have chosen?
 I truly admire Fernando Amorsolo because he is the first success Filipino young painter in 1988.
He also illuminated landscapes are well renowned for depicting traditional Filipino customs,
culture, fiesta`s and occupations.

2. Evaluate their artworks. Do the artworks reflect the culture and region of its maker?
 Yes, because the art that he created is the reflection of our culture and the assumptions and the
beliefs that accompany it.

3. What is/are their contribution/s in the local art industry?

 His contribution is the pastoral works contributed to the creation of Filipino national identity by
presenting “an imagine feeling of nationhood in opposition to American colonial control”.

4. What makes his/her artworks different from the artworks of other artists in the other regions of
the country?
 The different of his artworks to others are he used natural light in his paintings and developed
the backlighting technique Chiaroscuro, which became his artistic trademark, and this is his
greatest contribution to the Philippine painting.

 The national artist that I choose is Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, he is the most depicting women,
interiors, still lives, and landscapes. He is also known mainly for his gestural paintings in acrylic
and oil, as well as sketches in ink, watercolor, and pencil.

 Yes, since the art he created reflects the culture which it came, as well as the assumptions and
beliefs that come with it.

3. What is/are their contribution/s in the local art industry?

 He was a Filipino painter who exhibited extensively Internationally and whose work earned him
recognition both in the Philippines and abroad.

4. What makes his/her artworks different from the artworks of other artists in the other regions of
the country?
 Most of Federico Aguilar Alcuaz artworks in nude women, landscapes, and interiors.
