GST Group’s history illustrates a quantum

leap from a small family-based seafood
trading to a multi-million global business.
Since its founding in 1985, Goh Siong Tee Seafood Supplies,
which was named after the father of Dato Goh Cheng Liang,
began supplying fresh seafood to restaurants and hotels
around the state of Penang. With perseverance and a wide
network, the business flourished to the other parts of
northern region of Malaysia.

In the early 90’s, the company’s first marine water fish-

breading facilities, Goh Siong Tee Farm was set up in Pulau
Aman, Penang using the marine cage culture method.

Our Hatchery & Nursery Farm

GST Group has initiated a pioneering hatchery project located
in Batu Kawan, Penang, dedicated to the production of fish
fries derived from eggs harvested at our established farm. Once
the eggs are collected from the broodstock facilities, they are
transported to this hatchery for the transformation into fish
fries. These juvenile fish are subsequently relocated to marine
cage farms to complete their growth cycle.

The hatchery employs a home-based method infused with

advanced technology, specially adapted from foreign sources,
to seamlessly harmonize with the local climate and
environment. With the establishment of our own breeding and
hatchery center, GST Group boasts the capability to generate a
diverse range of fish fries, catering to the requirements of all
the group's breeding farms. This process is underpinned by
meticulous quality control measures applied to our marine fish
production.

Processing Plant
The GST Group has established its headquarters and
seafood processing plant in the Simpang Ampat
Industrial Zone, Penang. Employing a workforce of 500
individuals, this facility is primarily engaged in the
processing of ocean-farmed raw fish and prawns.

Operating at a capacity to handle up to 4,000 tons of

top-quality seafood products annually, the plant
encompasses a range of processing tasks, including
gutting, filleting, skinning, and trimming, before the
products are conveyed to the freezer for preservation.

The plant offers an extensive selection of fish fillets,

which can be packaged either skinless or with the skin
intact. This diverse range includes various fish species,
sizes, and quality grades to cater to a wide array of
preferences and requirements.

In 2018, GST Group ventured into the realm of shrimp

farming and processing, establishing modern facilities
dedicated to the production of live, frozen, and
cooked shrimp.

Our processing plant rigorously adheres to the Hazard

Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) System, an
internationally acclaimed standard for ensuring food
safety. In addition, we maintain certifications for BRC,
and EU standards, affirming our commitment to
