A great way to deepen a candle meditation is to imagine that you are breathing the light of the candle in and
out. Keep your eyes fixed on the candle flame and allow your natural breathing rhythm to fill your awareness.
Casually sense that the light of the candle is flowing into you as you breathe in and out. Feel a sense of purity
and clarity infusing with your body and mind as you absorb yourself in this meditation.

Something rather special happens whenever you go deep into a candle meditation. Your brain processes the signals
that are sent to it via the optic nerves in your eyes. What happens as this meditation progresses is that your brain
begins to stop processing these signals. That might sound dramatic, but it is perfectly natural, perfectly safe and a
profoundly serene experience.
Your eyes are firmly fixed on the image of the flame in front of you and because your eyes are not moving, they are
not providing your brain with any new information to process. You then find that some areas of your peripheral
vision start to fade from your vision completely. Gradually, more and more of your peripheral vision fades away
until you have no visual awareness of anything but the candle flame. This is a profound experience. Your eyes are
open, but you are actually not seeing anything but the small flame in front of you. As a result it feels as though there
is no distance between you and the flame. In essence, you have become one with the flame.
To achieve this requires both mental stillness and the physical stillness of your eyes. As soon as you move your eyes
around, your brain is flooded with new sensory input and you will instantly be able to see the room around you
again. Remain still and focussed on the candle, and you will slip back into this state of profoundly deep meditation
quite quickly.
At the completion of your candle meditation, close your eyes and lie down for at least five minutes as you let
your mind come back down to earth.
DEALING WITH THE PENDULUM

What Is Pemdulum
A Pendulum is a weighted, well balanced, often an object with a pointed end, which is usually suspended from a
cord and sometime chain or string. Mostly pendulums are made of metal but you can also find some pendulums with
semi precious stone. Like mandalas some individuals can make a pendulum with their rings or favourite pendant
which is hung from a string or thread.
The pendulum has been used for all type of purposes for centuries. It works like an amplifier especially for our
exercises purposes. It is a very important tool that helps you to access the collective unconscious and your “Higher
Self”. Once mastered you can get answers to anything you can come up with.
It is very easy as well as simple to work with pendulum but as stated previously, before it starts working for you it
would be necessary to master it and the techniques mentioned below will help you achieve it.
Everyone is capable of working with the pendulum. Learning to work with it is like learning to play an instrument. It
requires constant practice and experimentation. Making mistakes is part of the learning process. The results you get
will reflect your stage of spiritual/mental development. You should not use the pendulum for egoistic reasons. Use it
only for the well being of others or yourself. Swinging the pendulum requires that you be undivided and totally
present in the moment.

Types of Pendulums
There are many types of pendulums and can be used for many reasons i.e. some are used for specific healing
purposes others can be used to detect and adjust chakras or distance healing etc.
As shown in the picture above, the pendulum can be as simple as tear drop, round shaped, conical, spiral etc. If you
are making your own pendulum do not worry too much about the material used because it can be anything from
brass, copper, crystal, wood to ceramic. The idea is to keep it as simple as possible and most of the time we all have
certain objects in the house which can be used to make a pendulum such as crystals, beads etc.

Selecting or making a Pendulum

You can make a pendulum yourself, however follow your intuition and choose the one that you like. You can use a
thread and hang a weight on it which can be any object you like. The thread can be between15 to 20 cm long. Tie a
knot in the thread at the length where the swing of the pendulum feels the best.

Programming the Pendulum

You can ask about anything you like with the pendulum, if the question can be answered with YES or NO. But first
you have to determine what each pendulum movement means for you. Follow the following process:
Take a comfortable seated position at a desk, table or floor.
Place you feet flat on the floor resting your elbow on the desk and if you are sitting on the floor then ensure that you
can rest your elbow on your knee.
Hold the pendulum by the end of chain between your thumb and index finger.
Make sure that your upper body and back are straight, that the energy can flow freely.
Put your other hand flat on the table and relax.
Let your breath flow calmly and make sure before you start that you will not be distracted. Do not swing the
pendulum when you are tired.
Hold your pendulum over the centre of the illustration as shown below and you ask: “What does a YES look like?”
then “What does a NO look like?”
The pendulum can turn in the following directions: up-down, left-right or in a circle.
Practice several times a day for at least a week. Once you have determined your YES and NO do not deviate from it.
When you have programmed your pendulum, test it. Prove to yourself that it really works. Ask questions you
already know the answer. Otherwise always assume an unattached and unbiased attitude.
When you have determined a clear Yes and No, ask your pendulum how it swings for “I do not want to answer” or
“I can not answer that.”
REMEMBER: as above there are many ways to ask a question and a correct answer will follow only when the
question is asked in the right way.

Testing The Pendulum

You should test your pendulum for accuracy before you begin to work. Use a numbered chart 1-100% and ask how
accurate your pendulum is. The ideal would be 100%. If it is below 60% do not swing the pendulum, ask about the
reasons or try some other time when rested and calm.

REMEMBER: The answers you get refer to the present moment only. It can partially or completely change at
another time or place

Other ways to use the Pendulum

You can place your pendulum directly over an object and test it. You can basically test anything and everything with
pendulum.
Before you go on to test the energy of your house, evaluate your sleeping space and much more try the following
simple exercise. Start your practice by hiding a small object under one of the three cups and your task is to find the
cup hiding the object with the help of your pendulum. Once you have mastered this technique then as mentioned
above you can test anything. The more you work with the pendulum the better you will get.
Development of clairvoyance awareness
We have all heard about having "gut feelings" about another person, a place, or an event which is called
“Clairsentience” and most commonly called intuitive abilities. It may not always make sense because it comes from
the second chakra-your emotional centre. Clairsentience is not as accurate or as clear as your clairvoyance, which
often takes more time to cultivate.
Clairvoyance means clear seeing. This intuitive ability comes straight from the sixth chakra, or third eye as it is an
energy centre located in the centre of our head.
You might see an image, or a symbol, or a picture. Sometimes it is moving and other times, you might simply see a
colour. The images you see can be fuzzy or clear. Sometimes they are in colour and sometimes not. Often, you will
just get an impression of something, rather than a clear image.
How it works:
Your sixth chakra is the energy centre that "sees" what is going on behind the scenes, just as your eyes take in the
physical world around you. Children are usually born with this centre turned on and functioning-this is why they
often blurt out candid observations that surprise the adults in their lives!
Clairvoyance works best when you “look” differently and allow the “seeing” to involve more of the third eye itself,
and not just the physical eyes. In order to do this, please ensure that you have carried out meditation on the mandala
and follow the following development exercises:
This particular exercise is to learn to look ‘around’ objects, and not get drawn to looking at the object directly. By
‘around’, mean the space around the object be that alive or otherwise. It is recommended that you look at something
‘alive’, preferably ‘vibrant’. Humans make good objects, but tend to notice you looking at them…so be careful, as to
avoid embarrassment. You could look and study a ‘friend’ or family member.
Begin by finding as much stillness as you can within yourself. You may need to carry out the simple breathing
exercise, but when you know you are ready to venture forth, direct your attention towards your subject.
Looking at the subjects physical features, move your vision to the space around it, what do you notice in the space?
Do you see some kind of field around them? Most people have an energy emanation several centimetres from their
body, it may seem like a corona or similar. You may detect this field, using ‘energy awareness exercises’, but in this
exercise one is attempting to ‘see it’.
You may find it easier to observe, if your subject can sit against a plain neutral coloured background, e.g. white or
yellow background.
The corona may extend a foot or so away from their body, and so look (but do not analyse), at the space around
them. Your clairvoyance will develop, with practice. Clairvoyant vision can be very visual, but this is rare. Most can
see, simple colours around people, be that as a thick region around their body, or in many cases ‘parts of the body’.
Now you need to wake up to the fact that you are not going to see ‘normal’ everyday light. Expect this, expect
nothing! The truth is, those of you who are naturally tending towards clairvoyance, will find next advise easier than
a fresh novice.
Your third eye will give you ‘third eye’ vision; it will not improve your physical vision. According to great Gurus,
Yogis and “Moonies (Sadhus)”, The Third Eye vision is so powerful that if practiced and mastered, one can see
through walls. It is very similar to the way blind people cannot see but they have enhanced ‘hearing’ and
interestingly enhanced feelings. Third Eye Vision is seen ‘inside’, and this means that initially you will need to
‘trust’ the visions that you get inside your minds eye…
Practice will get you past images from your imagination. You will learn to trust certain images and discount others.
It is perfectly possible for you to look with your physical eyes, and yet in your minds eye, you see something else.
What is the ‘something else’? You will have to discover that for yourself. However, you may see something akin to
‘chiffon nets’, occupying the space around the physical body, areas that draw attention to your awareness. When this
happens, be as gentle as possible, as an over involvement and interest in what you perceive may cause you to loose
the connection to the third eye seeing process.
Some have claimed to see electricity? Now not everybody will be able to do this, however, try this exercise.
Get as relaxed and as neutral as possible:
Have 2 identical batteries (one charged and the other flat) inside an opaque bag or similar. Take out of the bag the 2
batteries and place them in front of you, separated by 20cm or so. Now, just look into the space around the batteries.
Is there a difference? Does one of the batteries have a quality that the other doesn’t have? Which one has the charge?
Using a torch or similar low volt appliance, test your battery!
If you were correct, what was different?
If you were incorrect, stay calm and relaxed, and repeat. Put the batteries into the bag, and start again. Over time,
you can notice differences. Noticing the differences, will help you calibrate to the phenomena that you experience.
In other words, you will develop the ability to read the signs.
Development of Astral Projection awareness
Method 1
With practice, you will develop an ability to stay awake, as your body falls asleep, and your astral ego centre, having
been developed enough can allow ‘seeing’ at the non physical astral plane. If you have not practiced any of the
above and are only at the reading stage, you may still be sceptical but be assured that just few days of practice can
bring tremendous changes in your perception.
You will need to develop the ability to ‘let go of your body’, be very relaxed, and allow your inner eye vision to
have free reign- without falling asleep.
• Find a quiet room, and free of distractions. You can lay down for this exercise.
• Get yourself as relaxed as possible, using the 4:2:4 breathing pattern or if you prefer a 4:4:4 breathing pattern.
• See the simple mandala in your minds eye, it could be as simple as white background. Keep that image in your
mind as long as you can. Now this bit sounds simple, but you will need to practice it. Some readers will get rapid
results and others will need more practice.
• Keeping the mandala in your minds eye, allow yourself to go towards sleep. Please do not perform this
exercise at night as one tends to naturally sleep hence you may not achieve the same results.
• As you begin drifting off, pay attention and in time you will notice patterns, or colours or even landscapes
appearing in your minds eye. If you get too excited or engrossed at the images and start ‘analysing’, it will
quickly disappear.

Now some people just fall asleep, but with practice your astral ego centre, and third eye awareness will develop.
People can even find themselves witnessing ‘inner landscapes’, outside of meditative practice, either as they ‘fall
asleep’ or just when they are relaxing and spontaneously ‘see inner visions’ of people, surroundings etc. This is
normal too.
• Some people may experience ‘spontaneously awaking elsewhere’ and then have the experience of re-entering
their own bodies, sometimes with a startle.
• Some people have out of the body experiences and see themselves lying down with their eyes closed. With
practice they can develop the ability to extend away from the body, without having their body ‘wake up’. If the
body wakes up, your consciousness will shift to the body, and away from the astral. It will require much
detachment, to not get drawn back into the body.

Method 2
See the mandala in your minds eye. (If you can not do this, imagine it!)
After several minutes allow your mind to sense the space around your body, and hold your awareness there. This can
produce experiences of ‘disembodiment’. With practice, you can convert the disembodied feeling into ‘movement’
and from there develop movement into the room and further a field.

Method 3
This method can also be used to help develop clairvoyance. This method relies on your third eye seeing into the
astral plane using ‘water’ as a lens.
Practice your breathing techniques to enter a relaxed state.
Use the simple mandala for several minutes.
Then place a glass of fresh water in front of you and just look into it.
Keep looking into the water for several more minutes and then do your best to become as empty as possible, free of
thoughts, anticipations and expectations. Having got empty, keep looking into the water and then gaze into your
minds eye…what do you notice? Can you see or hear anything…do you get any impressions?
After several minutes, take someone you know and have a question about them, that you want answered {Please
note, be ethical}, perhaps, where they are? Gaze into the water, holding that person in minds eye, what impressions
flash into your mind? Do you see pictures, sounds etc?
Later check out with that person where they were and find out if any of the impressions you received correlate with
them.
Complementary Techniques
Telephone
The following are simple and very fun loving exercises which helps you to build on what you have learnt through
this book.
Each time the telephone rings, instead of rushing, remain very quiet inside for one or two seconds and try to feel
who is calling. Be careful not to let your rational mind interfere by making ‘clever’ deductions. Just become empty
and receptive for a short while. Make this technique an effortless habit: practise it systematically. (Sticking a
reminder on the telephone usually helps.) It will not cost you any extra time in your day. The same practice can be
extended to other situations of daily life. For instance, each time somebody enters your house, tune in and try to
‘see’ who it is.
With the telephone this practice will be of a different nature, for the following reasons: seen from a clairvoyant eye,
a telephone call is a curious melange of consciousness and an electromagnetic signal. The two get mingled into a
wave, not unlike the manipulations of radionics. The telephone call is not only a signal carried by an electric current.
A wave is generated in a particular astral layer, and the electric signal is but an outer manifestation of this wave.
That is why some healers can be so efficient when helping a patient over the telephone: the telephone wave carries
their psychic impulse. That is also why you sometimes feel so scattered after a telephone call, because a lot of
emotional negativity can be conveyed to you through the astral layer of communication.

Blind walking
Put on a blindfold and get somebody to guide you on a walk through the countryside.
The exercise provides an occasion for relying mainly on your eye to sense and explore your environment.
It is also quite interesting for developing trust. Please do not perform this exercise in busy places where there is
traffic.
Protection
Having all the knowledge and practicing whatever has been mentioned in this book is all well and good however at
the same time it is also equally important to preserve your energies and protect yourself from negative influences.
The very first recommendation for protecting yourself will be related to a healthy living/lifestyle. Without the
healthy lifestyle to sustain your foundations, other methods of protection will not be very efficient, and anyway your
general process of development will be drastically slowed down. Let us review this general advise:
Enough rest and sleep
You tend to get the negative energies when you are tired. Your energy potential is low if you are tired and you feel
empty, and this emptiness creates a favourable field for the penetration of all sorts of undesirable energies.
So, if you want to undergo a process of esoteric development, the first recommendation is to have a good routine
allowing enough sleep and rest.
The diet
I will not insist on factors such as the superiority of organically grown products, etc. They are important however I
will just attract your attention to a few points.
Beware of unbalanced diets, such as only raw vegetables or nothing other than brown rice for weeks. When
continued over a long period of time, a diet that does not give you what your body needs leaves you weak and
exposed to negative energies and influences.
A regular routine of meal times has an unexpectedly strong effect in reinforcing your astral body and your general
vitality.
Your state of awareness and focus while eating may greatly enhance the spiritual value of your meal and your
opening of perception. Eating with perception is a completely different experience.
Some foods have an action that stimulates subtle perception. Raw carrots, for example (not so much cooked ones).
Others such as beetroot have the power to stimulate the action of the Ego on the physical body. Some spices have
traditionally been used for protection, such as garlic. The action of all of these will be greatly enhanced if you tune
into their energy. Use your perception to discover what is good for what.
The main advice is to follow your sensitivity. As you proceed on the path of opening, your taste will change by
itself. Among other things it is very likely that you will naturally decrease your consumption of meat, if you are a
meat eater.
The right physical exercise
Techniques for various Yoga and breathing exercises go very well with an inner path. Sadness and depression tend
to make you empty and weak. A joyful mood is already a form of protection in itself.
Alcohol and spiritual work – a dangerous mixture
We all know smoking is bad, but it is a fact that one can go quite a long way spiritually and still be addicted to
cigarettes. Tobacco generates negative vibrations, but its action is not lethal to spiritual life.
Alcohol, on the other hand, can very quickly lead to disaster if one is learning to explore non-physical worlds.
Alcohol automatically connects you with areas of the lower astral that is full of noxious entities. Therefore alcohol
should be avoided at any cost, as soon as one starts to work on the third eye.
Tranquillisers, narcoleptics and other drugs disconnect you from higher worlds and negate the action of the work of
opening. Hard drugs, such as heroin, are totally incompatible with inner work, their effect being similar to alcohol
but much worse. Trying to open perception while living in the same house as a drug addict is like smoking cigars
inside a petrol refinery: dangerous.
What about other drugs?
I could tell you the usual things: They are never necessary. They create scars and introduce toxins in the etheric and
the astral – not only in the physical. If some can force an opening of perception, this opening is transient,
uncontrolled, completely unprotected, and most often twisted.
However, the real answer to the question of drugs is that by developing your subtle bodies you will gain the capacity
to be intoxicated without the need for any substance. A true seer is somebody who is permanently intoxicated with
what he or she receives from the universe and beyond. You would be quite misled to believe that this is just an
image and that it should not be taken too literally. Just wait till you drink your first drop of the nectar of immortality!
It will leave you laughing and rolling on the floor for half an hour. Truly. And it is excellent for your health.
Tune in above the head and you can be instantly calm and at peace. Open your heart and you have ecstasy. The
company of angels bestows secondary benefits much sweeter than chocolate. Reach the Spirit of Life, the glorious
transformed etheric body, and you will have the absolute paradise. On a simple level, several techniques of this book
when practised – not even mastered, just practised – generate an instant flow of endorphins. It is one of the
misconception of the men and women of our civilisation to mistake drug ingestion for intoxication, and more
generally to search outside for what is already waiting for them inside.
